The starter was nowhere to be seen initially. I had to go in to the Pro Shop and ask where he was. He was having lunch for half an hour and people were just letting themselves on the course. Finally he came out and paired me up with somebody. Not an easy course. Greens were quick and there's plenty of water. I'll never be back.

The course this day had large areas of standing water. The course was cart path only. This course should have been closed to play as we all felt that we were contributing to course damage by being on it. But I suppose since summer revenues are low, they let us all play. The Club House is one of the most attractive Ive seen in some time. It's not a high modern design but a woodsy country style that is very welcoming, comfortable and not ostentatious at all. Our group of 12 players was looking forward to this outing as it is one of the few courses in the area that has no houses on the course. This makes for outstanding opportunity to see wild life, flowers, and all that stuff. The staff was very friendly and genuine and not stuffy country club types at all. Mid-westerners will dig this place. As to the course itself, it's hard to criticize a Tom Fazio designed playing field. The next time I play Im hoping we can drive the carts on the fairways as I'm sure this will contribute to the playing experience. GO to Bonita Bay Naples Club and play the Cypress.

Brilliant creations of architect Tom Fazio, the Cypress and Sabal courses are nestled among cypress stands, Florida slash pines, and sabal palms. These Audubon Sanctuary courses meander around our 8,200-square-foot clubhouse. Cypress opens with wide fairways punctuated by strategically placed bunkers. The back nine becomes tighter, with holes often cutting through dense stands of trees. Steep-faced bunkers, plenty of wetlands and water, and slick-running greens are signature features. Sabal bordering on a wildlife preserve, is a little shorter and tighter than its sibling course. Long white sand bunkers flank undulating fairways. Ponds intimidate, especially on holes nine through 12, which curl around a 35-acre lake. Multi-tiered greens with false fronts and terraces require focus until the ball is holed.
