Ioannis Fournaris eröffnete das Bacchus I schon 1973 in Arnum - damit ist es das älteste griechische, familiengeführte Restaurant in Deutschland. The special clue about the whole place: Beside the authentic and welcoming athmosphere, the 100 % organic food that surely makes the difference. Everything from the giros to the steaks, the lamb chops to the suflaki or suzuki/bifteki is cooked to the point and the food here, although it is a bit more expensive than other Greek places, has never disappointed me. Normally one does not mention the toilets when reviewing a nice restaurant, but the disco toilets with the mirror balls, the disco lights and 70s/80s disco classics surely are a surprising little event worth a mention. Make sure you don't forget the reservation when planning to go because it is not a secret spot anymore.

This impression is taken on the inside, it is modern, straightforward, rather elegant and comfortable. The waitresses are brisk, have a good sense of humor and enjoy their job. Even if you often forget part of the order, but the point deduction, you do not lose your sense of humor. The food is actually of high quality in taste and how it is presented. There are no typical dishes like many other Greek restaurants. It started with the greeting from the kitchen, a well-arranged composition of artichokes. As a starter, I had a Zaziki, which convinced of the consistency and taste. There was also a very delicious, rustic bread. As a main course, I had a Pii plate. Baked gyros with two types of cheese, anything but dry. There were also french fries and a carrot zucchini vegetable that still had a bite. So the food completely convinced me. All in all the high quality impression is confirmed and the price - performance ratio fits in my opinion.
