I really miss this place. A large store on 2 floors…read more Downstairs is what I think may be catalogue returns and overmakes. Very cheap clothing, undies, shoes, crockery and kitchen stuff, gardening equipment, sweeties, CHEAP branded toiletries and cosmetics eg famous name moisturisers normally 20 squid for £3.99, tons of tools and DIY stuff including paint. It is mainly known names..may be end of line. I bought a Wonderbra for £3.99! Upstairs is THe bit for me. They have carpets, flooring, bedding furniture, curtains etc but thecraft supplies are top notch and cheap!!! Big range of cheap and gorgeous fabrics..clothing or household, patterns, wool. Whatever your hobby or craft you will find something here. I saw an overlocker (normally about £350 for £60! I may have to go the 200 miles back soon as I have withdrawal symptoms and cannot find a lot of the stuff online and certainly not as cheap.

Today I went for some items,,, but today my wife and I actually spent some time looking at what they actually sell. Their store in Freeman street is a gold mine of everything and the experienced staff really know what they do and don't have. We need to keep such companies going,,, because as you all know,, what you see on the internet does not always mean value for money. Please take your time and go and see what they sell,,, because if you don't, they will disappear and then you will be sad. Kevin worrell

Lees furnishers was established in 1901 when Arthur Lee set up his business in modest premises in Grimsby offering a selection of carpets, linoleum, beds and bedsteads. An old photograph of King Edward VII's visit to Grimsby in 1916 shows billboards outside the shop advertising Lees' home furnishings. Today Lees furnishers is run by third and fourth generation members of the Lee family - Arthur's grandsons, John and Michael, and great-grandson Graham. In 2001 Lees celebrated 100 years of trading. Much has changed since 1901, but they still remain true to the values that inspired lasting loyalty among generations of customers. It is expensive but has always been known as top quality. Whether you're looking for the traditional or the contemporary, Lees has moved with the times to bring elegant home furnishings combined with value, first class service and after sale care. Upmarket may be the term. A little too older person chic for mehence the 3 stars.

The floor assistant was polite and knowledgeable and arranged for a fitter to come and measure up and quote for supply and fitting. When our quote came in it was nearly £900. This was for a 2m x 3m room that was mostly taken up by a bath, wall to wall vanity units, a shower cubicle and a toilet (so not a lot of empty space really). When we queried the quote over the telephone, the quote miraculously came down by £100 (supposedly quoted in error). We shopped around and went to Parkers of Brigg who had the exact same flooring at "full price" for nearly £200 cheaper. Lees wouldn't price match so we gladly took our business elsewhere. Would I recommend Lees of Grimsby. NO! My advice, look around.

There is loads of shops around (mainly for women) like Primark and Claire's. Trying to get from the parking garage to the mall with a stroller was the worst experience. No good signage, no easy way to navigate. We parked on level 2 and discovered the lifts are only on Level 4, 6 and 8 and even when on level 4 we had to go a roundabout way to eventually get back to our car on level 2 after multiple trips up and down the stairs carrying baby in the pram. On top of all of this there is a fee for parking £1-8+, even in the popular tourist destination of Santa Monica, California parking is free for the first 3 hours. This is why brick and mortar stores are closing down and why online shopping is way better.
