The ACE Hardware store deliberately places an offer for goods that are not actually available for sale. This deal is placed to attract customers who will buy something else in addition to this product. Then the sale of the offer is unilaterally cancelled by the store. My online order # 54457153-54457463 was cancelled without apology or compensation. Before that, I went to the store twice after receiving a letter that the goods were in stock. The store is quite far from me. And there they told me that such goods were not available. This is a deliberate action of the store, which deceives customers. I think that such stores are not needed at all. Large retail chains like Home Depot or Lowe's are enough. The range of goods there is sufficient. And they act honestly with customers. ACE Hardware stores should soon disappear with such an attitude to business and customers. I will never buy anything from ACE Hardware again and I recommend everyone else not to do business with them. read more

I really, really want to give this location Ace Hardware a higher star rating.. but I can't with a good conscious. I called the store to verify they had the item I looked at online. The gentleman I spoke with confirmed the availability and I also asked for the price and mentioned the AceHardware.com website had a lower price and he said it wasn't a big deal and they match all prices you see on their website. When I got to the store, I asked a worker in the store for the product I saw online. He was very friendly and walked me to the area of the store the vacuum was in and retrieved it from overhead storage and answered any questions I had and also offered an extension cord and asked us to come back to them and see them again. This what I would expect from a small town hardware store. And when I went to the cash register is where things started falling apart... When I took the item to the cashier, I mention that the price was lower online and she told me there wasn't anything they could do about it and if I had issue with it I could buy it online or go to one of the stores in Fort Lauderdale and buy it there for the price you see online. I then asked for a manager/owner and explained that their price they have in store on the product I was purchasing was $44.99, and the price online was $30.99 and I was told by one of their employees that they would match it. And the female manager then started harassing me and asked if I had their employee's name. When I didn't have the name and just expressed that it was a man, the manager was like well that's your problem.. when you ask for a price match you need to have the name of the person that mentioned a policy to you. The manager said the only thing she could do was offer a price match of $34.99 but that's the only thing she could do. I didn't quite understand how she came to a price in the middle of their regular price and the price online and the manager couldn't give me an explanation on why she came to that price. I expressed that I felt like I was at a bait and switch flea market operation and the manager didn't seem to care. I would only recommend going here only if you absolutely have to.. otherwise, find another store to patronize. read more

This is an old school hardware store, like where your grandpa shopped. If you want a truckload of pressure treated wood to build a deck delivered by 8 AM tomorrow, this probably isn't your place. Sufficiently staffed, so there is always someone to assist you, unlike the big box stores. An easy walk from the NW corner of Maule Lake if you are a boat cruiser. Will never shop there again! Three dogs barking at each other while I was shopping!!? The customer paying had not one BUT TWO DOGS!!! And another customer came into the store with his own dog. They started barking at each other and I couldn't concentrate to do any shopping anymore. I'm allergic to pets, I have fobia for dogs and was bitten by one when I was a child. The "anti-Home Depot", and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Walk in the door and one of the cashiers greets you warmly. 20 steps into the place, somebody asks you if they can help. You are NEVER going to get attention like that from Home Depot. And the offer of assistance isn't pushy or hard-sell at all, as it often can be. I go out of my way to get my hardware here. It is intimate and easy to navigate, yet they always seem to have what I need. It's functional and well-organized, and you won't spend hours lost here like HD. My only caution is that you check expiration dates where applicable: I have purchased more than one tube of caulk that had been useless because of being way past the date, and it's harder to return an item here than at HD, so keep your receipts if you think that could be an issue. read more

Ive had a good service in this store most of the time, today I came in for charcoal. Gerard an employee of the store was on the way of a path to get to the charcoal right on the entrance of the store, I politely asked him to move aside so I could pass and he proceeded to ignore me and started to talk to a customer. I asked again and he said to go around the whole checkout counter and line. I did so. As soon as I go around he moves from the way. As I leave the store I ask for his name and he doesn't even acknowledge my presence. What a horrible fact to take advantage of a disaster such as Hurricane Irma to change company policies to make a profit in times of despair. I just tried to return to items in their sealed original packages, not batteries or plywood, bought after Hurricane Irma, and still they tell me I can't return them because they are "hurricane items". What the heck are "hurricane items"? All the hardware store? How long does one have to wait to buy stuff from you guys and expect sound policies after a hurricane? Shame on companies like this! When everyone is donating, helping people, they take advantage of misery. You have lost a 3 year old very loyal customer that use to buy for its home and for its multiple business locations. I will never buy again at an ace hardware store. You should learn from the values of people such as the state of Georgia that received all of us Floridians with open armad and instead of taking advantage they gave us discounts, helped us in any way possible as well as cheer us up. On my first visit the clerk told me they do not carry battery chargers!? I had to go around and forensically investigate where the charges might be. Found multiple models on the top shelve. Got one, which was defective came back to return. Manager Marcia says I am Sh..t Out Luck - no returns on hand tools! What? Where the car charger is considered a hand tool? What you've been smoking lady? Than she summoned whole team of store clerks to check if I am saying the truth. Not with your IQ you will be able to figure out if the charger is working. And lastly what happened with just plain good ol' American customer service? I have 30 days to return/exchange my purchase if I am not happy with it. Miami is still in Continental US the last time I've checked and it is spelled SERVICE not SERVICIO! This Ace is operated like an old fashioned hardware store. The help is really helpful and takes as much time as needed to explain to dos and don't of projects. One clerk spent at least half an hour explaining what I should do with my air conditioning system. During that time other patrons heard and joined in and soon we had a seminar going. This is the old way to sell. It is about the exact opposite of WalMart. I think up things to buy here on weekends. Hardware store do not come much better than this one. It's in the same league as Barnett's in Hallandale and Shell in Coconut Grove. read more
