I just had my cabinets in my kitchen and bathrooms refaced by Marcos Antunes, The Wood Artist. I…read moream so pleased. The quality of his work is excellent. It could have been risky for Marcos Antunes to call himself an artist, unless, as is the case, he actually is! He takes pride in his work and demonstrates that every step of the way. Often times in review you only hear what went wrong. In this case, I wish to tell you what went right. Marcos shows up when he says he will. He even comes to finish the job after payment to attend to the couple of items on my punch list. Do not be fooled by other cabinet refacers. It is extremely important that the cabinets are painted with an oil based paint. This is what Marcos uses. I am certain that it would be less expensive and less of a hassle to use a water based product, but I am also certain that the finished product would be not the same high quality. I cannot imagine receiving more value per dollar spent than I did with this project. I love my "new" cabinets. They have refreshed the look of my entire home.

Wouldn't surprise me. Blatantly ignore messages and calls pertaining to scheduling, and would only work on my project sometimes 3 hours a day (extending deadlines even more). Overall terrible experience and would not recommend. Can't stress this enough: UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

Original contracted amount was $3585.00 plus $300.00 to hang barn doors. There was extra fees added on the day of completion for demo and haul away of a 12" wide wall that was two 2 x 4 and drywall, to put in new closet. Total bid for job was $3585.00 plus 150.00 each for two doors (300.00 total) we paid an extra $240.00 when job was complete for demo and haul off which is usually part of the bid for a job. total final bill was $4125.00 I was sent a contract for services and asked to put 2000.00 down. I expressed my concern for putting this large amount of money down because there was a review on BBB that was not good. Both the wife and husband called to reassure me they were honest people and professional. The contract for work was signed and down payment of 2,000.00 was on 9/7/23 work was to start on 10/30/2024 Date project completed 1/31/2024 On 10/30/2023 Darwin came to our home to take a few extra measurement and informed us there was a delay and work would begin 11/4/2023 Somewhere before that date Darwin messaged me and said he had covid and would let me know when he was well and could start my job. I was understanding and wished him the best for his recovery. He stated I was his first job once he recovered. After no communication for almost a month, I reached out and Darwin stated he was on the mend and could start my project after Thanksgiving. Darwin message at that time am delayed start date again. Stated after Thanksgiving beginning of December he would start the install. Darwin messaged beginning of December and put off the install date until an undetermined time. Said he would get back to me as covid threw his schedule off. After waiting another week and several unanswered text, I began to get worried that I was being scammed. I called Darwin again. That is when Darwin admitted to me that he measured wrong for the closet and it had to be re built. I explained to him I would have felt better if he was honest about the mistake and kept me up to date with the project instead of blowing me off. We then agreed after Christmas he would start as we had family coming for the Holidays. He told me he would not charge me to hang the barn doors due to all the issues and stalling we had. Beginning of January came and the install date was put off time after time until 1/18/2024 when he finally came for the install. He showed up by himself. Never brought a single person to help him. Told me the job would take at least a week to complete. It took a total of over two weeks. He never showed up at the time he said he would be here and some days not at all. On 1/19/2024 when he was supposed to be at my job. He posted on his FB that he was at a an expo of some sort. Without informing us, he cut wood in our bedroom which caused dust to cover our entire home. We did not have any of our things covered. Our bed all of our clothes from the closet, everything. We had to change our sheets the first night after he left at 7:00 so we could sleep that night. The next day we covered all of the things in our bedroom. Once the job was complete, I had to pay cleaners to come in to do a deep clean (250.00) and all of our clothes had to be washed. Every day when he left I had to clean our bathroom. He would use the bathroom and leave the lid up constantly making a mess on the toilet rim and floor. The final two days he was here, he was very irritated because he formed me he could not keep coming out here, he had other jobs to do. This was not our fault. He informed me he was bidding other jobs and working on other projects when he was skipping days coming to our home or showing up after 12:00. He forgot to bring supplies to finish the job such as molding, paint, handles for drawers... I suggested he make a list of the items he needed for the final day so he could finish. The final day he was here, I went in to see how he was doing around 4:30. He informed me that was the last day he would be coming. I had to choose either he could hang the doors or install the molding. He informed me he needed extra parts to hang the doors. The parts were little spacer washers to make the doors clear the drawer handles. I told him I would not be paying final payment until the job was completed. He got upset and refused to look at me stating I was going to pay him. I asked him to show me what he needed. He told me 11 washer, spacers that looked like a sample he handed me. My husband and I drove up to Lowes and Home depot and purchased parts from both stores to ensure he had what he needed. After arriving home, he told us one of the washers we purchased would work but he needed more. I drove back to Home Depot and purchased the remaining parts. He was at our home until approx 10:00 that evening. He brought the final bill and I paid him in cash asking if he would be taking the remaining debris from the job with him
