The place is clean and modern looking with a beautiful chalkboard and a friendly waiter who was happy to accommodate our late-night drunken and broken Spanish. We had delicious and piping hot croquettes with a creamy interior spiked with salty ham. Their anchovies were standard but really delicious. Finally, at the bartender's recommendation, we had some Morcilla (blood sausage) with a lovely creamy puree. There is so much amazing food in Bilbao, it's sometimes hard to choose where to go to get your fix. There is a heat lamp but it was still like sitting in a freezer outside. "We only serve brunch outside," said the waiter. Ninety minutes later, when we paid the check, i went inside to go to the bathroom and I was shocked to see that in the dining room how many people were eating in there: exactly zero! I am quite annoyed that a restaurant of this high status cannot be more accommodating and have better hospitality. They could have easily moved us inside.
