We just walked in at 8:33pm and the young gal walks out from behind the bar and said 'Sorry, we're actually closed' yet they don't officially close until 9pm (as advertised EVERYWHERE including the front door) and there were two tables with patrons eating. We walked in as a family of 5, 2 adults & 3 children, not a party of 12, yet that apparently was too much for them to accommodate within 30 mins of closing. Some menu items are, in my opinion, a bit overpriced. However their gyro wrap combo is a solid deal and always delicious. The combo comes with a drink and side, and a soup or salad can be added for an additional upcharge. On our most recent visit we did have to get the final total corrected as they charged incorrectly for the addition of a soup, but the waitress adjusted it without any hassle. I'm aware of troubles with their recent health score. I didn't notice any potential sanitation issues there, but it's something to be aware of for those more cautious about kitchen hygiene. read more

You can find Baba's Gyro and Kabob at 2310 Ronald Reagan Blvd Ste A Cumming, GA 30041. This is a Chevron gas station with the restaurant attached on the left side of the building. There's somewhat limited parking outside but seems like some park on the side of the street - also those visiting the Chevron convenience store or the mattress place on the other side, usually stay parked for a very short time so it may be worthwhile to wait on a space (please don't block the station pumps though). I've eaten here a couple of times, I don't seem to make it into the area that frequently. Most recently I was working in the area and Baba's was a short drive away, around 1:00 PM - it was fairly full. Our server came to the table after indicating where we could sit (luckily there was a table open). I ordered the Gyro (lamb+beef) plate - basically a decomposed gyro wrap with pita wedges, roasted potatoes and a side Greek salad. It took about 10 minutes to get our food - our server came by a couple of times and refilled out glasses while we waited. I thought the gyro very tasty, not dry at all and lots of feta on the salad. In all, the service was good and the food better than average. I think this is a great location that's easy to get to and while it might not be a destination or date spot, it does the job of getting you filled up well. read more

The only negative I've seen is that my friend's spinach dip was over cooked - he ordered it as his meal rather than an appetizer so they may have tried too hard to keep it warm. We arrived at 6 and were met at the door and seated right away. We enjoyed Dolmato's while we browsed the menu. Never had them warm before and that is a game changer !! My wife (the birthday girl) picked the Mousaka plate and I selected the Falafel plate. Our server was awesome and easily handled three sets of customers back and forth. The layout and atmosphere was very welcoming and we enjoyed the large portions of our plates. We should have gotten half our plates to go so we could have enjoyed some desert. Maybe next time. This restaurant was in a gas station was a solid four stars as far as what we ordered. It was the Gyro platter with the most delightful sliced potatoes that I've had in a long, long time fresh chewy a little crunchy actually made perfect. Also had the rice which was very flavorful ! Let's talk about the dessert ..It fresh homemade in-house cannoli.. now cannolis are typically an Italian type of dessert. However, this Greek restaurant knows how to make them I've eaten many cannolis from the northeast famous Greek and Italian bakeries in Boston and these by far succeeded those fantastic cannolis I've had in my life !!! I highly recommend those 100% !...the other desserts looked fantastic as well what are the cool features about this restaurant is they display all of their different types of dishes and desserts on a TV screen that's constantly changing scrolling through all the different things they offer and they looked and delivered to the table just like they did in the picture .The pistachio ice cream was delicious as well. (We had a sample of that. ) The service was fast and very delightful with the young lady who had been there only a couple of months. She seemed to know the menu very well. She was very outgoing and sweet...the ambience was super clean and very simple , it had a very Greek authentic feeling inside even though it's right next to the convenient Mart of the gas station I highly recommend trying this for local Greek food ...NOW for the best part ...the Avgolemono lemon soup (which is the Greek Greek authentic style soup) was spot on ...absolutely five stars!!!! I recommend a Bowl, not a cup because it's so delicious, You'll want more. Now Feedback for the restaurant owner.. typical Gyro meat should be sliced not chopped. Small restaurant but very nice inside. It was clean and the service was good. The food however was some of the best Mediterranean I've had around this area. I used to avoid this spot because it's attached to a gas station so I was snobby, thinking "how good could a Chevron gyro be?". After hearing so many good things about it, I finally gave it a try and I'm so glad I did. Their food is amazing, I've worked my way through the menu and haven't had a bad meal. My favorite for lunch is the lamb gyro with house potatoes and for dinner I like the beef kabobs but again, it's ALL GOOD! Their service here is excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable and they always get the to-go orders right (a rarity these days). We had originally discovered Baba's at least 10 years ago. Their menu was sufficiently varied so that, at the time, the adults and child could all find something to eat. Things evolved such that our child's culinary choices expanded. At some point, we all relocated and were no longer close enough to enjoy a short drive to Baba's. They have middle eastern dishes, some Italian choices, some sandwiches, etc. Almost anyone can find something to their taste. We recently were in the area to explore walking paths in Alpharetta. For lunch, we decided a side trip to Baba's was in order. We were not disappointed. Do NOT let the location dissuade you. Baba's adjoins a gas station, but is completely separate. Once inside, you are in a Mediterranean bubble. We each got dishes that we'd enjoyed previously - in my case, a kubideh kabob. It was great! And the prices are modest. If I lived in the area, I would definitely make visiting this place regularly a priority. read more

When you pull up it's in a gas station lot with ample parking. The place was busy on Saturday night with multiple groups. They have limited servers and we choose to sit at the bar (unserviced). Ordered the lamb shank plate that came With a side of chicken soup/salad. Also ordered supreme gyro plate that has gyro topped with mushrooms and onions with tzatxiki sauce. Also server with side salad (all lettuce, no olive. 1-2 pieces cucumber) and potatoes (oily) overall all our dishes were underwhelming and the lamb shank looked like it was heated from a prior meal. The gyro meat also was not hot enough. Honestly only the potatoes tasted freshly made. They have a full bar, wines and draft cocktail menu. read more

Ate here for the first time on Sunday and had the lamb gyro with house fries. I had not had a gyro in a very long time so my review may not be accurate but I enjoyed it very much. Plenty of tender lamb, veggies, and sauce made for a very tasty lunch. And the house fries (like thick chips) were a refreshing change from French fries. read more

I've been here numerous times over the last few years, and the food is always good to very good. The beer is cold, and the wine is good. The service is a bit slow and occasionally lacking because they seem to be short handed most of the time, but the cooks in the kitchen do a very nice job. Will visit again read more

Placed an order online and drove over to pick it up, after confirmation, only to find out that they were closed. Terribly disappointed!!

Their veggies are frozen and the tomatoes come from cans, but the real problem is the service. I guess the wife of the owner (or maybe chef?) is the only server on Saturday nights because it took over 2 and a half hours to eat here last night with 4 kids under the age 10 in tow. And we arrived a few minutes after 5pm thinking we'd beat the Saturday night rush. We were one of two tables in the whole restaurant but little did we know, we'd be there all night waiting for entrees while tables that came after us ate and left. The food was good but overall, the experience was terrible. I walked out saying "well, we'll never be back!" And my husband replied that he'll stick to DoorDash for their food. We've eaten at Baba's for years, but won't anymore. Our server made some serious errors that resulted in an extended meal - she didn't have paper to take our order so she said she be right back with paper, but instead she went and took the order of the table next to us 10 minutes later. They had been seated after us. She finally came to take our order exactly when she delivered the 3 appetizers we ordered. A fine dinning no-no! You don't serve food as you're taking the entree order. And then our kids got their food 30 minutes before we did. They were all done eating by the time our food arrived. We must have waited on the bill for 20 plus minutes, just sitting there, waiting for no reason. With kids. It was a very frustrating dinner and our server seemed clueless to her own mistakes. Date of visit: 08/06/2021 Baba's Gyro & Kebab My wife and I stopped into here for a bite to eat on our way back home. I was a bit hesitant at first because it was attached to a gas station and thought it might be your usual gas station inside type food. Instead Baba's is a full restaurant of its own, with indoor and outdoor seating. We entered and noticed the restaurant and outside patio seating were very populated. We waited only a few minutes for a table. The first thing I noticed and hadn't seen at any restaurant I had been in was a corner mounted TV about 40" and it was slowly scrolling through photos and descriptions of each of the dishes they make. They were actual photos of what they make, and not generic versions you see at most restaurants. Our waitress, was absolutely phenomenal. She was one of the best waitresses we have ever had. She was very attentive and was refilling drinks well before we asked. She knew the menu very well and had good recommendations. While we were there other employees also asked us if we needed drink refills, or something else. This included the owner, and also an additional two other waitresses. I really liked that they all worked together. Almost all other restaurants, waiters/waitresses are assigned an area. If you ask one of them for something they refer you to your assigned one. They all helped each other at Baba's. My wife and I ordered for an appetizer the calamari. The breading was perfect, they were fried perfect and the red sauce for dipping them in was spectacular. They really need to bottle that up and sell it as spaghetti sauce. We squeezed the two lemon wedges over the calamari. With or without the red sauce they were delicious. Apparently so delicious my wife asked if we could order a 2nd round of them. One of her absolute favorite things is calamari. Not once in 30 years has she asked to order a 2nd plate of calamari. So, congratulations Baba's she was that impressed with them, as was I. For dinner we each ordered the lamb gyro combo. The gyro meat was tender. The pita bread was soft. For me tzatziki sauce can make or break a gyro regardless of the type of meat in it or seasoning. Their tzatziki sauce wasn't to my flavor preference. But there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, just not my style is all. The gyro was still very good. The iceberg lettuce added a simple sweet flavor to it as well. Many places I visit use romaine. With the meal I ordered the house made chips, and my wife ordered the French fries. We both preferred their house fries/chips. We decided for dessert to split some bread pudding. The bread pudding was great. It was tender all the way through. Many bread pudding are over cooked and harder on the base. The flavor was very good as well. My friend was in town for the holidays. We drove past Baba's and he asked me if we could have lunch there, he was in the mood for a gyro. So we did! I've eaten here a few times over the years. Its been pretty good. We sat outside on their nice patio, the weather was beautiful. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We started with the Baba's shrimp (its like bang bang shrimp) / fried shrimp with a creme sauce. It was yummy! Our gyros arrived, the waitress suggested we order the greek potatoes with them instead of fries. What we received resembled a home made potato chip type potato (tasted ok but not what I expected). Our gyros were very good! Although we both felt they didn't have enough tzatziki sauce on then. We flagged down our server and asked if we could please have a little more sauce. She quickly returned with sauce for each of us. I checked in on yelp when we arrived and received a 15% coupon (yeaaa!). I told the server this up front however when the bill arrived, the discount was not on there. She took it back and adjusted, thank you. However, i was a little disappointed to see 2 charges for the tzatziki sauce! $1.79 each! Thats $3.58 for some extra sauce? That seems very high to me. She never told us there was a charge for it, and if I knew that, we could have gladly shared one as we each had a bunch left. Oh well, lesson learned. It was a nice day to have lunch with my friend. We've always enjoyed our meals at Baba's and this is the first time we've been back in several months. Unfortunately, the Baba salad that we ordered was not as good as we expected. The meat was dark and dry, and the salad was not as fresh as has been in the past. we were the only people dining in the restaurant at 6 PM.
