You always get a free retest, not anymore, Halfords charged me another £20 as i carried out the minor work myself - leading to a total charge of £70 Mot - without telling you first of these hidden fees. Inside the Halfords store there are two levels to it and the staff are helpful when I have asked them for something. They sell things for your car as well as car roof boxes that they will fit for you and bikes as well as car seats for children and in the summer they do camping sets. They have offers on around the store and usually on the bikes and tom tom and sat navs

Upstairs they have a furniture showroom which is clean and well managed there is usually someone on hand to help if you need any advice. Downstairs is the usual mix of homewares, ornaments , paints and Diy stuff, there are definately bargains to be had in store and on the whole the staff here are helpful and will help locate stuff from another store if necessary. Biggest downfall, they take ages to answer their phones, customer service over the phone is their major let down point and they can be quite abrupt and not very helpful definately a much better experience in store than trying to find or locate an item over the phone.

Solihull. I asked for assistance finding an item. The member…read moreof staff at the till told me, if it wasn't on the shelf they didn't have it. I asked if they could find out if another store had that item and they said "no". I asked another member of staff to help me find an item and he rolled his eyes when I asked him if he could take me to it. I drove to Stratford-on-Avon where a member of staff was very helpful. He looked it up on the system & apparently Solihull did in fact have numerous hooks and so did Evesham. So I drove to Evesham this evening & bought them as time was of the essence. Solihull needs to train its staff in customer service and IT!

I do like having a wander around B&Q though and have more than once gone in with something and asked them to color match it with their paint. They did come close to it both times so would recommend this to others. The garden centre section usually has some great priced plants, pots and trees in so that to is always worth a quick look. The staff really do go the extra mile to, I am not the most clued up on things I need for around the house - how to get gloss paint off the brick walls!! The people I have asked have always helped and never judged!!!
