It was more than enough food. The Sabich looked beautiful and whatever magic they did to the aubergine was fantaaaaastic. They were crunchy and wonderful. I noticed that after the kitchen put out at least three orders with the inedible fries, and perhaps other food issues, the cook was strolling around the restaurant. I guess his work was done? To expect that your bartenders will also be restaurant servers in a spacious restaurant in a major hotel is simply ridiculous. And then to subject those servers to customer complaints, because your cook is too lazy to make fresh food, is simply cruel. Want to trim your costs? The restaurant is centrally located, just next to the Limmat river a few steps from Bellevue. I think they are convinced that due to the prime location it's not necessary to be friendly and prompt? A good example was that when ordering another round of drinks, we had to wait 30 mins (no special orders) while some of the staff was just standing around the bar. In addition, it doesn't feel like you are welcome, they seem to be annoyed by all the guests. I've been to Cedre at their Badenerstrasse location which is much better service wise but in summer they have limited outdoor seating capacity. If you are ok with soso service and decent food at a prime location, do go to Le Cedre Bellevue. Else, I'll prefer to take my business somewhere else, their sister restaurant for example!
