We stopped here during a long hike for a quick bite. t took us 15' to get the waiters attention and get our order in for sausages, grilled cheese, 2 salads and 2 cordon bleu's. 25 minutes after putting our order in the waiter came back to say they were out of sausage. Another 35 minutes later the cheese and 2 salads arrived. The waiter must have been angry with us and try to kill us with way too much dressing. Salad of the house wasn't special at all. Another 15' later the cordon bleu's for the boys arrived. Luckily they tasted good. Wouldn't come back here unless we had no other choice, there aren't a lot of options around here. Better: pack your own lunch while hiking.

While fish is mostly good the rest is often somewhere between ordinary and not enjoyable. Well, this here is definitely a great exception! Very good meat, fish, cheese and desserts. Tasty house wine. Great service: you get informed about the fish of the day without even having asked, you get asked if you wish your steak medium or well-done, recommendations are good and even some English is spoken! The Cortado coffee was the best we had on the island. All in one simple but tasty and authentic food, good service, friendly atmosphere and good prices.

The food (grilled fish) was decent, but at 15€ also not a steal by local comparison. It was certainly, and by a large margin, not the "best fish I ever had" as other commenters found, not even in this price range. I suggest Portugal or Greece for that!

You'd be fine with just a generously portioned main course ... but DO yourself the favor and order a starter and dessert too. It's so good, in my case those were even the highlights. You better book ahead as people seem to come for more after they realize this is good food.
