Finding the entrance was quite difficult, you must enter the municipal building and go to the second level. There were no signs or guides indicating this, so we thought we walked into the wrong building at first. The library itself is beautiful and significant, but I feel like the organization of information and how it's delivered could be improved upon. There was just the one room of the library. No other rooms or exhibits were included with admission. My suggestion to the majority, stop by and peak inside the door to get a glimpse. We paid for admission and felt a bit let down. There are a few who will want to see such a significant library, and for them it will be worth it to pay the admission.

The tour here with the murals inside is absolutely incredible and a complete must when in Tlaxcala…read more They take you through all of the murals which depict the history of Tlaxcala, the Tlaxcaltecos, and the Spaniards from basically the beginning of their existence until fairly recent times (up to Porfirio Díaz). Our tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and it was fascinating learning about Tlaxcala's history with corn and tortillas, the four kings, and Tlaxcala as one of the early sites of Hernán Cortés' conquest. The murals are exquisite and absolutely beautiful. The tour runs hourly and takes about 45 minutes. First tours start at 10am, not sure when they end. Absolute must.
