Vista del Rio apartment review…read more So we liked what we saw initially, apartment wasn't bad, management was very friendly, all seemed great until we actually moved in then the problems started. We were told the apartment was completely cleaned prior to moving in and it definitely wasn't, dust all over everything, dishwasher actually had dead bugs all around the outer door and smelt awful. The carpet looked clean but my toddler was crawling around on it and she looked like she was covered in charcoal afterwards from how nasty the carpet was. Then when we actually got settled in and walked around barefoot we realized our feet were turning black from the filth on the carpet. We also found several bent nails in the carpet. But we're just beginning with the amount of problems here. The dishwasher did not work after i tried cleaning up that disgusting mess and sounded like a jack hammer was going off in our apartment when i used it. I let them know about it and just asked when they could possibly replace it and "they weren't obligated to since it's not a listed appliance in the contract". Had to fight them for 4 months before they finally replaced it. Master bedroom fan nearly ripped off the ceiling when we used it and even started smoking slightly setting the fire alarm off so we didn't use it for 4 months either. The closet doors are really loud when you move them constantly get jammed up and try to fall off. Our sliding glass door was poorly sealed and every time it got windy we got everything in our living room covered in dust and they never fixed it the countless times I reached out to them about it and wound up canceling it all together. Hard water in the sink which constantly completely clogged the kitchen sink, they came out 3 times to fix it and never did and I got scolded that I was "violating my lease agreement by modifying the apartment" for simply taking the filter cap off so we could actually use our damn sink. And when maintainence did come to fix things they would show up unannounced, wouldn't even knock, wouldn't get any indication that they were coming they will just unlock your door and walk right in like they're welcome 24/7 which really pissed me off, they walked in my bedroom while I was asleep and another time while my wife was indecent and I had to slam the door shut so they didn't catch a peek. We always did laundry at a family members house cause i gave up using their laundry mat with washers and dryers constantly being out of order. And when I left I was put in a really narrow window, they happily pro rated my rent when we moved in but if you plan on moving out make sure you don't go into the next month or they'll make you pay the full amount of rent no exceptions. I wouldn't reccomend these apartments to my worst enemy, I've lived in many apartments and this one by far has to be the worst one no contest. Also the same management manages the other "Vista" apartments so keep that in mind when you're looking and good luck. Feels like you're living under a dictatorship instead of renting an apartment. "No pets" yet I still see other tenants with pitbulls crapping all over the grass and somehow that's fine. Oh and not to mention they had the audacity to charge me $140 for door locks and despite cleaning and leaving the apartment in much better shape they charged me over $200 because "I didn't provide receipts from a licensed carpet shampooer" do not rent from here period.

The maintenance crew is worthless. I've had a bedroom door that has been broken and off the hinges for over 2 months and they have yet to do anything about it. The dishwasher is old and gets clogged up or backs up. Its no fault of mine as I scrape my dishes off in the trash and pre rinse to ensure there is no food or gunk on them prior to placing them in the dishwasher. My toilets back up and again, no fault of my own. These apartments are just old and need a serious renovation. The kitchen cabinets and drawers have the worst design ever. I have 2 drawers but can only utilize one of them seeing as how one of them is so close to the oven that it only comes out about two or three inches. My biggest complaint would be maintenance, again, they just don't get things done in a timely manner or even at all at times. The dishwasher has been drained twice and they keep telling me that I need to pre rinse my dishes prior to placing them in there. I do that already so, to me, its just an excuse for them to do a half passed job. I guess you get what you pay for. As soon as I can find another place to move into, I'm out of this shit hole. I'm giving it two stars for being so cheap on rent but, if it weren't for poor management and maintenance I'd give it another.
