What should have been a normal pickup turned into one of the scariest moments I've ever had as a pet parent. When I arrived to pick them up, they handed me a dog that looked like Luna... but it wasn't her. It took me a second to realize, and in that moment my heart dropped. At the same time, another person was literally about to walk out the door with MY dog. My baby. If I had arrived even one minute later, Luna would have been gone. I cannot even describe the panic and fear I felt in that moment. What made it worse was the way it was handled. The man at reception, with gray hair, was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of apologizing or trying to understand how such a serious mistake happened, he said, "each person should recognize their own dog." No concern. No accountability. No empathy.
