I recently discovered this outstanding pecan farm complete with a delightful retail shop. I was thrilled to find this place because I grew up with pecan and walnut trees all around my neighborhood and love to eat nuts nearly every day. Needless to say I bought a bunch of stuff and everything was really fresh and delicious! There's sizes and flavors of pecans as well as candies, jellies, pies and jams and more. . I've since discovered that this is a favorite spot of locals as well. You can test different pecans and you can even watch a video about hoelw the pecans are picked and prepared, very cool. in addition there's Healthy pecan oil and gift packs are just some of the items in the store that you'll be happy to take home. Very conveniently located just a few miles south of Fairhope in a pecan orchard! Pecans are a source of vitamins A and E, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, ptoassium and several B vitamins and zinc. Zinc is an important nutrient for proper growth and a strong immune system. Pecans are an excellent choice for people on a salt or sodium restricted diet because they are sodium-free. They are a perfect way to increase the fiber in your diet. A one ounce serving of pecans has the same amount of fiber as a medium-sized apple. Pecans currently belong to the protein group in the USDA's Food Guide Pyramid, along with meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dried beans. Farm to table pecans and oranges are found in this little family owned and operated business. They offered a number of different varieties of pecans both raw or prepared in various delectable candy forms. The unshelled nuts were available for tasting. Mmmmm. Raw shelled nuts ranged in price around $14 pound. We picked up a 9 pound bag of oranges which were so fresh that the leaves were still green for about $12/ bag. The oranges were flavorful and juicy. I also tried a freshly prepared turtle. The caramel was creamy but the candy could have used a few more nuts. The staff was friendly and helpful. They offer a wide variety of gift tins and will ship. I met the owner last year and was treated very kindly. I purchased about $400 of pecans to send to family and friends. One person commented that the salted ones tasted spoiled so when I went in to purchase more nuts I mentioned it. The clerk immediately became defensive and said no one had ever complained. She then asked the manager who agreed with her. She went on and on. If she would have just said I am sorry you had that experience I would have been happy. Just because it hasn't happened before doesn't mean that something could not have spoiled the bag I had!! Maybe a hole in the bag, sunlight, etc could have ruined mine! No customer service at this place. I never saw the manager and a simple im sorry for your experience would have made me feel better instead of treating me like a liar! read more

This farm is on the way from Gulf Shores, AL to Mobile. We were returning to New Orleans from our beach vacation and stopped by to check it out. They have a huge farm, with many hundred year old pecan trees. There is a store that is open year round. They sell shelled pecans, 13 kinds of candied pecans, pecan oil, pecan pies (sugar free, chocolate and regular), honey, young potatoes. The people, who run the farm are very nice. They were very welcoming and explained everything to us. We bought the sugar free pecan pie (delicious), shelled pecans, praline pecans, etc. They also have almonds, peanuts, etc that they don't grow but still carry in their store. It is worth stopping by and checking out. They will ship it as well for you. read more

Been a customer since our first visit several years ago. We were fortunate to learn about pecan farming & this great family. Pecans are tasty and my husband loves the dark chocolate covered pecans. I use the natural pecans for baking and now have pecan oil- lower in saturated fat then other oils. Love that I can order online too. read more

The pecans are trustworthy here and the staff knowledgeable and courteous. The one complaint I have is that several years ago their divinity was divine. Since then (probably 10 years?) they must have changed their recipe because where it used to be fluffy yet crisp it is now gummy and unpalatable. I wonder why they changed it. Since I can buy pecans anywhere, I won't be back since the divinity was the draw. read more

They have sent out a sugar- free pie, when it should have been regular. When told about the problem they did nothing about it. We still had faith in their product and ordered a tin to be delivered- this was never received. Called them and they said they would send out a tin immediately. Got the invoice today and it wasn't sent out until 2 days later. We have no idea if the gift will get there. Very disappointed. read more

Horrible experience. Do not use this company for online orders! I thought all my gifts across the country were sent Dec 12. They made a mistake and finally tell me today - they will ship sometime in 2014. Panic when you realize you trusted some company with your credit card and order gifts for 9 people and now nobody will get their Christmas gifts and they let you know too late to order from anyone else. Talked to 3 people and they were too busy to care. They just do not care at all about their loyal customers (I've ordered for years) and were totally unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation they put me in. This is the best place to buy pecans. At B&B pecans in Fairhope, AL, you will get fresh pecans (unlike a certain other store in Alabama). Pecans are a fragile nut, and they spoil easily once shelled, so they must be stored properly or they go rancid. These are the freshest pecans here! I got pecan halves, pieces, and "pecan meal," which is far better than flour to coat your fish, salmon, or chicken, and then roast in the oven, sauté, or deep fry. You will never go back to flour. I make wild rice cakes, dredged in pecan meal, too. B&B pecans is the only place where I've seen pecan oil, which I love! Pecan oil is healthier than the commercial (all the brands that you buy in the USA) olive oils. Bonus: Pecan oil is not only higher in all of the phenols, etc., but it also has a high "smoke" point, which means that you can even deep-fry with it, if you wanted. This assures you that it won't burn as some oils do. The pecan itself is a very healthy (and sort of rare) nut, but it must be fresh before you eat it, or roast them, or cook with them. They are great raw or cooked,use them in salads, casseroles, and all manner of desserts. I LOVE B&B pecans!
