At my recent experience at Bacchus, it was very pleasant. Our waitresses were very polite and attentive, and we were sat prior to our reservation time after arriving early. The restaurant itself is very appealing. I ordered the 3 courses, with the veal ravioli, short rib, and molten hazelnut lava cake. All were good; I especially enjoyed the desert. The ravioli I felt was a bit heavy for my liking, but was still flavorful, and I thought the pine nuts were a very interesting but good flavor combination. Additionally, I really love the location of this restaurant, and the greenhouse looking roof windows are especially beautiful to look at.

I came here for a work event with 30+ people, and it was a fantastic experience. Parking wasn't too difficult to find--typical for Milwaukee. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, regularly coming around with hors d'oeuvres on trays and keeping our drinks filled throughout the night. The appetizers were absolutely delicious--the meatballs were my favorite! For dinner, I ordered a steak, and it was cooked to perfection--honestly, the best steak I've ever had. It was incredibly juicy, and the temperature was spot on. I typically go for medium or medium rare, and they nailed it. The dessert was just as impressive--flavorful and the perfect portion size after a filling meal. I also loved the overall atmosphere--it had a great vibe, and I appreciated the convenience of their coat check. Plus, their bourbon selection was excellent--a nice bonus!

Bacchus is celebrating 20 years in business this year, and I enjoyed their six course signature tasting menu a few weeks ago, as well as their Foie Gras appetizer! The tasting menu included an Amuse Bouche, Apple Salad, Guajillo-glazed Octopus with pork belly, Seared Sea Scallops over fried black rice, Pork Bolognese, a palate-cleansing intermezzo, Australian Wagyu Striploin with potato rosti, and a Kiwi Sorbet over lavender meringue, followed by decadent Petit Fours to send us home beyond satisfied! Service and food was amazing, and the tasting menu was a great value! We didn't need the foie gras app, but my guest never had foie gras, so I felt it was time she did. Bacchus also offers a three course prix fixe dinner option and also brought back their a la carte menu, so go there soon and choose your dining adventure!

    Waygu cheese burger

Swung by Bacchus after work because I heard their burger was among the best gourmet burgers in Milwaukee and it didn't disappoint. It's a Waygu patty with the option to choose from three cheeses. The one I chose was a bit buttery and complemented the patty perfectly. The egg was supposed to be over easy but came over hard. The patty itself was cooked medium and has to be the best and most accurate medium I've had in a burger. Usually I have to box or leave unfinished, but I finished this despite being pretty full. Fries were just okay. Got the goat cheese curds for the appetizer and they were good, but far too overpriced. The bartender was very friendly and explained in detail and accommodating. Its a fine dining restaurant so it may require reservations during normal hours but there was plenty of seating at the end of the day. Ambiance was quiet and proper.

We had a great experience at Bacchus, starting from the phone call to make the reservation. They were very polite and talked us through the structure of their menu, where to park, etc. We went on a Monday, so it was not too crowded. It's a pretty large space and could definitely accommodate a group. We had a team of two taking care of us. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We opted for the 3 course meal instead of the 5 course. I had the chicken as my main course and my fiance had the duck. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and arrived warm and in a timely manner. I would absolutely recommend stopping by, especially for a special occasion like a birthday or an anniversary!

Sponsored by my sis, hubby and I were able to enjoy Bacchus in celebration of our wedding anniversary. We had the 3 course meal. Me: duck dumplings, salmon, chocolate truffle Hub: pasta bolognese, scallops, strawberry & sunflower With a bottle of Pinot Noir from OR. Everything was really delicious and decadent. Servers were very attentive. Timing was spot on. And added anniversary touches - card, champagne split, little treat bag - were definitely a bonus. Thank you for a special night! Ps. The table bases are a bit cumbersome, getting in the way of a place to comfortably put down your feet.

This restaurant is upscale and a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff are attentive and kind. The only issue we had was in having a later reservation, we felt slightly rushed to eat quickly and I felt we didn't get to savor our food as much. They have a fun cocktail menu with some delicious options and fun twists on classic cocktails. We ordered from the three course menu, which I felt was the perfect amount of food. My favorite dishes included the duck dumplings and the cheesecake. Both were creatively made and had amazing flavors. I felt the mains were good but not as memorable. Overall, I liked the restaurant but was hoping for more!

tl;dr - a place you should go when you need to feel special, have impeccable service or a reason to celebrate! My husband has just gotten a promotion at work, so we decided to splurge for a very amazing experience at Bacchus. It was our first time there and the place was incredibly fancy. We had decided to get dressed up (and were so glad we did) as there was the valet and coat check before we entered in. We had a little bit of imposter syndrome (oh jeeze, should we really be here!?! Apparently my husband said there's a Simpsons episode where Homer walks into a VERY beautiful restaurant and he says "WOW, fancy" and the maître d' walks up to him and goes, "Would you please leave without a fuss, right now?" Hilarious and a little bit how we felt, until we got inside!) An extremely friendly and warm dining experience. We were seated promptly and immediately were greeted by our servers. The pair was SO nice and explained the menu and special very clearly. They also asked if we were celebrating anything and we mentioned his promotion. We both grabbed a cocktail and our amazing dining experience was off to the races. We got freshly cooked bread for the table and and small bite-sized appetizer to start. There is a 3 and 5 course tasting menu here, so there's not ala carte type options which is completely fine, just different than what you may expect if you've never been there before. We did the 3 course and went with: - Duck dumplings (simply incredible, it was one of the big highlights of the meal) - Yellowfin Tuna crudo (amazing flavor combos and so fresh feeling) - Blue ridge rabbit loin (I ventured out of my comfort zone on this one to try something new and it did not disappoint!) - Rack of venison (so incredibly tender and just on another level of how you could venison could prepared) - Cheesecake mousse (the hubby loved) - Chocolate truffle (so incredibly rich and decadent, some light-hearted folks might not be able to finish it, but I SURE DID. Simply fantastic!) At the end along with our selected desserts, they even brought our a super cute "congratulations" treat for Ben. They really went above and beyond to make sure we felt special and that this was an elevated dining experience through and through. This is definitely a place to share a super romantic or important night with someone you care about!

An extremely friendly and warm dining experience. Servers were nice and explained the menu clearly. There is a 3 course tasting and a 5 course tasting menu. One recommendation id make is not making any reservations at 8:30 or after. Their kitchen closes at 9 and I called to make sure 8:30 was ok. They did tell me we would have to put in all the food orders by 9 but in general we felt extremely rushed. All the dishes came out super fast and we could tell they were in a hurry. I'm usually very very cognizant about closing times which is why I called ahead to double check. I feel if they are truly trying to close early they should not have offered reservations at that time in the first place. Regarding the food, overall it was tasty, some dishes were incredible and some were okay. The cocktails were phenomenal and would recommend getting those. I'd certainly be intrigued at trying this place again and reassess their food!

Went with spouse for a date on a Friday evening. Ambiance and decor inside was clean, modern and classy but not pretentious. Seated with space between other parties, which we appreciated. No feeling cramped or too close by. Not loud inside, and we enjoyed that we could talk and hear each other. Service was great. We did a 3 course menu each, so we could try 6 items. Duck dumplings, good but not out of this world. Pork bolognese, pleasantly surprised by big portion first course, we liked this better. Lamb loins, meat was tender and the dish as a whole was so flavorful with the morel sauce. Thoughtful and well composed. Scallops with red curry sauce was a more interesting take, scallop sear was excellent but not overcooked. We both loved the second courses, best of the 3. Sorbets were refreshing and sweet but not overly sweet. Citrus one was a little more tart than we preferred. Chocolate truffle had candied kumquats and toasted meringue to add texture and other flavors. Would recommend and would come again. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

I thought that the food was excellent and beautifully crafted, but some of the portions were really small. The atmosphere seemed kind of bland for a place that fancy. It was definitely a place to be seen but I left wanting to go somewhere else.

    Tasting Menu

We went ther for our 15 yr anniversary. We did the tasting menu. Everything was great! Wait staff was super and chef is accommodating if you have any issues/concerns with the menu.

Fucking love this place…read more If there is a highly rated small plates place in a location we are visiting, you can count on us to find it. We walked literally thirty minutes to this place from our hotel. It was a lovely walk in early August. We had a 5:45pm reservation on a Thursday (we are old now) and we were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Ok so they have a fantastic cocktail menu. I appreciate any cocktail menu that is more complex than vodka and cranberry juice but this takes it to another level of creativity. I also like how they name them with numbers. It's so much easier to say "I'll have a 42" rather than "I will have a duperbeamerscicle". I started with an "88" with pisco, rose-poached strawberry, amontillado sherry, verjus, rose port, and pink peppercorn. Served in a highball glass and garnished with berries. Very refreshing. GF started with the "91" mezcal, passion fruit, poblano, pineapple, amaro, lime. Gorgeous and chic. Very strong, smoky flavor. When in Rome, so the cheese plate did not feel like an option. Four fantastic cheeses were served with very tasty candied nuts, some jam business, grapes, and some of the best bread I have had on a cheese plate. Thick, soft, and fluffy. Paired absolutely perfectly with cheese. Only complaint is that I wish there was more of it. I haven't had deviled eggs in a minute so I went wild and also had the chili crisp deviled eggs which were SPECTACULAR. I also got the Egyptian fried cauliflower which is served on a smear of harissa and lemon tahini. Very flavorful. Star of the show tbh was the tagliatelle with squash, tomato, these fried cheese crisps. The noodles were al dente and SO GOOD in such a wonderful sauce. GF also got the steak, she says "very good seasoning". I helped her out with the kimchi pancake. Wonderful. Such a great sauce. For our second round of dranks we both went with the "77" makrut lime vodka, tamarind, bird's eye chili, cilantro, lime, lemongrass. Very tamarind forward. Very unique. I can see why it's our server's favorite drink on the menu. The desserts looked really good (something with sticky rice I think it was a cocktail and a bread budding that looked fantastic) but we just weren't feeling it.

We also loved the flatbread with fiddleheads, which featured a delicious curry-inspired flavor that reminded us of an Indian dish. My husband couldn't stop talking about the bread pudding and said it was one of the best desserts he's had. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. For any alcohol you will buy you will pay in addition which is fine BUT the price for that drink(s) will be surprising you a lot. For 5 sake drinks the bill was around $370. Last two glasses were having less sake than first glasses we were provided, probably because people who already drunk something would not notice the difference. It's ok to have expensive alcohol pairing with high end dinner but in this case the sake was very regular. By the way, at bar 10 steps away from the Dark room (same hotel, same floor, same the floor area) the same sake did cost $23 for two glasses. Well... I understand people try to run business and earn money but everything should not cross some decency borders. These guys did cross the line in my opinion. Alcohol prices are not mentioned in Menu by the way. I do not recommend this place not only due to drinks pricing policy but due to "ok" food/service/price ratio

One of the best happy hour deals in town! Tuesday through Friday from 4-6pm, they offer $6 bites…read moreand $9 drinks. If it's still available, the Burger Au Poivre is a must-try. For only $6, they serve a full sized portion which is one of the best values on the menu and an absolute steal for the quality you receive. The burger comes with caramelized onions, American cheese, crispy onions, au poivre sauce, garlic-herb aioli on a sesame milk bun (Note: one order per guest). From the happy hour menu, I also ordered the Halibut Fish Fry and the Shrimp Cocktail. The Shrimp Cocktail had a sweet and chili cocktail vinaigrette, which I really enjoyed. From the dinner menu, I had the Kale Cashew Caesar, Lobster Pot Pie, and the Ora King Salmon. To my surprise, the star of the show was the Kale Cashew Caesar, which staff recommended. What made this dish so special was the generous mound of shaved Gran Moravia piled on top, complemented by lemon breadcrumbs. The combination and texture was so fun to eat. The Lobster Pot Pie is offered at market price ($55 when I went). They give you generous chunks of butter-poached lobster tails, seasonal vegetables, lobster cream in their truffle puff pastry. The Ora King Salmon was also delicious. Salmon was cooked perfectly--light and moist. I enjoyed the black garlic gnocchi and the apple gastrique that came with this dish. I ended the night with their chai banana caramel creme brulee. I'll definitely be back for their happy hour and that Kale Cashew Caesar!

I went to Goodkind for dinner on a Friday evening with a friend who was visiting me from Chicago. I…read morechose Goodkind because of the warm, eclectic atmosphere, cocktails, and creative & delicious food. Our experience did not disappoint! The cocktails were refreshing and well-balanced. My friend ordered My Darling Amadeus, which I wasn't sure I would like, and I ended up loving it! It was so good. Our waitress, Michelle, was very friendly and knowledgeable, and our food was outstanding! The duck was decadent and cooked perfectly. The Barramundi Fillet was amazing! I loved the crispy top, English peas, and Green Goddess Puree. If we had room, we would've ordered dessert, but we were so full! 10/10 experience!! Can't wait to go back.

The cocktails are so good that their menu has been awarded for being outstanding. The restaurant does get a bit crowded on the weekends so plan ahead. They do have a large bar to sit at. The service is excellent. The only thing I haven't found to be to my liking are their main dishes. The flavors aren't a hit for me but I can tell they are well thought out. I simply skip out on the main dishes and go straight for the fried oyster mushrooms as an app, and then pair those with a delicious cocktail. The have a wide variety of adult beverages available.
