Yelp Review 2026 #156:…read more I wanted some Chinese food and Fai Wong came up highly-rated. It's only a 3-5-minute walk from the hotel I was staying at so, I had all green flags to come here. The exterior and interior were intricately designed. It looked promising. Dinner time in Switzerland is 6-8pm. We got here at 6:10pm and the place was empty. Uh oh, that's not a good sign. They don't have old school menus. You have to scan the QR code to view their menu and I absolutely hate that. The service was good. Food came out 15 minutes after placing our order. Spicy Spare Ribs: When you see "spicy" on the menu in Switzerland, don't believe it. Portion is small but it's tasty. 4/5 Beef Noodle Soup: This tastes just like the instant noodles I used to eat when I was 6-10 years old when I didn't know how to cook so I ate instant noodles for survival while my mom got dinner ready. Instead of bok choy, they use cabbage. Instead of big chunks of beef, they use thin slices of beef you typically see in beef with broccoli and combination fried rice or noodles. 2/5 Dim Sum: There are 4 pieces. One shrimp, one veggie, one chicken, and one pork. It was ok 3/5. I like washing my hands before eating. You have to go outside and go inside like an apartment building to access their bathroom. It's not dirty but not the cleanest either. I really should have paid attention to where the reviews came from because this was not over 4 stars quality.

In any case, the food was good and a welcome relief for an Asian palate after weeks of travel in meat-cheese-and-potato-heavy regions of Europe. The menu has a wide range of dishes. The service was decent but as is the norm in Chinese restaurants, if you need something you may be better off waving at your waitress rather than politely waiting for her to come to your table. There are other Asian options in Annecy; this restaurant was very authentic and well-priced, and probably the best strictly Chinese food in town.

If you are craving for Chinese food, there is not much choices in Annecy. The simple dishes like stir fry noodles with bean sprout 芽菜仔炒麵, and house fry rice 揚州炒飯 are done fairly well. However, the roast duck and the sizzling beef are dissapointed. The roast duck is overwhelmed with watery sauce, which they can make a soup out of it. The sizzling stir fry beef to me is only a gimmic than anything else. Overall, the service is great The portion of each dish is smaller than I expected. In terms of quality, and presentation, this restaurant will have a hard time competing in modern urban city like Paris, Vancouver, London, and Toronto. However, because it is locations around Annecy you don't really have much other similar choice around here.

Around the main…read morestreet you basically have a couple of basic choices, with a burger fastfood and kebab being one of them. Partly due to this, we chose this Chinese restaurant, which looks quite nice. We ordered the €52 menu for 2 persons with 4 fried and 3 steamed dumplings each. The main course contained cantonese rice, noodles with vegetables, Beijing duck and prawns with vegetables. All dumplings were quite good to very good, but unfortunately the main course was a bit of a let down. The prawns had virtually no taste themselves and the duck varied from dry on one side to near the authentic taste and crispness of the way it should taste in the best restaurants. The cantonese rice was ok, but the noodles a bit dry and salty. The dessert itself made up for it, consisting of home-made apple beignet with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and strawberry sauce. That was simply very delicious, although I noticed my wife's apple beignet tasting much less than mine (I finished hers). I am being picky here, since the food is always at least good enough, but having eaten in the better Cantonese/Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong, Beijing, Amsterdam among others, I am a bit spoiled when it comes to Chinese food and therefore I give it 4 stars. It could've been 3 as well, when the dumplings and dessert would not be as good as they were. Service is as expected from Chinese: nothing special, but quick and actually paying attention (which is a huge issue in a lot of French cuisine restaurants around the globe).
