Fabulous and unique experience! Ayesha's Indian cooking class was the most unique and fabulous experience! My family and I were taught some of our favorite Indian dishes... followed by a private dining experience under an adorable chickee hut. This was some of the best Indian food I have ever had and was the perfect way to celebrate my mothers 75th birthday. I highly recommend this if you love Indian food.

Looking into cooking classes for private event, I ran into Ayesha's page. From the moment I spoke to her, I knew she was the one. She is super welcoming, knowledgeable, funny, and an amazing teacher. She discussed her recipes and ingredients with such a holistic approach. Explaining the health benefits of the different ingredients. I like to call her cooking Indian soul food, because it is just so hearty and homey. She did great interacting with the whole group of 10. Everyone enjoyed the finish dishes, starting with me, which I had never tried Indian cuisine to my boss who eats Indian cuisine weekly. She was nothing short from spectacular and we hope to visit her again in 2023. We felt we left with a new friend. Thank you Ayesha for such a great experience.

Ayesha's Kitchen Indian food is not the most popular cuisine in the greater Miami area. In recent years it has seen a surge of new places opening, but still, this food languishes behind many others. And the ones that have opened recently had been a mixed bag when you are desiring some real traditional Indian. Lots of fusion and upscale but not much Mmmm good. Ayesha, of Ayesha's Kitchen, has been filling that gap for close to a decade, one class at a time. Ayesha teaches Indian cooking classes from her home. She has an extensive seasonal course schedule that regularly sells out. Her offerings range from meat courses to breads and vegan and vegetarian classes. Each class has 10 to 12 people enrolled. On the afternoon we went over half had been to at least one classes previous to this one. Two people had been to all of her classes offered! Ayesha is warm and funny and helps break down Indian cuisine so that you can take the recipes back home and start your own journey to making food that is flavorful and delicious. She remembers everyone's name and keeps the classes fun and exciting. Best of all, in the end, there is a giant Indian food feast in her back yard where we get to eat all the things that we made. We attended the Exotic Vegetarian Feast class. And it was indeed filled with exotic treats for the buds. Rice and salad and sweets for dessert. We were part of creating Navratna Kroma, Masala Lentils, and Cabbage Crunch salad to name but half of the dishes. Everything was savory and delectable. Ayesha explained how the spices are cooked and combined to make the dishes and taught us how to temper and toast to get the authentic Indian flavors. We were taught how to buy spices and what to look for. The standouts for me were the Cabbage Crunch Salad and the Masala Lentils. The salad was superb. Lots of crunch from the cabbage and flavor from the toasted and fried spices that were tempered and topped on the cabbage. The Masala Lentils were filled with aromas of fresh spices and tomatoes and perfectly complimented the lentils. We made mounds of food, and there was not a drop left! The courses tend to sell out. So, take a look at the schedule early. Maybe we will see you at a class soon!

I attended Ayesha's class with my friend and we both loved it! I love to cook but didn't have experience cooking Indian food, but we learned so much, especially about each of the different spices used. The food was delicious and it was a great experience. I'm excited to make these recipes again, especially the Samosas and cilantro chutney!

We had the best experience at @ayeshas_kitchen learning how to make some of our favorite #IndianFood dishes. I'm so glad @cianide101 enjoyed her gift. Thank you Ayesha for opening your home and for such a fun and engaging cooking class. You made us feel at home and as if we had been friends for years. We look forward to the next one! #ChefFloraza #AyeshasKitchen #IndianCuisine #SoGood #FoodComa

My friends and I for our graduation dinner

This was amazing! I did an Indian cooking lesson with a group of my friends as a graduation party and Ms. Ayesha was absolutely amazing and a pleasure to talk to. We learned a lot about the spices and different dishes and the meal was phenomenal. My friends and I would definitely recommend this! It was a great experience and we definitely made some memories to share forever :)

"El que parte y reparte le toca la mejor parte." What do you do when a reporter calls you out of the blue and interviews you for being the best Indian cook in the city? You make it a career. It can be a bit of a mission getting a spot in one of Ayesha's classes, and yes it's a bit out of the way, and to some, like me, a bit pricy, but very, very, well worth the investment. From the moment she opens the door, you are greeted with an ear-to-ear smile, the kind you get when you see an old friend's after a long time, a friend who just happens to good incredibly delicious food. You are encouraged to sit in the living room, again, like a friend, while the rest of the guests arrive. Everything is neatly arranged on the table (just the way I like it); recipe packets, chairs and class schedules. The class began with an introduction to spices and their benefits, then transitioned directly into cooking. In an hour and a half we made 6 different dishes; Butter Chicken, Basmati spice rice, flatbread, seasoned potatoes, cucumber salad and a scrumptious arroz con leche-like dessert made of vermicelli noodles. The small class allows for a very homey feel, and conversation flows very well. I met some very nice people and got to enjoy a meal (the class includes a sit-down meal to try everything you just made) in a beautiful setting, one hundred times better than a restaurant. The only regret I have was not eating more for fear of looking like a "fat-ass." I could have easily had more servings. For those not-so-avid cooks, Ayesha also caters and offers private hands-on classes for a minimum of 9 people. The only thing I would say that made me uneasy was all the things she tried to sell us. On the one hand it's good, she has all the tools and spices we need to do these things at home, but I just wish she would save it for the end, it's something that took away from the overall experience. With that in mind, I suggest you take some extra cash, just in case you DO decide to buy something. I took home some spices, including her own blend of garam masala. As a testament to the experience, I have told everyone I know of the amazing time I had in this class. I have also made them countless times for family and friends, including for my own birthday celebration and have never received a bad review, always smiles. Ayesha, thank you for becoming my Butter Chicken guru.

I can't say enough amazing things about this experience. We just love Ayesha, love her classes, her home, and the entire approach she takes to cooking and learning. Her classes are small, intimate, and full of interesting people. So far, we have attended the vegetarian cooking class and a curry chicken class. The food was incredible - better than any Indian restaurant I've ever tried. But importantly, Ayesha's recipes are tried and true. She has perfected them. We have tried multiple recipes at home, and they come out beautifully. Ayesha will also provide you with spice kits so that you can re-create the same meals, without having to buy everything from scratch. I absolutely LOVE her foresight in doing that. We love her classes, and anticipate doing many more during our time in Miami. She receive my absolute highest recommendation (and you can see her perfect Yelp record shows that everyone else agrees!).

Indian Bread Class at Ayesha's Kitchen

My daughter and I took this Indian bread class with Ayesha and really enjoyed it. We made 5 different breads and then sat down together for a lovely lunch which showcased the different breads and pancakes we made. These were accompanied by some of Ayesha's phenomenal dishes and dessert. The class itself was very hands on. After a demonstration of each item, we went to different stations and had the opportunity to practice making the different breads. My daughter is 7 and was able to fully participate. We both really loved the lesson and the interaction with the rest of the group. If you are interest in Indian culture and cuisine, this is an amazing opportunity to learn and enjoy some delicious food and wonderful company.

I splurged on a Vegetarian Delights cooking class with Ayesha, and I have to say it was money well spent. In just 3 hours I feel equipped to cook at least 6 Indian dishes. Ayesha is a lovely host and teacher. She is warm, funny and intelligent, and you will feel instantly welcome when you arrive. At the end of the cooking demo and some hands-on practice with frying homemade pooris (bread), the group sat down for a delicious meal. (Our mouths had been watering since 11 a.m., so the group was definitely anxious to tear into the Indian treats.) Normally the meal is eaten in Ayesha's backyard Tiki Hut, but today the weather was less-than-Miami-fabulous, so we were all content to sip Chai tea, munch on palak paneer and fight over tri-color pilaf in the comfort of the warm dining room. If you like Indian food and have any interest in cooking, this class is a must. The seats fill up quickly! Tell Ayesha that Jessica said hi! And tell her I'm coming over for dinner TONIGHT!

I can't speak highly enough for Ayesha and her classes. I bought a class for my boyfriend as an anniversary gift. We loved it and decided to go again while his mom and grandfather are here (we went yesterday for our second class). We LOVE Indian food and this is some of the best we've ever tried. It's funny, once you go the first time, you just want to go again. The fact that each class has multiple repeat attendees speaks volumes about Ayesha's warmth and charm. It kinda starts to feel like you're there with family, enjoying an afternoon together that culminates with a delicious feast outside by her pool under a beautiful canopy. So here's how it works. The classes are done in her own kitchen. She lives in a nice, established neighborhood in the Gables with plenty of parking in her driveway. Up to 10 people can fit in her intimate kitchen, and you can see everything she's preparing very well. At the beginning, she gives just the right amount of education about the various spices that go into Indian cuisine and even the medicinal uses for some of them. You get a clipboard, pen, and printed recipes at the beginning on which you can take notes. The whole class lasts two hours. The first two are all spent cooking, where she (with your help) prepares about six dishes. By the end of the two hours, with all of the amazing smells emanating from the stovetop, you are so ready to dive in. Everything is loaded onto a serving cart and taken back to her lovely yard where a table is already set. This is the best part: sitting around and enjoying the fruits of Ayesha's labor. Everything we've tried has been exceptional. The first class we learned how to make traditional Curry Chicken, among other things. Yesterday's class was all about Vegetarian dishes, including a paneer dish that was to die for. I swear, the cilantro chutney that she served with the meal yesterday may be the tastiest spread I've ever had anywhere. You can buy a set of three classes and save $10 on each class. I think that's what we're going to do next. They book up well in advance (mostly from repeat students) so you need to really plan ahead. She sells products at the end of the class, but it doesn't feel forced upon you at all. In fact, it's much appreciated, because she makes little spice starter-kits with all the spices you'd need to make all of the dishes from that day's class. It's so much better than going to an Indian store and trying to buy those spices separately, since you'd likely have to buy way more than you'd need (Indian spices have a pretty short shelf life). If you love Indian food, do yourself a favor and sign up for one of these classes. Some people are there to actually learn how to cook, while others attend just to eat! Ayesha is such a gracious hostess, you will immediately feel at home in her home. We can't wait for our next class!

My spice rack, thanks to Ayesha I know how to use them in a wonderful meal

Ayesha is an excellent cook and instructor, and to top it off she is super nice. I have taken four classes with her and they were all great. I highly recommend her classes if you want to learn to cook Indian food or if you want to enjoy a wonderful meal with great people.

We had octopus with chimichurri (I'm a very picky eater and I usually don't eat seafood and omg it was SPECTACULAR). We also had garlic grilled lamb chops with mint edamame hummus salad, Brussels sprout salad , chicken kabobs with potato salad, seafood paella, bacon wrapped shrimp everything was delicious. Chef David was amazing he helped us with anything we needed from how to chop onions to cutting lamb chops to cooking octopus. I was astonished after we finished cooking everything we all sat together and ate and talked it was nice like a family dinner (it was a class of about 12 of us we all cooked something different so at the end we all sat down to try everything we all made together). I totally agree with the review prior to this; I think this guy is a fraud. At the very least, he…read moreis a bully and incredibly unpleasant to work with. I know this first hand. It was my fathers 80th birthday. My large family rented a home for a long weekend in February. I hired Stu to cook one "special" celebratory meal, and to stock the kitchen. He stocked the kitchen! That gets 4 stars on its own, but what happened after gets a negative 6 stars. This guy was terrible. First, he showed up two hours early to our initial in person meeting the day before the big dinner. Being vacation, I lost track of time. I remarked that I didn't realize time had flown by, and I couldn't believe it was noon already. His response "it's 10am. I work on my time, not yours". This should have let me known all I needed to know about this guy. The following day, he showed up several hours early. He arrived before 7am, when he was supposed to come at 10:30. He let himself in, and went to work in the kitchen. Having 16 people in one house can get messy. Luckily I planned and had two full time housekeepers. We, the guests, didn't leave dirty dishes on the table after dinner. We discarded the food, and rinsed the plates. We did leave the washing to the housekeepers to tend to in the AM. Unfortunately for our early (very early, and unannounced chef) there were plates in "his kitchen". He referred to it as his kitchen. It was only his second time there. And he wasn't a guest. He was a well compensated employee for the weekend. Here's when it gets great. That same morning I get a knock on the door. My bedroom door. The door I was asleep on the other side of. This was around 9:30am. It was the chef! I didn't know it was him until he walked in. My partner and I were completely asleep 25 seconds prior. When I asked Stu why he was in my room, and if everything was ok, he started berating me for everything from leaving the kitchen in the condition it was in to letting me know how inappropriate it is to have a housekeeper bring me coffee in the morning. Had he arrived on time, the kitchen would have been sparkling. I won't even address the delivery of coffee, because it's my money that pays for the supplying of coffee, and the making of the coffee. I will have my coffee how I wish. After our two "run ins" I decided I would rather figure out how to make a dinner for 15 people on my own than deal with this person again. I dismissed Stu. But, of course, not before he could manage to make several threats. I am sure I will hear from this guy. What I said above is 100% true without embellishment. I have at least 9 adult witnesses (several lawyers, Stu). In hindsight, it was a little bit of entertainment. He managed to be the biggest drama in a family full of large personalities. But, far too expensive for the quality of the entertainment. I recommend the circus. FYI: this guy never cooked for me or my family, though he demanded several hundred dollars for his "services". My credit card company and I couldn't pinpoint any service preformed. Don't do it to yourself. Find someone else.
