If you're reading, be advised you would be better served contracting your dog to represent your interests as they are certain to do so more loyally than Ayo & Iken. I've paid $14,585 to realize this truth. I researched many firms and received a good impression from Ayo & Iken - my year as a client concludes that's all it ever was, an impression. Since this was my first time requiring legal services, I resisted the stereotype that lawyers are greedy. Ayo & Iken fulfilled it. The longer they drag out your situation, the more they can charge, so there's no incentive to be proactive or produce a resolution on a client's behalf. Why would they self-injure their business coffers? When I inquired to Howard Iken why my statement balance was so high when I hadn't seen a return on representation, he cited I emailed too often about items I asked the lawyer to file months ago. I absolutely do not recommend the law firm OYO en el Kian, and especially not the attorney Jason Ponder. The main reason I asked him to withdraw from my divorce case was that I had previously paid him $2,500 to represent me in an injunction case against my partner (the same partner I'm still divorcing). He never informed me that the court offered free interpreters, and he didn't understand that in an injunction you only discuss recent facts. Instead, he brought up old issues and let my ex interrupt and defame me in court without defending me. In the divorce case, they never even filed the F-50 form or the affidavit, yet charged me $4,000 as if they had completed the work. Additionally, I called the firm many times asking about my refund, and they never gave me a clear answer. They said if I didn't sign to let him withdraw, we'd see each other in court and they'd charge me for it. I told them I wouldn't sign until they told me my refund amount, and they never did. In short, they did nothing and charged me anyway, and I find them to be quite inconsiderate and nearly dishonest. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I am hoping my experience will save someone from a lot of heartbreak. The attorney I had, Joe Little, as a person was great but as an attorney I would not recommend. He made a lot of promises but never came to fruition. In court he didn't say much. I was told to document everything, but I was never asked for any of it. Every month or so I would get another bill for $1500 or $2500. So a year and $15000 later, I am still not divorced and my daughter does not live with me because my lawyer did not fight for me. When I told them I could not pay anymore, they actually asked me if I had family or friends I could borrow it from or credit cards I could use, really? How sad that when people are at a very low point in their life, these people take full advantage. Please if you need an attorney, do your research and choose wisely. read more

Stay away and save your money. They are not professional. I thought they had my best interest in mind and then noticed the paralegal was double charging me. They don't respond in a timely manner. They have you waiting for weeks and do not stay on top of your case. Communication is horrible and they will continue to charge you once you substitute them with a different counsel. I retained Jason Ponder for an emergency custody situation and to terminate child support for a child that was turning 18. It took 3 months before any paperwork was filed for the emergency custody. Over the course of 18 months no court dates, mediation or solutions were ever established. I spent nearly $7000 for Jason and Ayo and Iken to accomplish absolutely nothing. He rarely returned phone calls and did not answer his phone. I understand people are busy and I am by no means a pest when trying to make contact. I would leave a voicemail or send an email and would wait 3 or 4 days and try again. His assistant when contacted had no idea what was going with my case and continued to setup consultations as if I wasn't already a client. I would not recommend this firm and in particular Jason Ponder to anyone. read more

Don't be fooled... Mr McGinn can talk the good talk and convinces you that he can show his teeth when needed and he's on your side, until he has to be on your side. I was in a temporary relief hearing he did and said nothing. I was very much in my own even when opposing counsel was attacking me verbally. He sure knows how to burn up your retainer and payments but he was unable to answer calls or have a zoom meeting and I walked into things very unprepared. I had an attorney so that wouldn't happen. I believe he was involved in too many cases at one time to give my case the needed attention. read more

It's a simple question really; the basic essence of a case. After a consultation with a client for dissolution of marriage in which the client disclosed to you she was married in a foreign country, yet hired your services for dissolution of marriage, how does step 1 of all your legal experience not include verifying that there even exists a marriage to dissolve in the first place? Let me put it in a way you may understand better. If a person reports a car as stolen, would the police not verify that there was a car to be stolen in the first place? Yet, you agreed to take on the case without even veryfing basic information. You agreed to get your retainer fee, you agreed to represent the client, you assured her she had nothing to worry about. Unfortunately, Mr. Ponder, you neglected to perform your due diligence and all the while continued to pursue the case while fraudulently charging said client over $25,000 for over 16 months until a judge wiped the floor with your years of "experience" simply by starting at step 1 - the step you neglected to validate - that there was no marriage to dissolve in the first place. To say you are not qualified to even be a legal associate is an understatement. You are an embarrassment to legal law in the United States and the State of Florida. You are a complete fraud who led a client on for 14 months with your deception while siphoning hard earned money from a client who put trust in you. There are good attorneys, there are mediocre attorneys, and there are bad attorneys. You are none of the above. You are deceitful, neglect, and deserve to lose your ability to practice law. For anyone reading this review, I hope for your sake, you steer away from this conman and find a true attorney. read more

8 months and waiting still for a divorce no communication on Mr. Ponder end I've gone through 2 Paralegal who absolutely know nothing about my case except excuses. My case is a default case from the beginning, all I see is my 4,500.00 seems to be a bad investment, numerous calls with no foreseen outcome. 8 months is a long time for some of us who has put their lives on hold for what? This could have been handled differently as far as I'm concerned my case has been put on the shelf too long. I need closure and expect to get what I paid for, an attorney who will fight for my best interest. This is not the case. Each month I have been struggling for answers with nothing, but heart break stress and high blood pressure. This law firm has much to be desired. Jason Ponder is Not a good attorney! Will make you pay all this great amount of money to end up removing himself from the case for low fund . I'm a very low income and he promised me at the beginning to settle my case for not more than $5250 , I paid 4450 and didnt cover anything and they requested $2000 to cover the mediation, I told them that I dont have that much and I dont want the mediation but they refused to stay in the case, and they recommended to seek the legal aid to help me . Charged me $185 to withdrawl from the case shame on them taking advantage of their clients. Doesn't care about the client personally just after the money. Hands down not a good attorney to go to. I requested from the the office to speak to the manager but no one called me back . I hired him to get my ex raise the child support and paid every dime I worked very hard for and he left my case and didnt even call me discussing my options . If I didnt hire him I would have 4500 now . But my ex lowered my child support and I lost my money. I told his paralegal to help me out since they know my situation but they careless about their client and she recommended to seek for the legal aid. His paralegal Angela is awful. Too many times i had to call multiple times over several weeks to get her to do anything she was supposed to. It took several months to get her to scaduale the mediation. If you want an attorney who will sit back in , not fight for you, never contact you or do what he says ,worrying about money , and a horrible paralegal, then Jason is your guy. Jason Ponder my lawyer along with Marcos Marrero his paralegal case manager are who at this firm are handling my case. My life blew up in such a way really thought there was no way out. If I can be personal every lawyer (And there were many) that I spoke to gave me no hope at all. I called Mr. Ponder and instantly heard something else. It's been over a year and very frustrating however almost over. Law is complicated and I do not understand it except they do. When I have a question and with my case everyday there were so many, enter Marcos. He calls back asap or at the least will email and say "Let me check" He always gets back. If I don't here it just means he didn't know yet. You are not just a # to these 2. As I said some crucial things are still hanging and waiting, but I'm not. Oh 1 other thing. I thought at first Mr. Ponder didn't speak up. Wrong. The man of a few words knows exactly when to speak and WELL. I was terrified but Jason and Marcos nope. They just know what to do and when. We hired this firm for family law. Our first attorney was wonderful and we felt that she had our best interest as her concern. She left the firm and we were assigned to another attorney. Things at that point changed. Without going into personal matters, we were not happy. In my opinion, I would never hire this firm again. read more

Mine was an unusually unexpected experience with this firm. I never got beyond the appointment receptionist since apparently it would seem this firm somehow imagines the client works for them rather than the other way round. Apparently, if one must reschedule an initial consultation appointment, which this firm laughably advertises to be free, they won't see you at the rescheduled appointment without prepayment. Thankfully I discovered this before wasting my time, since not only did this policy make me uncomfortable, it left me the impression this bunch is the bus-bench type of legal practice. Look, I have no problem paying for services rendered. First meetings between clients and lawyers are most often just a short interview and unless you've prearranged specific services at that meeting, almost unilaterally they're free. After all, the lawyer must know why you're there before knowing how much to charge you, meaning you really don't get more than a pricing menu in the way of their services at that first meet and greet. You go away with zero legal advice and are left to ponder if their employment meets your needs, simple. I don't know about you but when I seek the services of an attorney, I'm not there to be directed by them or to be bullied, but to be advised and professionally represented, a fine distinction but one clearly not to be found at Ayo and Iken. In full disclosure, my appointment was made for their Seminole location but scheduled through their common number handling all their offices. I can't speak to their courtroom success, or a specific attorney because I didn't get beyond the phone gal but as for their business acumen, obviously that leaves much to be desired. As for my needs, I'd prefer a savvy attorney, one capable and professional, and most especially one who is not petty.
