They stock all the usual Tesco goods plus clothes, toys, household items, white goods, in fact, almost everything could want to buy on a normal afternoon shopping trip. The checkouts are efficient and the supervisors are often on hand to guide you to the least busy till. All of the staff have, in my experience, shown themselves interested in doing their jobs with as much cheerfulness as they can.

The things I like best about this particular store is that its not too large in size; Ive been to some branches of Tesco and they seem to be too big. The walk from toilet rolls to beans seems to be miles long! I get lost in them! But theres no danger of that in this Tesco because its just the right size! It does the general diy stuff you'd expect with some gardening stuff, furniture, and a good selection of homeware such as crockery, bedding, and they do plenty of nice things to decorate the house. The best thing is if you sign up for a free spend and save card so every time you buy something, you get points and these add up to vouchers to use in store. Another bonus is that they have 10% off days quite frequently where everything, even reduced stuff has 10% off. We've dropped on some great savings here and often wait for these weekends to save money. Customer service is great here and if you need to return something you can do it without much trouble at all. All its missing is a coffee shop!

The store looks fairly nice from the outside and is reasonably spacious and presentable for a Homesense store, which can be a little like a non-clothing, home goods version of TKMaxx, their parent company. They had a small selection of furniture and some interesting items, some prices better than others. I like how this store is open late into the evening, which for night-owls like myself is ideal, they're open until 10 pm during the week, closing a little earlier on weekends. I did find the store to be both understaffed and untidy, the shelves were full of rubbish left by customers, including half-eaten food and empty cups, I understand this isn't the store's fault but it was just rather unpleasant, and with no staff members on the shop floor, it wasn't getting tied up to look more presentable. Again, a lack of staff on the shop floor meant I struggled to find what I was looking for. 4* - I like this HomeSense store better than their Manchester Arndale location, it is larger and has a nice range of stock, yet they could for sure improve the staffing levels and cleanliness around the store.

I love the grandeur and scale of some of the items; there are enormous Baroque mirrors which lounge beside huge terracotta pots- its like being in the Land of The Giants. Union Jack painted cabinets stand patriotically next to mirrored Art Deco inspired dressing tables and there are pictures galore promoting everything from Pop Art to Hollywood legends. Home Sense's garden range is definitely worth taking note of, there are table and chairs in ice cream colours and last year I saw a stone table and bench which was absolutely divine and I still kick myself for not buying it. So I have versed you well Yelpers on the stock, now for the prices! This is one of the cheapest priced shops I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Cabinets costing £600 elsewhere are £250 here, crockery is a steal and glasses are great quality and £13 for a box of 6 champagne flutes. I am serious, you blink twice with astonishment when you go to the till. What is appealing about this quirky treasure trove is its ever changing stock.There is no point admiring a Home Sense bargain found by someone else and hoping you can get it for yourself. The majority of the stock are one-offs and will not be featured again so this is a buy-it-when-you-see-it type of place. Yay! I'm a fan!

It could be better lit and sign-posted in the car-park area, especially for pedestrians as it did seem a little dangerous for me, as I struggled to find my way out. Pretty much an average ASDA, the selection was fine, I also like the Scan and Go app where you can use your mobile phone to scan items as you shop, to save time at the checkouts. The staff could have been slightly more helpful in regards to finding items. 3* - OK sums it up, multiple better ASDA stores (or supermarkets) in the area to do your shopping, but it's in a good location and useful for the people of Warrington.

The village has a delightful market in the centre where one can buy dressed crab, cooked whole lobster and my absolute total, complete favourite, in all the world, potted brown shrimps, sealed in butter. Forget caviar and lobster this, with good buttered toast, is the true food of the gods. Ambrosia. There are flower sellers, cake sellers, sellers of LP's from the 1960's, cheese sellers offering small batch local cheeses, folks with woodfired ovens for sourdough pizzas, beer and wine sellers, upmarket hand made chocolates, oriental and Jamaican food (I don't think I could face goat curry) and a fish & chip shop. I'm sure I've left out a lot of purveyors in this snapshot. It's also teeming with competitively priced coffee places, cafes and bars and as the competition is so fierce there's no downmarket offerings.

It has improved a lot since my last visit, the store is now much cleaner and free of clutter to warrant an upgraded rating. The selection in the food hall was good, they had a nice range of products, again this might be slightly less compared to other stores, but I still was able to find the majority of what I needed which was handy. This store is also using the new Mobile Scan and Pay, where you can scan items and bag them as you shop in the Food Hall, pay via your phone and walk out, this is a feature I love but it always makes me feel strange as you just walk out of the store, it makes you feel like a thief, even though you have paid, you do get a payment proof on your phone incase someone does stop you, but I am worried about the security of this if someone is dishonest. Most of the staff seemed friendly and happy to help when required. Above-average Marks and Spencer store, a great brand to have in Altrincham if you don't feel like going into the city centre or another larger store.
