Marble floor to ceiling, mahogany pews and dozens of golden chandeliers make it a little overwhelming and questionably hypocritical. 11:00 service on Sundays sometimes feels like fashion week instead of mass. On the plus side, though, services are well attended and very nice. 11:00 and 12:30 masses have a full choir throughout and holiday masses are sights to be seen. Msgr. Gus is an EXCELLENT leader and gives intelligent and enlightening homilies every weekend. I'd say try it out and see if it's for you. If not, St. Jude's in Pharr is a great alternative and my personal favorite.
