The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, and will gladly help you make a decision on the best knife or pan, or show you one of the latest offerings. The knife room is something to behold. I absolutely love the 2 knives I have purchased so far - they helped me pick the right tools for what I needed within my budget. The products they stock are of high quality, and the prices are in line with what you would expect to pay. If I need something for my kitchen, Better Knife & Kitchen is my first stop!

There were some items where we only needed something simple, and we were guided to a great product at a reasonable price with no hesitation. When looking at high quality long term investments (pans, knives, etc.) there were so many great options and the staff took the time to take us through the whole store and help us get exactly what we needed. We will be back soon for a knife sharpening and to pick up a few more odds and ends.

I've been in this store a handful of times. Stoughton is very lucky to have such a gem in its town…read more You can find wonderful decorative pieces for your home and kitchen, as well as useful and practical tools needed to cook just about anything. One thing that makes this store stand out amongst the other cute little boutiques in Stoughton is that they offer cooking classes! I've always wanted to take a cooking class or two but never pulled the trigger until last night. I attended a pie making class instructed by Susie. The class size was limited to about 10 people. The owner or staff member Kim was a wonderful host offering water, and complimentary wine. The class I attended was partial hands on, which was perfect. Although I did notice some of their classes are demonstration only. We tried 3 different savory pies, a desert pie, and even got to take home a fruit pie we made ourselves. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to sign up for my next class!

I love being able to walk to shops like this in my own neighborhood, full of Stoughton ambience.

Update to my prior review: Customer service and tech support say all is well. We had a cold wind…read more(it's winter) coming in the exhaust duct that had allowed the cook surface and controls to get too cold, and the unit was telling us it needed to warm up a little before we used it. It has and it's working fine. However, they have temporarily removed the unit from their website as they are searching for an alternate vendor for one of their components, and want to hang on to existing inventory to cover service obligations. I think that's the right amount of watching out for their customers.

I purchased Western Premium's WP36IDDA(the only one they make) Induction cook top with 3 speed down…read moredraft. I have had the cook top for about three months. I have cooked with both electric and gas before. I LOVE INDUCTION!!! It heats up faster (you save on electricity too) and cools down faster than either electric or gas. You have heard if you watch water boil, it will take forever? Well, you can watch this cook top boil water and within a minute the water will be start to bubble. Depending how much water you are boiling, but it's the fastest for either wok cooking or pasta water. I cannot turn up the unit to high with my wok because it will get too hot ( I never thought that was possible??), so hot, the oil will smoke to the point of causing so much smoke I start to choke. I would guess if I left it on high, my wok would melt!!! And no, the downdraft cannot keep up with that much smoke, not even an overhead fan would work. The downdraft works as well as can be expected for a downdraft. Now once I turn the heat down, within seconds, it stops, almost like putting "on the brakes", even faster than gas (because with gas, the flame heats up the grate that the pot sits on and so there is more conducted heat to dissipate); so as a chef, you have complete control. Not having gas, your kitchen stays much cleaner and no CO2 to worry about. And yes, this induction cook top will work with a wok, lifting to toss food and back again, it takes about a minute for the burner to turn off with a pot off of it, so woks work fine. You cannot slide a wok on it (might scratch the glass), but you will quickly adjust to lifting it up first, then toss. The fifth burner is a warmer that keeps food at around 125 degrees, perfect for sauces. All of my questions and concerns were answered by Jennifer Cook; so you can talk to a real person anytime you have a question. Everything about this cook top is heavy duty and should last past it's two year warranty. At this time, there is not an extended warranty available. My only cons are both on the grate of the downdraft: 1. it moves a little and when cleaning it knocks against the glass; I just used a rubber gasket to stop that. 2. the grate has big holes in it and food or anything can drop down into the filter area (the filter will catch anything, but), I put a fiber filter on top of the grate so nothing can drop down and it does not reduce the downdraft. So time will tell if this cook top will stay at 5 stars, but I would be surprised if I have any problems in the next ten years and I cook everyday!!!
