There are two vintage stores right across from one another- this one is more of a furniture and home store while the other (Antiquités Etc) is more focused on quirky vintage finds such as dog statues and memorabilia. We met the charming owner who was more than happy to chat about antiques, the local area and how messed up the qc farm industry really is, as her husband used to raise milking cows and veals. He even produces maple syrup, which you can purchase on-site. Fun fact: even if your maple syrup comes in a quintessential Quebec can it doesn't mean it's legit. Look for the sticker that confirms it's made by a local producer! The shop sells kitchenware, credenzas, paintings, jewelry, lots of antique dolls... we bought a beautiful frame and were tempted by a few other gems. It was a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon and we will definitely be back.

I usually go there with my grandma to seek treasures in the rough or simply an addition to our home. I never expect to find anything and yet, there is always something that that end up catching my eye. Nostalgic pieces, quality furniture, mid-Century, glassware, dining and cookware, kitsch, you name it! So much so cool! Absolutely check out all my pics! Certainly there are deals to be found. The vendors also really know how to present their wares. Plan on coming back to Marché aux Puces St-Michel on my next Montreal visit and recommend you stop by to discover either something to buy or make you smile! In terms of the things for sale, you could say this is a true flea market and for once, I didn't care that this indoor market didn't have a single food vendor. While I ended up snatching a bargain vintage shirt for $5, I saw everything from furniture and paintings to LPs and rugs. We spent a good 40 minutes both upstairs and downstairs, and would definitely return. There was parking behind the building but it was limited, and traffic immediately around the market was pretty heavy. We ended up finding street parking a few minutes walk from the market and didn't mind it at all. Although I had enough Canadian cash on me so paid in cash, I recall they accept an electronic payment method whose name I don't remember. I hope the marche stays open for a long time.
