This was our first visit to this restaurant. We had a good experience and will come again. They have a great chef as the food we ordered was delicious and presented well on the plate. We arrived early around 4:30 so we were seated immediately by a cheerful host. Our waiter Allen was so nice and attentive. Our food was delivered right on time after the appetizer. The hubs had the Ahi Tuna with sautéed mushrooms and I had the Cajun Ribeye which came with 3 good sized grilled shrimp and both meals included a loaded baked potato. Appetizer was cheese dip with homemade tortilla chips and a complimentary small loaf of baked bread. Next time we will try the outside seating when temperatures are cooler. read more

First I want to say that the waitress was had was so sweet and nice and kind. This review is not based on her at all. When we first sat down , however, she did mention to us the specials and told us the number one thing they sell was a certain steak on the menu..... it was $88. That kinda turned me off from the beginning. We ordered calamari to start.... Frozen calamari with zero flavor, tasted like Costco. Horrible texture. We decided to share the american pharaoh which was almost $60 but seemed like a lot of food. The steak was over cooked and was not a steak of that price. We both thought it tasted exactly like the Costco filets we buy and grill at home. The crab cake on top was for sure a frozen crab cake with not a lot of crab. Was just not good at all. For desert we got the chocolate cake. It was decent but definitely not a homemade dessert. Our bill, before tip, was $150. This meal, To us, wasn't worth $50. I would not recommend this place. The bathroom closest to us was connected to a bar and was so gross. The place has zero ambiance and the food was terrible. We will not be back. read more

By the time my dinner was brought to me, the rest of our party was almost done. I didn't even get to finish half of my dinner.

I made my way to Hot Springs, Arkansas and landed at the Back Porch Grill for a group function. The way-to-gos: The servers were very friendly, and an adorable little kid was helping the servers work, which was actually kind of cute. Everyone had a great attitude, and although the service was tortoise-esque slow, the food was pretty good. The oh nos: The cute kid spilled a ton of water. After we pointed it out to our server, and after multiple servers walked by the spill 5 or 6 times without touching it, someone in my party gathered up a boatload of napkins and cleaned it all by herself. That should have never happened. Also, they were out of creme brulee and bread pudding, my main reason for dining there. Our large party had a great time, but I'm unsure if I'd return. read more

We came in Saturday just bc we've never been and wanted a different place to go to. It had just rained and was finally good enough to sit on a patio for dinner. The bad reviews are here are a bit extreme, we almost didn't come just bc of them but I know you must go and form your own opinion. Here is my ranking and then I'll explain. Drinks 5/5 what we had was excellent and had a few rounds. Drink pricing...3/5 $15 for a Tito Moscow mule is about $3 over most places. Atmosphere on the deck 5/5. Can't beat that view and overall ambiance. The only place was packed. Service 5/5. Brena was super friendly, big smiles, and quick to help us out. Food 4/5. Yeah totally fine. My wife liked her steak. That 4 oz was a bit tiny and thin for a filet lol. When it came out we kinda laughed. I mean...I've not seen a smaller steak in my life lol. My blackened redfish was good, overly salty and the scallops were chopped so technically 1 scallop. It was $35 for that meal but at least it comes with a side and it's a big amount. The asparagus needed some love on seasoning. I don't think there was any. They tasted good bc it was cooked on the grill but add some garlic or parmesan and it would've been perfect Food price....3/5. I do feel it was somewhat over priced based on the size of my wife's filet and my redfish was on the thin side. Maybe bc it came with a scallop and 2 shrimps but for a steak place I think it's average on pricing just not on quantity. We left happy, we may be back. Maybe more for cocktails and apps or a small dinner. I definitely wasn't overall upset. It was enjoyable. It's a few tweaks from being 5/5. With it being Hot Springs maybe some of the restaurants use this bc it is a tourist town and this one in particular is on the lake with a dock. So people with boats were coming in and out. The pricing kinda made sense for that. Just recommend less salt on the redfish, 4 oz filet could've been bigger. Like totally regret not taking a photo. Our highlight was 100% Brena. First we had called to see what the wait was and they said it was about 20 minutes but then waited an hour or so to get seated. As far as the food goes, What you get for the price is not at all worth it. We got a steak and loaded baked potato that was half burnt and you had to assemble. There are good restaurants in Hot Springs. This IS NOT one of them Let me get straight to the point. The food sucked!! Now for a breakdown. We ordered an appetizer first - the $12.00 tater tumblers. What we received was 4 Ore-Ida tater tots covered in queso, a spoonful of bacon bits on a nice plate. Yes! 4 tater tots!! $12.00 You could buy a bag and the queso for less than that and have you a plate full of "tater tumblers." My wife ordered Garlic Shrimp, she said it was good. My son, who wasn't hungry, ordered a side he said it was good. I ordered the $36.00, 12 oz, Ribeye. The menu said it was their "most flavorful" steak. Do yourself a favor, go to Waffle House, and get yourself a steak. The quality will be much better. This steak had pockets of fat that sure made it flavorful. It was about 1/4 inch thick and was just a mess. The baked potato was excellent. So now the frustrating part of this meal. My daughter ordered the same steak I did, the most flavorful Ribeye. According to the waitress, the "dumb ass manager" entered in the wrong steak, and what they brought my daughter was a "Bourbon marinated flat steak."" This thing was about the size of a hamburger and the quality of cheap beef jerky. She is very polite and after the waitress had brought it to the table my daughter accepted it and tried to eat it. She said to me, "Dad, this is chewy like rubber." This ranks up in the top 3 of worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant that wasn't some fast food establishment. However they charged a whopping $10.00 for Florentine sauce that was mediocre. I mean seriously! He also had the fully loaded baked potato 2.50 for the bacon. I usually don't leave reviews, but I wanted to shout out our server who did a great job managing our big group of 12. He was friendly, stayed calm, and worked hard to keep things moving--even though he forgot a few things, he was clearly trying his best without writing anything down. That said, the food was really disappointing. It had no seasoning or flavor at all, and for the price, the portions and quality just didn't match up. Our total for two adults and a 7-year-old was $167--which is way too much considering how bland the food was. Drinks were also overpriced for the size and what you get. Man, I REALLY wanted to love this place!! Service was fantastic, the outdoor seating was relaxing, and the appetizer of pork belly hit the spot, but that's where the great comments end. The problem was that the other food was absolutely terrible. The old fashions were just straight whiskey and the coconut margarita was very plain with just coconut added to the rim. The fish & chips was pretty gross. The batter was soggy and the French fries were cold. My wife's steak salad was just so-so, because the meat had a decent flavor but was chewy. However, she really enjoyed the house dressing. The below average food was a big disappointment due to the quality of the food. We're Monroe natives, so our standards for good food--especially Louisiana-style Southern cooking--are high. We came to Back Porch Grill with low expectations after a pretty awful experience the night before at Fish Net in Caddo Valley (everything came out cold), but this spot completely turned things around for us. We ordered the pasta with mushrooms, shrimp, and scallions, the redfish, chicken pasta, and the lobster and steak combo. Every dish was hot, well-seasoned, and genuinely delicious. For the price, the quality and flavor were spot-on, and we all left full and impressed. The ambiance was a little loud at first, but it mellowed out as the evening went on. And our server? Perfectly precious--so attentive and sweet without being overbearing. Back Porch Grill definitely redeemed Arkansas food for us. Bummed, I wanted to take my daughter somewhere nice and somewhere we've never been before. We were just passing thru on our way to Texas. Reviews suggested call a head reserve a seat outside, they said not possible first come first served but they said the wait wouldn't be long. Get there sign in 30 min later we get seated. 15min to be asked what we'd like to drink - water please she asked if we'd like lemon yes please but no lemon then don't offer I'm a passive person so I was like it's ok we didn't need it anyway. We placed our orders at the same time figuring it would get put in right away. A 6 top was seated in front of us 15 min after us received drinks and even their food before us. They were almost done eating By the time our food got there. I just asked the server to bring us boxes when she brought the plates had I seen her again I would have just cancelled my order all together even my daughter said we should just leave. The server apologized said it shouldn't have taken that long. At that point I just shut down. Still gave the her a $20 tip because I've been in her shoes and sometimes things just can't be controlled by the server. It was almost like maybe our ticket got lost in the shuffle and they tried to hurry our dishes last min. The 5 $38 scallops were not good at all, my daughter and I split one before boxing up those and the pasta. So we left irritated unsatisfied. Ended up ordering pizza and giving the untouched food to our front desk person at the hotel an even they said the scallops were bad so I know it wasn't just us. I was very disappointed, and I don't normally leave negative reviews. First off, when paying almost $300 for dinner, you expect to all eat together. My daughter didn't get her steak until everyone else was finished and we were leaving. Never received salads, steaks were not cooked correctly. Asked about menu items and couldn't get an answer. Asked about a kids menu, never got one. Took forever to get our drinks and never refilled. The asparagus tasted ok, but was so tough you couldn't chew it.
