With this in mind I was reluctant to send him off to nursery and was very particular when hunting through the multitude of options. He is also a baby giant (85th for weight and above the top line for height!) and I was a bit worried about how he would handle a room full of other 2 year olds. I know I was probably being an over-worried mum but Julie and the rest of the team have done a wonderful job and we couldn't be happier! He is so happy playing with a fantastic mix of children and is given the freedom to learn and explore however he chooses. I really could not recommend this place enough!

We moved to this nursery after nearly a year elsewhere. We were unsatisfied with our previous…read morenursery and read the Ofsted report for Sunshine, it was fantastic! So we started our son with them immediately. While our son was happy enough at the old nursery we had a few issues and realised he wasn't being taught a lot. At Sunshine we can see evidence of him learning new things all the time, he is constantly talking about the other children and what he did at nursery, he is excited to go in the morning and is in a wonderful mood when we collect him. He knows things that we haven't taught him and is always coming out with new words and phrases he has clearly learned at Sunshine. He is 2 years and 7 months old and is completely thriving in this new nursery environment. They have a wonderful set up, with lots of natural light and space to play. The men and women who work there are friendly and warm and are always willing to talk to you at collection time (a stark contrast to our previous nursery where on collection we were practically shoved out of the door so they could go to lunch!) My son attends 3 mornings per week and even though he is not there full time he has French classes, dance classes and singing time. As well as a lot of outdoor time in their wonderful garden and a lot of well thought out creative play. They think outside of the box, rather than just your usual glitter and glue (which they also do, but along with a lot more creative ideas such as playing with cars in paint). The prices are very reasonable, I think I was paying £1.00 less per morning at the old place, but it is well worth the extra £ for Sunshine! They also don't charge for bank holidays, which I think is fab! At previous nursery we had to pay full fees for all of the staff to take a week off on holiday!! We couldn't believe it! Sunshine only take money for days they are OPEN. What a breath of fresh air! We send a packed lunch but I am aware that they can also provide a cooked, healthy lunch from a local food company, with lots of tasty vegetarian and meat options for just a couple of extra £'s a day (I can't remember the exact cost, but is is between £2 and £3 a day I think, don't quote me though!) They are so well organised and care about the children, each child has a penguin with their photo on which they can stick on the wall themselves when they arrive to show who's in today, they have all of the children's Birthdays written on cake pictures on the wall. They really care. They also really take on board any new information, our main issue at the old place was with potty training, we would tell them he was now using the toilet at home, no one told his carer and he was made to still use the potty and never talk to us so we had no idea. At Sunshine if I tell them anything new about how he is doing things at home, they DO THE SAME, and I know they do because they talk to me at the end of the morning! They want to help and make kids as comfortable there as they are at home. I feel very confident that I know the full story with them. 6 months ago my son was upset everytime he had to go to nursery, now he is at Sunshine he bounces out of the door in the morning and asks to go on his days off to see his friends! I highly recommend anyone looking for a nursery place in Brighton considers Sunshine as their first port of call. We LOVE Sunshine and think any child would love to go there and will learn a lot.
