It seemed as though Ms. W had too many cases she was working and mine was at the bottom of the list and not important. She seemed to be teaming with my former spouse's attorney to close out the case promptly instead of representing me, and fighting for me She communicated to me in a condescending manner and was dismissive. When her first note to opposing counsel was address "Dear Eliza," well, that didn't sit right with me. I guess I expected a more professional air. We had multiple exchanges where Ms. W said that I said something I did not. Of course that meant more billable hours charged to me for her to reread what I said and realize that she, or her support staff, were reading too quickly and not comprehending what I said. I had to reference my previous emails to show that what she was saying was not what I said. At one point, I thought that Ms. W had recommended several mediators but later discovered that opposing counsel was the one that that made the recommendations. I was concerned and expressed as much. Instead of acknowledging my concern, Ms. W's response: "it feels like you suspect everyone is somehow conspiring against you or your interests." Wouldn't most clients want to know that opposing counsel is leading the way instead of one's own attorney? These situations where a marriage is being "dissolved" is extremely stressful and emotional. Having an attorney that does not demonstrate support, interest, concern, or teamwork, makes it much worse. I will never recommend Ms. H W or Burnham Law to anyone.

She promised me that some issues that I had hired the firm for "would go away and it would be no problem." In a five-week window, nothing was done on my case. She didn't answer the emails I sent. She then handed my case over to Sharon. I spent more money catching Sharon up to speed and resending emails and documentation that was never saved in my file. When meeting with the new lawyer at the office, Havilah would not even make eye contact or acknowledge my presence when we were in the same room. I relayed my concerns to Amy who is an Owner of the firm. I saw no improvement, only excuses from her. Crooked people and an absolute waste of money. I would highly recommend checking out other firms. They are very unprofessional and money-hungry, and full of empty promises. I am now with a second firm and have experienced positive progress with my case with a 1/4 of the dollars spent here.
