When we got to the counter, we were told that the books were priced "as we like." So basically, you find a book or movie or CD that you like and give the shop a donation. A great option for students or travelers looking for a hunt or distraction. I hope to be back soon!

Wish I had discovered this space sooner. Mecànic is a cafe/gallery/bookstore all in one, and thus…read morehas such a unique vibe. It is my new favourite place to work in Barcelona. If you get bored, you can flip through their collection of ultra-hip photo-books. You'll usually find me seated near the front with a café con leche and a small food item. I highly recommend trying one of their bagels - I love the one with salmon, avocado, and cream cheese. They also have some delicious vegan baked goods. The high ceilings of the garage/warehouse space makes the cafe seem very spacious. Wifi works great, and you can ask them for a power bar to charge your devices. The place is a little out of the way, so I don't think too many people come by (especially on weekdays). I appreciate the quiet atmosphere, and that it's a short walk from my apartment in Gràcia.

This is a fairly basic but useful library off a beautiful courtyard in an academic area. The…read morelibrary is open and "modern" style. Magazines, books, computers and I was able to get a password for wifi access. Very close to Las Ramblas and the tourist area.
