The presentation was really pretty and the food tasted as good as it looked. Plus, it was only ~3 euros for each, and beers were cheap too! Bartender was working alone the night we were there, but despite a relatively large crowd, she was able to function as bartender, waitress, and bus staff without any problems. She was very nice and open to make suggestions. This was a higher end food experience than some of the other pinxto places where we stopped (even though the bar and staff were very welcoming and casual) and I would definitely recommend checking out La Comedia!

For a spicy tapa we had anchoa rellena de fritada which has spicy green peppers on top of filet of anchovie. As you sit outside on the street where the bulls run during the festival of San Fermin, you can drink your beer or wine and imagine what it may be like to be with Hemingway, since nothing has changed in the neighborhood since before that era.

We had delicious and piping hot croquettes with a creamy interior spiked with salty ham. Their anchovies were standard but really delicious. Finally, at the bartender's recommendation, we had some Morcilla (blood sausage) with a lovely creamy puree. There is so much amazing food in Bilbao, it's sometimes hard to choose where to go to get your fix.
