My husband finally went back and asked what was taking so long and she said that it wasn't her fault. She then went back to the room without helping us. We're now facing hundreds of dollars in vet bills that would only prolong her life by 6 months for conditions that are fully avoidable by ethical breeding. The store keeps guinea pigs in filthy, overcrowded cages that are far too small. The conditions are unacceptable and inhumane. Petco needs to take responsibility for where their animals come from and how they're treated. I would never purchase an animal from here again.

After finding what I hoped was the correct aquarium tank, heat lamp, and bulb I went to check out. The clerk helpfully pointed out that there was a crack in my aquarium glass. The problem was out of the five small aquariums in stock, four were cracked. The clerk asked me where the aquariums were in the store. One area in the store was very messy. I was confused if that was an area for retail or for inventory storing. It was extremely confusing. It seemed to be an area for retail, but it was quite disorganized. My impression from my visit to this Petland store was that it is understaffed, poorly organized, and no one is paying attention to see if the items being stocked on the shelf are a good quality or damaged. In comparison to other pet stores in Wichita, this was quite inferior.

We get to the shop, chat with Mark, who was very helpful and kind, and picked out a few things for the trade. As we were about to check out with fish bagged and eel already moved into a tank, Mark tells us that Vince says he will only do $100 for the eel. Considering we spent a good deal of time getting the eel out of the tank, driving over half an hour to the store, and putting him into another tank, therefore stressing out the poor creature, I would've rather taken him back home for that insult of an offer. Vince is not reliable on his word and in fact very sketchy in the way he deals business with customers who bring trades. I would highly recommend going literally anywhere else for fish, considering his selection was already very limited and overpriced. Do not buy fish or corals here.

Explained the issues i was having, Mark asked a lot of questions then suggested bring in a sample of water from my tank. "Wow this was a first".. Came back 45 minutes later water sample in hand, after testing he gave me a sheet with the results and suggestions, none of which involved me buying anything. 3 months later I now know this is not necessarily a rich mans hobby and my Reef is awesome and plan to move up to 120 gallon tank.
