I came to enjoy a long driven home town favorite of mine. come to come out it might be very difficult to try and even consider an attempt at returning. on top of the place being ran b y people who are not from the area. They couldn't even hold a conversation about local experiences while tha they talked about supporting local businesses they knew nothing about prior to 2000. I ordered the corned beef hash. One of my all time favorites next to only a few. to my total disappointment. they brought out corn beef deli meat diced up like some drunk uncle trying his best to feed whoever was hungry the day after a family gathering. total disappointment. No longer authentic Fort Collins and most definitely no longer interpersonal. That item should be removed from the menu if it can not be served with the respect it deserves! read more

I found this place via one of my FAVorite apps, Urbanspoon, as I was passing through town on a roadtrip. It was hard to find even WITH a Garmin because the location could (and probably has in it's past) serve as someone's place of residence. This means parking is limited and so is table space. But that's part of the allure of Backporch Cafe, it's like inviting yourself to your cooler-than-you friend's place for a gourmet breakfast. And in true Colorado style they'll even have a beer (or mimosa for the faint at heart) waiting for you to start the day off right. Broken down into simple terms: Dare-you-to-eat-the-whole-thing portions, fresh ingredients, fairly limited cuisine but what they do, they do very very well! Even though it was well into the 90's I sat outside to eat, and it was a very pleasant experience. The umbrellas on the tables were adequately sized to create an oasis of shade along with the relaxing water feature near by. The service was incredible as Aaron took the order and the food appeared in such a short time. I had the veggie omelette with an iced latte and side of bacon. It came with potatoes and I ordered the English muffin (but you could have ordered a freshly baked muffin for an additional cost...which I am wondering if I should have?) It was all so delicious and not heavy at all. Recently celebrated my graduation here with friends and family. The owners were so accommodating and really great. The food was fantastic- we had some wings, various wraps and their pulled pork sandwiches which is smoked in house. I did not have the apple pie myself but other guests in my party did and raved about that as well. It's a cozy little set up and was perfect for our celebration needs. What a calm, quaint restaurant and environment to enjoy a classic breakfast! They have a beautiful patio area that adds to this old home being a very welcoming place. The parking is eclectic, and I was confused at which side of the building to enter from (my wife wasn't...It's the east side, in case you're not interested in going in the backdoor like I did). We both thought our entrees were well done and flavorful, good renditions of classic breakfast dishes. The most impressive part to both us was the bacon, it was the best restaurant bacon we think we've ever had, beautifully crisp. This is my go-to spot for brunch. Without fail, every time we walk in, we're seated immediately and given steaming mugs of freshly brewed coffee without even having to ask. They're incredibly accommodating to my special requests with no eye-rolling when I get my mini-sized sausage, eggs, toast and potatoes. THE POTATOES! Always piping hot, perfectly seasoned and delectably crispy. The bread is all made on-site (try their Cheddar Sourdough), and they make their own breakfast sausage as well. The staff is incredibly friendly and we always love catching up with them and watching them chat with other tables of random customers-turned regulars. Could not recommend more! read more

This place is setup nicely. The location is awesome with plenty of parking. There is a considerable wait to get seated during the weekends. And the food is simply not worth it. She has always been attentive and caring about my experience. If Alaina was not working here, I would never step foot into this establishment EVER again. The service was brisk-- frustrated permanently in college almost 30 guy who waxed on about frontal lobe development and how you can change your own DNA -odd , but what do you expect Ina college town? It's the food that was a bit of a let down. I had the chorizo burrito smothered with green chill it was amazingly non- dis riot and bland. What a shame my wife's meal was also a snore bore, except for the homemade toast which was excellent. While we waited to get on the list to be seated, 4 different wait staff passed us without any acknowledgement. The 5th person finally said "sorry for the wait; someone will be right with you". The things is, the wait staff seemed to be very busy doing not much of anything, as they were huddled in a corner talking. Food: Nothing to rave about. I had the veggie omelet. It was good, but nothing I would go back for. The veggies were diced and seemingly sautéed, which I appreciated. It was served with potatoes and toast. I was disappointed that they did not offer non-pork breakfast meat except for tempeh. I found this disappointing, as most breakfast/brunch places in Ft. Collins at least have a chicken sausage or turkey bacon. Drinks: I ordered the Bloody Mary. It's presentation was better than its taste. I was pretty disappointed and didn't finish it, and I'm never a fan of wasting alcohol. It reminded me of the Bloody Mary mix I've had on a flight on Southwest Airlines.
