As soon as we arrive we noticed they were giving planes rides in a very old Biplane. Decided to sign up and with the help of the local volunteers we talked my mom into going too. The Owner / Pilot (Dewey) was great. Joking before and after but provided a beautiful, fun, and smooth 20 min flight. It was amazing to see the area from an open passenger seat. Wind blowing and able the see above beside and all around the entire time. Also when turning you can see the ground. Taking off was smooth and exciting. My mother is afraid of heights and we talked her into it. Really incredible. For me an experience of a lifetime. You have to try it. For a company may be a great activity to have for a retreat too. After parking in the lot across the streeet, we pushed the intercom button and were buzzed in (always a VIP feeling!). We were greeted by the instuctor, Mark, who did a quick tutorial of the ins-n-outs of the plane. I got in the pilot seat, Mark rode shotgun, and my fiance got in the back (no additional charge for him to ride). I got to steer the plane a little during pre-takeoff taxiing, and do some turns and ascents/descents in the air. Totally different experience than a commercial airplane! It was a gorgeous day and the views were awesome. It was a *little* shakier than a Delta flight, but in a "wheeee!!" kinda way :) I am now the proud owner of my very own flight log, with one flight under my belt. Another bonus... about a week after, I got a Thank You card in the mail. The front was a picture of my fiance & me standing by the Cessna we rode in. Thanks to the pandemic one of our son's Christmas gifts from last year couldn't be scheduled until…read moreyesterday. When we arrived at Take Flight Ohio we were quickly greeted, got signed in, and the routes my son wanted to fly were jotted down. Andrew walked us back got he simulator module and quickly gave enough information about the controls and how things worked for my son to gain some familiarity and then take off. Once the auto pilot was engaged Andrew answered all of the questions our son and us had. Our son had a great time flying the simulator from Tampa to Miami, Miami to Key West, and finally a quick trip from San Diego to Los Angeles since he had some additional time on his session. We'll definitely share the great experience with our friends!

The bathrooms are great, the pilot lounge is very comfy even though I never use it, as I have a hangar. The have vending machines, I am sure it would be a losing proposition, but I would love to see a small cafe here. The FBO building itself is one of the largest I have seen for a small airport and they have a small area of items for sale. Free WiFi is available as well.

Jr. instructor has only 350 hours, and will not sign you off to solo unless you are absolutely perfect in every aspect of operating the helicopter. If my fixed wing instructor had been so strict, I would never have soloed. I spent $17K (34 hours), and she would not sign me off, so I gave up. I am a fixed wing pilot with 750 safe hours.

When I was shopping for private pilot training, the first thing I looked for is the safety record of the aircraft. Enstroms check the boxes. No crazy safety Endorsement required like when flying mast-bumping Robinsons. The second thing I looked for was accessibility to service. Check. Warren Co airport is intimately associated with Enstrom Helicopter Corp and is a service center. Finally, I interviewed the instructor pilots. TJ and Matt are friendly gents with thousands of hours of experience. They have a firm dedication to safety and a dedication to seeing you become proficient in whatever you want to do. They are straight-shooters and lend sound advice on everything Helicopter. Their schedules are flexible and they really go out of their way to help. There is no one else you want in the right seat other than good pilots with good teaching skills. Don't expect a bunch of hand-holding on the ground knowledge, though. Their pragmatic approach has students using inexpensive on-line programs for that. I just received my private helo rating, and I'm living proof that vaheli performs a service as advertised! No regrets! Their tour clients are a satisfied group too, just ask!

I saw them every weekend for 13 weeks and although I'm not flying down to LUK every weekend, I miss them! I've never met a group of people that cared that much about a student. I was able to call down at any time with questions that I had. I enjoyed my conversations with Dave, Sharon, Marty, and Onie every weekend. But about the class: It was well structured. Any questions I had were always answered. Their ADX test prep is amazing. I studied their guide for a few days and didn't have any issues. I knew the answer to the questions before I was done reading the question. As for my FAA checkride, I had no issues at all. Flamingo Air academy prepared me to the point where I had no doubts I'd be walking out with my Dispatcher Certificate. Thanks Flamingo Air!
