Also, they communicated to me that I should contact someone from my property management company only to email me a day later and tell me that person is on vacation and I actually need to contact someone else. This firm is TERRIBLE with communications. Which is EXACTLY what the court said (see below). Additionally, this firm is quick to file against homeowners but slow in releasing liens. 8/14/19 - No Amy I will not remove this review. If you don't want negative reviews, show up for court and don't attempt to charge residents for unnecessary work! Updated: I won my appeal against CF&L/HOA. Of course, Amy and Lisa tried to stop me from appealing my case by threatening to charge me with CF&L's legal fees associated with the appeal. And they did just that; attempting to charge me over 30k in legal fees. However, Judge Tepe shut them down. Hard. If you are a member of an HOA that unfortunately utilizes this firm, be VERY careful about the work they charge you for. It could very well be unnecessary and you CAN fight back. Read this from courtlistner.com: Summary of Opinion "... the trial court nonetheless erred in awarding attorney fees where there remained issues of fact as to whether the services performed by the association's attorneys were necessary to resolve the disputed claims and whether the Association or its attorneys failure to communicate with the homeowner caused additional and unnecessary legal expenses to be expended." My biggest issue with this "law firm" is that they have a business relationship with the Property Management Company that runs my neighborhood. They represent ALL of the neighborhoods for Rentz Management. This means, they have a reason to keep the property manager happy and not the people in the communities. I know this because I had a situation where I could prove that Bob Rentz and his employees repeatedly lied to me. Lisa and Amy were not concerned about members of the COMMUNITY, rather they were concerned with keeping their business partner happy all the while charging me exuberant fees. This is the kind of law firm that makes people hate lawyers.
