So we did not end up sending our baby here…read more But nonetheless, I wanted to take this opportunity to write a great recommendation for Nikki and the rest of the staff. Earlier this year, we were looking for a daycare solution for our six month old. We heard great reviews, and so we came by for an in person tour and paid a deposit here. The staff was so welcoming, and it was evident that they really cared about taking good care of the kids. Additionally, there coronavirus protocols were spot on. They took great care to enforce a 100% masking policy, and it sounds like the vast majority of the staff had also been vaccinated. I loved that even though it looked like a commercial building instead of a school, they had different rooms for the different aged kids, kitchens, security cameras EVERYWHERE, and even outdoor space. We felt welcomed and Nikki answered every question we could have possibly had. Another endorsement is that she sends her own kids there! Anyway - we wish things would've worked out - it's purely a matter of distance and proximity - but we would've been thrilled to send our kid here. Thanks Nikki and the team!

I have been a Kiddie Academy parent for years - at two different locations. Unfortunately, this…read morelocation lacks engaged ownership and leadership - it really shows in this organization. The classrooms vary based on if you're lucky with consistent teachers. Turnover rate is HIGH for both front of office and classroom teachers. There are multiple instances that I would consider as lack of engagement, oversight and transparency from the ownership... including getting sent this article by a family member (not hearing it from the daycare themselves). https://patch.com/illinois/darien-il/child-drinks-suspected-bleach-darien-day-care-cops Another, personal example - Before I recently moved my child to another daycare in the area, I uncovered that I had been getting regularly overcharged for about 6 months and had to reach out about getting it corrected. The explanation: a mistake, lack of leadership oversight. Bottom line - I really loved some of my children's teachers. Being a parent is hard work. Taking care of children is hard work. This isn't a BAD establishment. However, there are notably better options at comparable price points in the area. I recommend you do your homework.

This is my third year being a CSA member. Not only is the taste of the vegetables amazing, but…read morerecently it's been significantly cheaper than shopping organic at the big box stores. I go to the farm for pickup every week, and I love the variety, that I can pick and choose between over a dozen different herbs and veggies, the extras they often have, the UPick tomatoes and beans and etc. It's also such a relief to know where my food is coming from, that there are no chemical fertilizers or pesticides in it, that it's not downwind a feedlot so no chances of salmonella outbreaks in their leafy greens, that it hasn't been sprayed to ripen -- the peace of mind itself is invaluable. They have three seasons (spring, summer, and fall) that you can sign up for (that often sell out early, especially the summer season), as well as Thursday farmstands in the afternoon. Also, at the beginning of May they sell seedlings, with prices cheaper than The Growing Place, and most of the plants I buy from there thrive in my garden with no additions required (I put compost in the hole and around the base when I first plant them, mulch around the seedlings, and that's pretty much it, by mid-July I'm getting more tomatoes and basil and etc than I know what to do with).
