This venue has been open for 6 months now. What a hidden gem. As I walked in the door I was welcomed and then impressed by the decor. French provincial? Whatever it is I found it classy, casual and very homey. Lots of thought has gone into the details. I am a bit of a brunch man, so this place will be for me. Lunches at at Cafe prices for the time being so I am more than happy to come eat here and see all they have to offer. If you are able to come in for dinner you can sit around a large elegant table that is set up farmhouse style. Great for a small group. Or small tables of 2 or 4 are available. The pizza crust was....soggy under the filling of cheese, mushrooms, tomato sauce, olives and artichoke while the outer edge of the crust was perfect. Good flavour but soggy... My friend felt there was a lack of effort by the staff to make us feel welcome. I did not feel that way exactly but, there was a clique like feeling. Since this was mid-week, I'm guessing it's not as busy as the weekend. That said, there's really no reason to have a clique kind of vibe and staff should actually have more time to give attention to all patrons, not just certain people. I think management or the owner(s) might offer all staff training in (better) hospitality, because a restaurants' success relies on 'good will', excellent customer service and knowing how to make patrons feel 'special'. Mind you, this place can be pretty crowded at times, but it's still pretty nice, and does have a decent vibe about it. Oh, and they also have craft beers on tap as well, so that's a bonus.

The thing is that upon going inside I discovered a rather good selection of beers on tap, and when I have to spend time attempting to choose a beer, then I known I have found a pub that I like. However, they also have a beer garden, and a pretty decent one at that, so yeah, this is definitely one of those pubs on my list of going back to again one day.

They may not be good for your waistline but at $1.50 each, they are just too damn hard to resist. My favourite, the strawberry and cream, rivalled Adriano Zumbo's .Try this cookie and you will wonder what took you so long. They all looked delicious and I ended up buying a chocolate hazelnut brioche for $4.50 which I thought was extremely reasonable for what I got. It was seriously delicious. The chocolate not too sweet and the bread was yummy. Will try their other awesome looking pastries next time I'm in the area.
