Outside of our Honeymoon Suite the Magnolia

Words can not express how much myself, my husband and our family enjoyed our wedding day. Martha and Richard the innkeepers and their son Lance who officiated made our wedding ceremony so beautiful, comfortable and stress-free. All or the details were taken care of as to lead to a very smooth and seamless event for everyone. The package includes a stay in the honeymoon suite as well and the Magnolia Suite was perfect for my husband and I. I would highly recommend the Azalea Plantation Bed & Breakfast for your small wedding ceremonies, elopement or just an intimate and romantic stay for two. You can not get this kind of treatment, atmosphere and attention to detail at some boring chain hotel. Kelly & Marvin

My husband and I recently stayed at Azalea Plantation to celebrate our anniversary. My husband surprised me and picked this B&B based on good online reviews and we were not disappointed. Martha and her husband own the B&B and were very nice, hospitable and thought of every detail to make our stay spectacular. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by Martha and were given a tour. We went to our room where champagne, fresh baked cookies and chocolate covered strawberries awaited us. Our Room was very comfortable and charming. Breakfast in the main house was delicious. If you're looking for a fun way to celebrate an occasion or just get away from it all - The Azalea Plantation will not disappoint.

Vincent helped consolidate our luggage at checkin and with wheeling us to the room. Evening reception is from 5:30 to 7 in the lower bar area. Excellent bfast on the 7th floor including made to order omelettes by the chef. Nice selection of fresh fruit and usual full bfast items. You can sit inside or outside in the terrace. I wish the weekday bfast ended a bit later 9:30am instead of 9am. At the lobby there is a coffee shop where you can also pick up salads, fruit and jello cups and juices. 3 elevators mean not much waiting to get to your room. Parking is by valet, a bit expensive at $60, but the valets are fast. Cheaper parking nearby means you have to deal with hauling luggage. It's a it hard to get to the entrance - look for the E symbol on the parking cones on the street. Water pressure was good with plenty of hot water. 2 air conditioner controls - one in the bedroom and one in the living room meant we could set the temperatures to our liking. A larger moni-fridge, microwave, coffee machine, ironing board and iron in the room was convenient.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in…read more 1) The front desk clerk that checked me in didn't speak English clearly. 2) Check in took nearly 30 minutes because he couldn't find my reservation on the computer. 3) Charged me a $50 deposit even though I already paid everything online. 4) Room is disgusting. No microwave or ironing board like it says online. Could give many examples, but for one, prison bathrooms are probably nicer. 5) Checked my bank statement and they charged me twice ($325 x 2). Went to the front desk the next day and showed them the double charge on my card. This guy was also hard to understand. He REFUSED to reverse the second charge saying it wasn't his fault. I'm still working with the bank to try and get the overage back. 6) Needed change for the vending machine. The first guy who messed up my check in and double charged me gave me $19 after I handed him a 20. I saw what he did and asked him to recount. He just kept saying it was right and wouldn't count it again, but eventually relented and (surprise) he was wrong. No apology. Just tossed another $1 at me with a scoff. 7) Feral dogs hangout in the parking lot at night. If you're thinking of staying here, there are some nice looking dumpsters nearby that are just as pleasant and much cheaper.

There doesn't seem to be valet (or any kind of help noticable) when checking in. Not that I needed it, but that was my first impression. Parking is in the "Permit" required areas. Okay -- kind of figured that out snaking around the building but it should all be easier to understand coming in cold. Being part of a group, with a block of rooms, I booked a king with a sofabed. Ideally, I wanted two queens but I was too lazy at the time to call and ask and of course they were sold out at check in. Okay, no problem, I have that sofabed and for two nights we can deal with it. As we left for dinner I stopped at the desk asking if it could be made up for our return. Well, you would have thought I was asking them to do something illegal. Ah, no, I don't think we can do that. Let me check with the manager. Nope. Can't do that, and housekeeping has already left for the day. Everything SHOULD be there for you when it opens up and everything else needing SHOULD be in the closet. Well, it was but that experience was just a little weird. Otherwise, the hot and humid room did cool off with the AC after not too long and the place has a great location just around the corner from the real action of what reminds me of a mini Nashville.

Check in was easy, we were given a room on the 4th floor. We have stayed at Hyatt Place before in different cities so this was expected. The room had two queen beds, a nice L shaped couch, refrigerator and desk. The dressing area and restroom were decent. The water pressure left a lot to be desired in the shower. Our neighbors on the floor above us made a lot of noise late at night, like dragging and fighting or something. Had to call the front desk to report it. The clerk said she was there alone but would call and send security if it got worse. I guess she reached them because the noise stopped. Breakfast was free. I didn't eat breakfast but it was very nice and lots of options. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and very pretty little area. Parking was plentiful in the back, but your keycard was needed to get in. They had a nice pool and laundry area. Their market was nicely stocked, wish I had tried the giant cookies.

The location is great and many cute bars, cafes, BBQ and restaurants near by. Plenty of street parking available. The front desk was polite and friendly.
