Before and After by MIKE Meija and assistant who was amazing!
    nga p.

Found Mike Mejia through Groupon and lots of research! I went from outgrown and old balayage to dark brown with wine colored balayage. Mike and his assistant were GREAT. (For the life of me, I can't remember her name . She was sweet, spunky and professional) nonetheless, they made such a good team. They worked quick and achieved this in less than two hours! Most of the time spent on my hair was washing, drying and curling it bc I had such long, thick hair! I'm in awe of how it turned out and LOVE it!

I had the stylist Mike. The pictures below were taken 2 days after I got it done. The good: I love the way that Mike cut my hair. I wanted about 3 inches off, with longer layers. He cut it great, and the layers really helped with how thick my hair naturally is. He did a great job blending my balayage as well, he is definitely skilled and knows his stuff! The products that he used and the way that he and his assistant blow dried my hair made it feel and look amazing! The whole thing took 3 hours, which was expected due to the thickness and length of my hair at the beginning (it was just under my chest). Mike and his assistant were friendly, and made the whole thing thing very comfortable with a nice environment. The okay: The color isn't exactly what I was picturing, I wanted it lighter and more different than my original hair. Oh well, that might have been my fault for not communicating it well or for not showing the best picture. :The eh: There is an extra $30 charge for having long or really thick hair, and I'm glad that Mike was transparent and told me about this from the beginning, but it was just an unexpected charge.

I hate to write a horrible review but I had the WORST experience here. This was my first time here. I have been getting relaxer touch ups for my whole life. Below is a list of things that which in my mind hairstylist 101: 1. She literally was applying the chemicals to my scalp. No question about it. Btw I've posted pics of my chemical burns on my forehead and ear. 2. She was very rough with my hair from the time she started applying the chemical to the time she was detangling. In fact I could feel and hear my hair snap while she was detangling my wet hair. 3. After deep conditioning my hair, she literally rinsed my hair with hot water. Not warm or cool water... Hot water! A good hair care technician know you rinse conditioner our with cool to cold water. 4. Additionally after my hair was wet she took a dry towel and start literally rubbing my wet hair with the towel. Again I heard more strands break when she did this. Every good hairstylist know that that you wrap the hair in the towel and let it absorb the hair. You don't rub the dry towel through wet hair! She can probably do great dying, cuts, and styles but if you want a hairstylist that knows about hair and knows how to take care of hair to make it healthy and grow then stay away. Oh I was also charged $90 for this poor excuse of service. As you can see from my pic, I only got a touch up relaxer(no cut, no trim, no style, no blow dry). I literally like my hair to air dry. I was charged $90... Ridiculous service ridiculous prices. Oh btw they don't post prices. They make it up as they go along. Good luck if you go to this hairstylist and business

This review is for the awesome hair stylist Mike M. ! :D I walked in a bit early for my appointment today since I called in kind of late too. Lol. I arrived here about 20 minutes earlier but he took me in shortly. He cleaned up and got everything ready before sitting me at his station. He was very informational and described to me what kind of products he is going to use on me and how my hair will probably turn out. I told him what I want to my hair and he was understanding but he mentioned that he didn't want to kill/damage my hair since I have had that happened before. I can see that Mile is very professional and loved what he do. Most importantly, he is straight forward with pricing too since he does not want to waste your time or his. He was social throughout the whole time doing my hair. Also, his assistant Mario was really nice and offered me water and cookies! Mario washed my hair and he did not hurt me or pulled my hair. He was very patient! +I would recommend coming to this salon to find Mike as your hair stylist. I can guarantee you a good hair day here.

Extremely upset at my experience here with Mike Mejia. I had ombre done a week and a half ago and my hair is coming off and breaking where the bleach was put on! I was 1 of 3 other clients there Mike was working on at the same time which I thought was unprofessional. In my opinion he left me under the dryer with the bleach foils on WAY too long. While I was there he had cut and finished 2 other clients so clearly it was a while and I've been doing ombre for years and have never been under the dryer that long. I'm so upset that I spent $145 on my hair and now I have to go spend more to try to have it cut everywhere it's broken off so it doesn't look so frayed! On top on the fact that there is a couple spots where I can see a clear bleach line!!!!

After hours, he never lets me down!!

I have the best hair stylist Octavio!! Been going with him for a few years now. Let me start by first of all saying that I would follow Octavio to the ends of the earth. He knows his stuff! As a stylist, Octavio listens to my thoughts and preferences, but he's also confident in steering me in the right direction for major style changes. I tell him what I want and he totally works with it and rocks it out! And always leaves my hair feeling & looking fabulous. I trust him with my hair whole-heartedly with even something as simple as a trim! He's always giving me tips on how to maintain my hair and giving me reviews on the latest products. I can't say enough about him. He's AMAZING and EXTREMELY talented. Last but not least Linda, Linda is the must go to for eyebrows. I seriously loved the great job she did! I would definitely go back to her.

Just got a gel/mani pedi here with Lizz. I called last minute and they were able to squeeze me and my friend in! Awesome. Lizz is super cool and is a genuine person. She will be real with you and tell you like it is. So if your sensitive don't bother coming to her. I purchased the groupon for this salon and was happy with the end result. Pros: they have complimentary coffee and cookies Lizz makes some of her products herself Lizz doesn't mind carrying on a conversation with you and does it very well (she's funny too) Cons: no massage chair Lizz is the only nail lady here so it took a while for both my friend and I to get our nails done A tad bit on the pricier side. Normally gel mani and spa pedi is $55.

I've been driving from Los Angeles to Avonti every 3 weeks for years now. Mya has been taking care of me since Day 1. She is an artist with scissors. I work in entertainment and my hair has to always be on point. I don't know how she does it, but I always leave there looking younger and feeling much more handsome than I really am. Besides Mya's incredible talent, another reason I love Avonti is the owner Von Mai. You won't meet a nicer, or more generous woman. I cannot recommend Mya and Avonti enough. If I've been making the trip from LA there this long there has to be a reason. Check 'em out! You can thank me later. :)

My hair before today with "highlights"'
    Melissa L.

I went in with the intention of receiving highlights, or so I thought. I've been wanting to lighten my hair but it can be costly and hard to lift my dark hair. Von suggested baylage to get my desired color. Super quick process and excellent pricing. I will be returning and recommending her location!

Beware of Mike Mejia... He says he can do it all but he can't. He tried to gave me a balayage this is the picture l want he first picture but l walked out with the second picture on my head the second picture was taken a day after. This happened a while ago but I still think it's doing a service to anyone who is looking for a stylist. Thankfully the salon owner stepped up to fix his work. Go to Von instead. Thanks Von,,,

I came here about last week or two weeks ago and got balayage $90, deep conditioning $12, and blow dry $30. I called about 8 different salons asking for their balayage prices and they were all $125+ so I was very impressed with Avonti's price which is why i was willing to spend more on conditioning and blow dry. The owner was very nice and friendly. Her and another girl, Jessica, were working on my hair. They were both very friendly and did an amazing job on my hair while making sure it stayed healthy too. It's been a week or two and my hair is still really soft after being bleached! Von also gave me a small container of deep conditioner for free for me to condition my hair a week later. Nice salon!

What I asked for on the left, what i got on the the right. Groupon hairstylist and his assistant DESTROYED my hair

Revised to remove the Groupon hairstylists name Horrible cut, horrible color, horrible experience. Cliff notes: Over the coarse of 6 hours!!!! *Ran out of Die, went to the store to get more dye, then it sat too long *tried to correct it by adding black *then let his assistant do balayage, she told me she had only done it once before on her own for a relative last year *Bleached my hair to platinum *then added strawberry blond toner * took over 4 inches off my hair on a very blunt layer and the front half of my head *My hair is fried, over 6 inches shorter than when i started and blotchy orange Long Version: I booked an appointment with The stylist over a week in advance. I came in with a specific color in mind and a general idea of what i wanted in a hair cut. After showing The stylist and his assistant the pictures he explained that he could make my hair look very similar to the picture but may not be exact because he didn't know the formula that the other stylist used. Fair enough. We agreed on the price increase and he said it would take about two hours. The style was a dark chestnut brown with subtle red highlights. Within 30 minutes of starting 3 other clients showed up for him. He explained that he had gotten a new phone and over booked because he old calendar didn't transfer to his new phone. Instead of turning the new clients away he tried to accommodate ALL 4 at the same time with the help of his assistant. I really would've rather come back at a different time when he was less rushed but they had already started to dye my hair. His assistant started to add dye to my hair and ran out half way through and said she had to go to the store to get more. uhhh...what? 15 min later she came back with more dye for the other half of my hair. She then had me sit with dye on my hair for an additional hour. She rinsed out my hair and it came out like a light ashy red. He came over and said they can add something to fix it. I appreciated that he wanted to correct the situation. He then had his assistant again add the black die around my hair line. She rinsed my hair and He started the balayage. I thought he was adding in red dye...not bleaching it out. I am not a hair expert so I assumed he knew what he was doing. He finished about a third of my hair and once the salon owner left he asked his assistant to finish it for him. She started but seemed to have a very hard time handling the cling wrap. She then told me that she had done this once before alone and that was on a family member. I really started to get concerned. She finished the layers and let me sit there with the dye in my hair. Which wasn't dye it was bleach. I didn't realize it was bleach till He came over to check if it was ready and it was platinum. I wanted my hair DARKER, why was there bleach. My hair was already very light from him leaving the first set of dye on too long. Okay... hes a professional I bet he has a plan. He then had His assistant add in toner that looked orange. He said it was Mango...why mango? I really wanted a dark chestnut brown with subtle red highlights. I told him specifically I did not want anything orange. When he blow dried my hair it came out horrible. I could only describe it as orange ombre. He then proceed to cut my hair. I asked for a blunt cut with light low layers, not high layers. The cut came out with 1 blunt high layer with a tiny bit of stringy fried hair on the last layer. From behind my ears forward is about 8 inches shorter than the back. I am really devastated. He told me that I had a week to come back if I would like my hair corrected. I think he could tell that I was so disappointed. I paid and left. After getting home and crying over my horribly damaged ugly hair I text Him and let him know that I was really disappointed with my hair. He said I could come in and he could add a darker toner to the balayage and re-blend the areas where the blotchy spots were. I let him know I would prefer a refund so I could get my hair done somewhere else. He said it was not their store policy but he gave me 100 dollars back so I could get my hair corrected by someone else. I do not trust him to correct my hair. If he was a good stylist he would've done a better job in the first place. It takes years for women to grow their hair out and only 1 bad decision from a careless stylist to take all of that away. You can never undo what you did. My hair is destroyed and breaking off at about an inch from my scalp. The color is horrible, the cut is worse. If you want to pay good money for his assistant to bleach your hair then this is your place.

This was my hair after leaving Avonti Salon yesterday.

EDIT: (Changed my rating from one star to three) I talked to the salon's owner, Von, yesterday about the entire thing and she was very understanding and apologetic and told me she'd take care of it. Today, the manager, Jenny, called and offered kind words and a refund. I am grateful for Von and Jenny's professionalism and complete understanding. I am confident this is a properly run salon with good people backing it. Unfortunately, I think I was just the victim of a major fluke. Thank you again Von and Jenny for taking care of everything and I sincerely hope everyone has a good experience here! I do not want to bash this salon or any of the stylists there, because I know they do great work and have a very good reputation. However, I went to Avonti Salon yesterday on a Groupon for a highlight, cut, and deep condition. My stylist (who I'm not going to name online to protect his anonymity) told me he was relatively new to the salon and I was his first Groupon customer. I was a little weary at that point, but still trusted him. He suggested we skip the foils and simply put bleach on my entire head. I've been getting my hair highlighted for 4 years and know what to expect when getting it done. I told him I wanted a natural, cool-blonde look and prefer foils with very small sections, I do not want my entire head bleached. He said "Well, you're the customer," rolled his eyes, and agreed to do that. Throughout the process, I had to continue reminding him I wanted a natural look with thin highlights. I was getting nervous. When he opened one of the foils it was bright yellow and not at all the color I had asked for. He said that was just "part of it." After everything was all said and done, he washed my hair and began to dry it and I could see large yellow and orange sections. Again, not at all what I asked for. He insisted that we had to just wash it again with purple shampoo and that he could just redo some of the highlights. I didn't want to ruin my hair anymore and knew purple shampoo (which I use every day) wasn't going to just fix it. He seemed annoyed with me. After we went back and forth, I started to cry because this was not what I wanted and he was not understanding me. He took me to his boss/the owner who was going to fix it. She made most of the orange and yellow go away, but added four DARK brown lowlights to balance it out. My hair was looking better, but not at all what I wanted again. I just wanted to get out of this salon and leave this entire experience so I pretended I liked it so to not annoy them anymore. I felt like a burden. The boss/owner sent me back to the first stylist to finish the cut. He was noticeably mad at me, rolling his eyes, and passive-aggressively said, "It's fine. It's cool. You just lost faith in me even though I knew what I was doing ..." I was extremely uncomfortable and unhappy with my hair. I know he was new and he tried his hardest, but it was a terrible experience and my hair looked awful. I went straight to another salon and they fixed it immediately. Again, this review does not reflect Avonti Salon as a whole. Other stylists there were doing great work and everyone was nice, but this was hands down the worst hair experience I've ever had. I will never try to save a few bucks with a Groupon for highlights again.

I am completely in love with my hair. Briza is your girl if your looking for an amazing job.

Even though it's on the smaller side, it's honestly one of the best Korean spas I've been to. Most of the staff spoke Mandarin, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. For only $40 (6 hr limit), I left feeling so much more relaxed. When you first arrive, you'll be given wristbands for your lockers and clothes to change into. Once you enter the gender-specific changing area, phones are not allowed. You'll also need to be completely unclothed while using the showers, jacuzzis, and steam rooms, which is standard for Korean spas. If you're not comfortable with that, you can skip those areas and head straight to the main lounge, where phones are allowed. The lounge has several heated rooms along with one cold room, making it a great place to unwind. One thing I'd ask is to please be respectful and keep your voice down since everyone is there to relax. The cafeteria was another highlight! It serves some of the best Korean food I've had at a spa. It's a little on the pricey side, but I highly recommend the seafood pancake. It was absolutely delicious, and their banchan (side dishes) were delicious. Next time, I'd love to come back and try some of the additional spa services!

She yelled at me saying "I don't want you to come here ever, I never want to give you service!". I don't understand how Mirako Spa even employs such people who are clueless about how to treat clients with courtesy, let alone working in a service industry. Here is the twist: when I checked in, another lady besides Jenny told me that my appointment was at 2:30pm, which their mistake to begin with as my appointment was at 2:45pm. It appears that they messed up with their own scheduling but because I was 3 mins late for my 2:45 appt, I bore the brunt of Jenny's unprofessional behavior as she couldn't admit that they had accidentally messed up scheduling my appointment. Instead she told me to leave or get a facial cut down by 20mins! I am attaching screenshots of my appointment time. As per Jenny, I should have a common sense to show up 15 mins before appointment time even though I wasn't informed about arriving early or else, appt that was anyway scheduled incorrectly by 15 mins sooner, from what I was notified. Try to avoid Jenny if you go to Mirako Spa in Brea, she can be scathing, unreasonable, and unprofessional. Try to reach 15 mins prior to your appointment even if they don't notify you.

I had a lovely first visit at Lemon and Honey Day Spa. I booked a Lemon Lift Microcurrent Facial…read morebecause my skin needed a little refresh with this dry weather. This facial also stimulates collagen production and tones your face. It was a perfect pre-birthday treat for myself. Booking was easy on the website and all their services have a good description to determine what best fits your needs. I had to reschedule my initial appointment, and for that you need to call in. They send you a text reminder, and you must cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid a fee. One special thing to note is if you book a service that's at least an hour, you receive a complimentary foot soak as long if you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. This was a nice touch. When I arrived, Cristina, from the front desk walked me to their quiet room, which has the ultimate relaxation vibes. She was amazing! She had my foot soak ready to go, along with a heated neck wrap and a blanket. On top of that, she made me a delicious vanilla chamomile tea, accompanied by a chocolate. A literal pampering angel. My facial was done by Chasity. She was also so nice and she gave me plenty of time to change and get comfortable in the spa bed. She listened to my skin concerns and tailored the products for my face. Throughout my appointment, she explained each step of the facial. At one point I was so relaxed, I fell asleep. Before I left, I signed up for their busy bee membership so I can make sure to keep up with my skincare goals. Thank you, Lemon and Honey Day Spa, your staff was amazing!
