The Bordeaux airport is fresh and modern. The terminals are open and offer travelers plenty of space. Security check is quick and efficient and the staff are helpful and informative. There are shops and restaurants on both side of security. The frequent flyer lounge is small but adequate and very near to the passport control station. Free, good WiFi and easy access to both public transport (Bordeaux 's tram system is great!), taxis and rental cars make arriving and leaving the airport very easy. read more

Do not rent a car at the airport. The car rental companies are thieves. They will find a way to charge you extra. Europcar cancelled my reservation due to late arrival and charged me much more. Entreprise charged me for a small scratch that was already there but told me to not report since it was very tiny. Those rental car employees are liars and know you have to catch your plane. Very bad business ethic. To avoid at all cost!! read more

Smaller airport and this is more about the destination. Baggage claim was close to our arrival gate. The oversized wine bottle was funny to see. Some shopping and restaurants. We had some great coffee and Pain Au Chocolate at Cafe Des Grand Hommes. Our rental car return was quick and seamless. There is some construction currently. Not a long walk to the gate and security moved quickly despite the queue on a Thursday around 9 am. Mix of standard entry and portable stairs for Boarding. Not too many options after security for restaurants or seating in lower A Gate areas. Saw a small Duty Free shop. Overall, ok and not too busy with short distances between points given the size of the airport. read more

Basic airport. I would call it small to mid size The facilities do not seem to have been upgraded as compared to other European airport. Carpets are still old and stained, the counters are basic and crowded. Once get to the gates, there are few options for food or shopping. Still if you need to get in/out of Bordeaux, this is an option. Public buses connect with the city and train stations. read more

Bordeaux airport is one of the smaller airports i visited. Certainly not an airport in my best airports list. First, the signage is very unclear where to check in. For klm/air france it is hall b. Then, to get bag checked, move to hall a. Second, If you want to enjoy the lounge, take a sharp right after luggage checkin, just before passport control for european flights. Lounge is basic:some drinks and crisp are main selections for food. No newspaper, magazines... Third, connection with public transport is mediocre and involves a bit of a walk (for unknown reason, as bus could easily ride up to arrival hall). Fourth,despite small size, it takes considerable time to check in and pass through security checks. read more

I would avoid this airport if I could. Give yourself plenty of time to get here due to the traffic in Bordeaux in the morning. As there is a ton of construction at the airport you need time to get to the gates and walk around all the construction. Once in it's fine and quick :-) read more

Very small airport for moving around nearby countries. Air France of course is one of the airlines. Its easy to move around in and go through customs. They check your bag and make you dump your water but no shoes are taken off or things like that. No customs forms need to be filled out. Quick walk to your terminal and some shops inside for food and drinks and gifts. read more

So this is the worst airport I've ever had to depart from. Even worst than the Caribbean airports who are known for taking things slow. As I stand here all I can think of is how painfully slow the process of getting to the gate is. First, we had to wait for folks to show up to check bags. Then we had to go to guest services for Air France because there was a problem in the line for while checking the bags. Next we had to wait outside of closed glass doors for security to screen us and now?.....standing outside of the door where our gate is waiting for an employee to show up so we can get on a flight that boards in 30mins. We have never had to stand in a line to get to our gate....to get through bag drop off and security, yes, but not to get to the gate. There are probably close to 300+ people in the line and only ONE check point up ahead validating passports and boarding passes. It is hot and miserable and there's not air conditioning in this airport, newsflash it's 2019! Pls install AC and have better organization to take care of passengers who are flying through your airport. Terrible!! read more

The airport of Bordeaux Merignac is small and cosy. The staff is helpful and more relaxed than in bigger airports (it's only normal since they have less people and stress to deal with), there are sufficient areas to relax and wait to board your plane. The duty free area is also small. Every time I have travelled via Merignac, the flight was on time, there weren't any delays for the luggage. In general, a smooth traveling experience! read more

This is a fine airport. The check in and security processes were easy and the staff/security officers seemed to be adept in handling the public. Some of the waiting areas are a bit tight and the Air France lounge is not the best, but all in all, this place functions well. read more

My new hub. Not the best airport I have seen but it does the job. I usually take the low cost airlines to fly home and the terminal for low cost flights is really not fancy, but it has the bare minimum needed, including a small duty free shop if I need to bring something home. The gate system is not the best either because they basically make you queue twice, but at least both times are inside. read more
