I was just at this establishment about an hour ago.. and unfortunately, I was treated pretty rudely in a very short amount of time. To briefly explain... I ordered, paid for the order, then my wrap was being prepared. I see the worker putting the finishing touches on my wrap, crisping it on the grill.. so I wait to be handed my order. While waiting, someone else comes in.. orders and pays, customizes their bowl.. receives their bowl ....and then is given an extra bowl that a customer didn't pick up and was told it was to make up for the "wait".. meanwhile, the worker who made my wrap has long disappeared and my order has been sitting on the grill. That person who came in after me, has now left. I only received my order a few minutes after that. Btw there were no other people in line waiting. Just me, standing there for over 15 minutes waiting on an order that was done. Also, the way I was talked to was not okay when I was asked was 'said bowl' my order. So unfortunately, this came across as racially motivated, since I was treated as less of a priority. And it's really rare that I feel that way but... this was a weirdly rude experience. Walked in ordered one chicken shawarma and one bowl, walked in at 10:50 and didn't leave until 11:45 with absolutely no food. I'm not a person to write a review for anything but the response I got for waiting over 30 mins for NO food was fucking absurd. After the whole entire service staff stared at me and my boyfriend the whole time someone finally had the decency to come over and announce that they were out of chicken after already sitting and waiting for 30 mins. We finally got the nerve to ask for our money back and I just wanted to give the lady some advice that it would've been respectful if she would've just told us they were out of chicken from the start.. even though I seen chicken being served after we ordered so it I absolutely know that was a lie. Falafel Bowl is so good my fav. So yummy. The Zatar is perfection. 10/10. Yummy! :) the Falafel Bowl is my go to. It has everything I need to get me going. The Zatar is delicious the spices are so good and fresh and the olive oil is really flavorful and quality. Sunday, I had the pleasure of eating a late lunch here. The outdoor patio scene was perfect for catching up with old friends. The right kind of intimate but open airy setting. The waterfall in the background made the scene so picturesque. The food was okay, nothing above average. It was a bit lukewarm, not hot like I prefer it. I also wish they had more drink options like diet or zero sugar. The staff was welcoming, but one waitress in particular was a little too obsessive. She kept interrupting our quality time, trying to provide samples of some kind of lemonade. After about the third visit to our table, I became annoyed. I also wish they provided table servicing for guest dining in. The overall beauty of the restaurant was astonishing. I just loved the indoor piano and how all the staff were wearing either Hijab or Taqiyah. I will certainly dine here again. read more

Last night I dined at Baba Saj, which is a Mediterranean restaurant in Oak lawn, Illinois. After viewing the menu online, the food looked delicious, so I had to give it a try. I ordered a side of hummus, which came with a piece of Pita Bread. It costed $6.99, and it was the highlight of my meal. It was very tasty and an ample amount. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Pita Meal, which costed $12.99 plus tax. This meal came with a small container of Pickle Garlic Sauce which was delicious. There were a decent number of fresh fries that were tasty. A can of soda was included, but unfortunately, I don't drink soda. The vegetable side was miniscule, and not as pictured on the website. The vegetables contained 2 or 3 carrot slices and a handful of olives, so that was disappointing. And finally, the Chicken Shawarma pita was disappointing. It lacked meat and was very dry. Overall, this meal was okay, but extremely overpriced for the quality of food that was served. The way the food was packaged was also a turn off. The fries were scattered everywhere in the container. Good prices for the big portions you get. This is vegetarian friendly and has many choices beyond just falafel and tabbouli. Clean place and it beat expectations. It basically is a counter service restaurant where you order off the menu and they call you when it's ready. The Vegetarian Platter is a good value. It's $11.99 for lots of food. This comes with falafel, pitas, and 2 salads. Falafel is crispy without being burnt. These are also big pieces. Among the salads are favorites. There's baba ghannouch, grape leaves, hummus, Jerusalem salad, and tabbouli. For meat eaters there's chicken and lamb meat. There's lots to choose from such as shawarma. Baked goods also are here.
