The owner himself was selling and was smoking right at the little booth, with all the bread and pastries right in front of him. When I told him that I find this rather disgusting he said that If I have an issue with him smoking I should go elsewhere. Which I did. Thankfully there are plenty of other bakeries around!

This schanzenbackerei is both half hidden (behind Baumwall station) and in a really great location,…read morenear to the harbour, hafencity, my office. As these stores go it's a pretty big one, with plenty of seating inside and a little outside too. As well as the standard pastries and sandwiches they also serve pasta dishes here - although I've never had one. It's basically a pretty good, if not particularly unique, bakery near the harbour.
