i agree with the one review that has been posted. My son is in the military, I wanted to have his car transported to him, and Kimberly (liar, liar, liar) quoted me $950. I told her that was the highest quote I received. She lowered it to $875. The day the car was to be dropped, I called the actual transport company to be sure everything was coordinated because I knew my son was waiting for the car, and was told by the driver that he needed $850. Wait. Really? When I put down a hundred dollars with Kim? So the upshot is I was quoted $875, I put down $150, I owed $725, but when I talked to the driver I really owed $825. I called Kim immediately who said to send her the $100 and she would be sure the driver got the money. I didn't. I had tipped the driver when he picked up my son's car, and because of that he knew I was honest and we settled it between the two of us. It is beyond disgusting to take advantage of military families, even if it is only a hundred dollars. Avid Car Transport is not a fricking charitable organization even though Kimberly may view it that way. Check on Yelp or go to the Better Business Bureau. This company is a crock! We are military and hired them to transport our car from Dallas to San Angelo, TX. As soon as we gave them the $100 deposit, they fell off the face of the earth! They refuse to call me back, answer when I call, email me back, and when I post a comment on their Facebook page, they delete me. I have filed a BBB report, which I HIGHLY recommend others do. Companies like this should be held accountable! I even have emails from them stating we'll get a refund, etc. This company is run by a bunch of uneducated and ignorant people! read more

We hired this company to transport a car from the Northeast to Texas. The car was picked up on a Monday and we were told it would arrive at the mandated destination on the following Monday or Tuesday. By Tuesday, we had heard nothing of the driver's arrival, despite the woman (Kimberly) at Avid telling us "I PROMISE it will be there today or tomorrow." When it wasn't there Tuesday, she again said, "I PROMISE it will be there tomorrow." On Wednesday, she told us the truck transporting the car had broken down, but she wouldn't tell us where. Was it in Texas? Was it in Tennessee? We had no idea because she refused to tell us. Or maybe she didn't know. That is what we finally determined -- that she had no idea where the truck was and that she possibly had a rogue driver on her hands. We thought it was possible that the car had been stolen. We though we might get the car without parts. Wednesday came and went and we still had zero information about the location of the car. So we called the Houston police and we let Kimberly know that. She was very upset, not just that we had called the police, but that we kept calling her. She was obviously in over her head. She said it was no big deal that the car was late, that it happened all the time. Well, then DON'T MAKE PROMISES! Maybe she doesn't know what a promise is. She obviously doesn't know what honesty is. I mean, how hard is it to say "The truck broke down in _________. It is being fixed and should be on the road again by ________. We are so sorry for the inconvenience." But no, she just avoided us or made misguided promises. It was completely unprofessional. Despite their website saying customers have 24 hour tracking services available, there were many times she did not answer the phone. There were many times she did not call us back. And that was just during regular business hours. I cannot imagine even trying to reach someone after hours. So that is another lie. In the end, we got the car that Friday, and everything was fine. The driver was nice, and he rolled his eyes when we told him it was supposed to be there Monday or Tuesday. He said that was a completely unrealistic timeline, not even counting the fact that he broke down. What that means is: Kimberly didn't know what she was talking about. Granted, maybe the driver wasn't communicating with her as much as he should have, but she shouldn't have made all those promises when she didn't have a single clue as to what was going on. From this experience, we have learned that there is usually a "broker" who books and schedules the car transport. That broker uses various transport companies. The broker gets your deposit, and the transport company gets the balance you pay at the end of the trip. It isn't one huge, happy company. We suspect Kimberly is a lone operation, which is all well and good if she could handle what that responsibility means. And she couldn't handle it. She could not tell us the truth. She couldn't provide any honestly. And she had no idea what the heck was going on. If we had to do it again, we would ask AAA or a car dealership we trusted to suggest someone. Avid contacted me after I entered contact information on a website that provided quotes for transporting cars. I gave a deposit on 12/6/2011 for a pick up of my car on Dec 26 or 27th. The week before my scheduled pick up, I tried to contact Kimberly at both numbers on the contract they e-mailed me. One number was never answered and the other number gave a recording that said the number was disconnected. I sent an e-mail which generated an automated reply that someone would get back with me. No one ever did. The week of pick up, I called both numbers and received an answering machine message stating someone would call me back. No one ever did. The e-mails were never responded to either By the day of the pick up, a carrier had not been assigned so I canceled the pick up per the contract via e-mail and phone. I never made contact with a real person either way and Avid never refunded me my deposit per the contract. I am trying to get my money back from my back as of this writing. read more

Went on line and requested a quote from a web site to transport my car from Florida to New York. I was getting all kinds of crazy prices. Was becoming very confused about the whole process. I was almost getting ready to throw in the towel and just drive it, which I really did not want to do. And then I got a call this last Saturday from Britney, kept it simple and went to the point and told me that he could do it for $510 all inclusive, that I would not have to pay his broker fee until they assigned a truck to pick up my car, no risk to me he said. A no brainier! so I booked with him. Thank God I listen to him. Monday morning got a a call from his dispatcher to inform me that the car was getting picked up that after noon. ALRIGHT!
