The practice is in a modern, custom build building with a fair sized car park outside. The reception is just to the right as you walk in the door and is staffed by a friendly team. They have a downstairs reception area with comfortable seating and magazines, and an upstairs member's area with seating, magazines, tea, coffee, water biscuits and TV. Today was my first appointment and I'm admittedly not a fan of the dentist, but they put me at ease immediately and my appointment went smoothly and the dentist was very friendly and informative. Definitely recommend this practice!

Being a "nervous patient" I probably havent been the easiest patient on occcassions-however,Parks understands and sympathizes with this and do all they can to put you at your ease. The enviroment of the dental surgery itself is also comforting,designed and decorated to a very high and modern standard - making it a pleasant, non clinical enviroment to be in. I recently had to attend the dentist as an emergency as I managed to loose a crown and break the tooth. I got an appointment the next day and had the remaining tooth painlessly extracted. I think that in this day and age of waiting times this is to be commended. All the staff are pleasant and friendly and NHS patients are accepted. Wether it is for that six monthly or emergency visit it can be a more painless experience at Castlebawn. (In my case if I hadn't been stealing a sneaky matchmaker I could have avoided that emergency appointment !).

No one likes going to the doctor, so if you have to go it may as well be as best an experience as you can manage, and that is what you get here. Appointments are easy enough to get and all staff, from reception to nurses and all the doctors are so nice. While doctors are constantly under pressure to see as many patients as possible under crippling time restraints, you never feel rushed, you are never just handed a prescription and sent on your way and you are listened to. Any time I have attended I have felt understood and respected and felt better! I hope you don't need a doctor, but if you do these guys have it all in healthy spades.

Cars are often abandoned on double yellow lines and whilst it does have disabled spaces, I am yet to come across an empty one. The centre is usually always busy and it often takes a couple of weeks to a get a GP appointment, but then it seems everywhere does. The two things that make the greatest difference for me is the nurses station and the baby clinic. My hubby sliced his finger and fearing hours at a&e, we popped over to the nurses station, no appointment, no problem. He was in and out in 10 mins with bandages, ointment and aftercare advice. It was quick, efficient and easy, as it should be! The baby clinic runs on Thursday afternoons, it's also drop in, where after about a 10-15min wait you can see a Health Visitor and you don't even have to be registered there. Now if only they could sort out the parking...

A few years ago when I lived nearby I attended Ormeau Health Centre as my local GP Surgery. As with all Surgeries these days, getting an appointment unfortunately proved tricky, with waits of up to a few days or even weeks on occasion. Thankfully though, they did offer a convenient telephone line whereby you could ring and speak to a Doctor or order prescriptions. You can also book appointments online and order repeat prescriptions 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week via their website. Plus Ormeau Health Centre have a travel clinic if you need to get jabs for your holidays. I always found the Receptionists, Nurses and Doctors friendly, helpful and professional. I would give this clinic a full 5 star rating if it weren't for the long waiting times before obtaining an appointment. Plus only allowing 10 minutes per patient for a Doctors appointment feels very rushed. However I think this is an issue with the Health Service overall (or our politicians and government) rather than this particular clinic, which I always found excellent.
