At Xmas they have a good selection of lights etc. As a bonus they do give nectar points with purchases & the staff always ask if you have a card so as not to miss out if you collect them. Fair sized car park with easy access to local bypass & main routes. It's very close to a couple of discount carpet places & that particular area is being developed with two new super Market superstores. Preferred store for me in this area.

Although not the biggest store it has a good range for home decorating including paints and wallpaper, kitchens, bathrooms, garden furniture, plantsm and other diy related items. I have always found staff helpful but in comparison to the rival B&Q, they seem a bit sparse of the shop floor if you are looking for advice. Homebase regularly have 10% days or the like so if I were buying something big I would hang on till the next one or try and negotiate a discount.

It's good to visit when the local warehouse store or topshop store has ran out of your size! The restaurant food is ok, fair prices but nothing special really. Just the usual soup, sausages, beans thing. It does serve an all day breakfast I think that's promoted throughout the store. The staff here are really helpful and friendly they'll chat with anyone any age about what they're buying or what they're up to and the makeup staff are really helpful and knowledgeable about their aimed product. Generally this is a very nice store, easily accesible from the main high street or the hill street centre.

I was asked if I needed help getting the Lawnmower into my car, a gentleman assistant arrived to help.He proceeded to pull my large trolley to my car. What I hadn't realised was my boot was full of bricks spades and all sorts of stuff? I panicked thinking there is no way this Lawnmower is going to fit in my boot? The man emptied my boot totally, then put the Lawnmower in then reloaded the bricks spades and everything else that had been taken out and made sure my back door closed perfectly!! What a star! What a lovely helpful patient man. Excellent service over and above the call of duty!! He needs to be mentioned in dispatches!! I think he was called Neil Parker ?

Which wasn't said on the website so I couldn't use the lawnmower which was only taken out of box and left inside. Now I cannot return as it's outside of the window so now I'm stuck with a new lawn mower without any oil which I haven't started and now I cannot return it. They also sell household items like bedding, kitchenware, laundry baskets etc. And have a pretty good range of food items like crisps, biscuits, coffee etc. Often these are a little closer to their sell by dates than you may find in the big supermarkets, but nevertheless they are still within the sell by dates, and significantly cheaper! This is a brilliant shop, overall. There is one problem, however - the check outs! There is always a queue, and there's always a problem if something doesn't have a price sticker on it. Any queries have to be referred to a manager, so you're left standing there while they call one over. Other than that, it's a great shop, and worth the inconvenience of the check out queues in order to grab a bargain!

They also sell bits of stuff you will need for the garden like ties and bird food. They also sell a small selection of fruit and veg which is cheaper than the supermarkets. Its family run and has been there for years.
