We reserved and paid for a Mercedes A-Class, only to be "upgraded" to a Jeep Renegade in Genoa - a rebranded Fiat 500 that turned out to be a nightmare on wheels. The vehicle was riddled with dents, lacked basic safety features (no startup indicator, no rearview camera), had over 65,000 miles on it, and the check engine light came on by day two. No phone number was provided - only email contacts - and when I requested a replacement, responses trickled in days later with zero resolution.
Returning the car was another ordeal. We were bounced between the airport Avis representative and the car lot staff, forced to walk back and forth repeatedly just to clarify unexplained charges. We paid around $1K for a Jeep Fiasco rental!
