I was involved in an accident back in August of 2019. It was my first and hopefully last one. I didn't have any severe damage or maimed , However I was whip lashed and dislocated hip and shoulder. I spoke to a friend who referred me to a case manager Crystal Brezezinski. She send a Mr Cruz who told my accident information. He was able to advocate on my behalf since the insurance company for the at fault motorist was trying to write my car off as a total loss and just send me a check for X amount of dollars. Backus & Schanker was able to get me into a rental through Enterprise until I was able to find another vehicle. I was referred by a member at Church in the City to Therahand Physical Therapy in Aurora. After an evaluation from a orthopedic surgeon consultation and further Xrays it was determined that I continue with physical therapy for the next two years since surgery could be risky. Backus & Schanker is in contact with the legal representatives of the insurance company at fault to pay for all my past, current and future after care and emotional damage. My injuries are slowly recovering but it gives me peace of mind that I will be compensated for this almost severe injury or fatal accident. I always received a courteous response to all my emails, calls for follow up, also reaching out to Therahand to send all bills to their office. I can say that with the difficulty of finding the right legal team to represent you in the case of an accident. Backus & Schanker will step to the plate and hit out of the park. I have a friend who was involved in a accident 4 years ago and they have been getting the round around and they are in their late 70 with no end in sight when this other major law firm will close their case. Worst experience ever! I had four representatives or "case managers" and the actual lawyer couldn't keep track of my case to save his life, I pointed this out at the time and requested a new one, they refused. and he was constantly out of town, wouldn't return my phone calls for days and once he did I would have to explain who I was and what my case was all over again. At one point they "lost" all of my paperwork and had to completely redo everything. This place is the biggest joke ever. In my opinion they should be investigated because they are clearly doing something wrong on a wide scale basis and it has financially impacted each of the people they have done wrong in a major way. a lawyer is a sacred professional that trust is absolutely critical especially when its a lawyer to help deal with doctors and such. If you look on the google reviews they are all great reviews, and the month i signed up with them during the intake process they asked me for a review, before they actually did anything, so i said they were polite. which was later posted under my name on the web. If you look into their name far enough on google you can find them swapping tips on SEO blogs about how to fight bad reviews with way more good ones. They are clearly doing something wrong to more than one person and it all sounds very very similar to the madness i went through. the BAR or somebody really needs to take a look at this company. read more

I had fallen off a ladder back in July of 2015. An after getting workman's comp. Insurance started they where denying just about all of my treatment even for my short term memory loss an saying my shoulder injury I did after I fell 15 feet off a ladder and destroyed my back an legit called me a liar about that an many other things. It is really a shame to see the negative reviews here when my experience couldn't have been better. I was in a terrible car accident at the beginning of this year. My car I had worked hard with my dad to pay off was totaled and I was forced to quit my job due to having PTSD from taking the same route and not getting paid enough or having permanent transportation at the time. I'm told the owners of the company made this decision, so this is to them. I should have listened to everyone over the past year who told me my law firm( b@s) wasn't doing enough. I have not had a car since my accident in 2024. for the past few months, this always firm set up lien rides for me through trio solutions. the rides through inner were hit or miss as i hane migraine headaches from the accident and can't ride in highly fragmented cars. at no time up until today, did I know that canceling and getting another uber ride was frowned upon. i was told by the associate attorney, that trip treated Bachis and Shanker saying they would no longer work with them, due to my cancellations with uber. and this is why they dropped my case. unfair and feels strongly unethical I've reported this to my attorney friend who suggested this company as well. horrible experience and no where near aggressive enough. today I spoke to many other potential law firms and was told multiple times that Bachus and shanker is a MILL. read more

Edie Britton who works closely with Darin Schanker is incredible. Mr. Schanker was the attorney assigned to my case on behalf of my daughter who was killed in a motor vehicle accident in 2011. That case has now settled, and I personally was involved in an accident in 2016, and was assigned to a different attorney at the firm for that second accident. Even though I am no longer Mr. Schanker's client, Edie goes above and beyond to help me out with whatever I need. I can't recommend Jason Walker enough; he was the best; this man did the best job. He put in the work and had great results, towards showing my case. I should tell you this was a federal case and we lost; nobody was happy. I did not lose because of my Attorney, in fact, he worked his rear off and did a really great job. I don't have money, but if I did, I would have paid him. I would tell you if you were thinking about them as your Attorney's, Stop and just call them it well be the best thing for your case.
