We were in Visby for a campus visit and came across this BBQ joint. Having lived in Alabama for 20 years, we've had good BBQ. This BBQ was fabulous! Sauce was great. Brisket was wonderful. Better than the Ribfest in Western Canada this summer! Perfect bbq meats and the beans are the best ever!

I know what y'all thinking, I came all the way to Sweden, jumped on a four hour ferry ride and is having BBQ ribs as my first meal in Visby , BUT, know this, if I didn't, then I wouldn't know about those: 1) The name of the island , Gotland, refer to the type of sheep popular on the island 2) The most popular foreign food on the island? Mexican.. Yup, this place makes their own tortilla with locally sourced corn (they use to source it from Mexico) . 3) The owner is from San Diego, former Navy, and Lockheed Martin employees, married a Swedish, had their wedding here on Gotland and never left. They also own an Mexican restaurant on the North side of the island 4) The local Brewery, Hop Shed, was found by an Australian guy, married a Swedish, and is one the only true craft brewery on the island. Their Red IPA is delicious, and I don't even like Red IPA 5) BBQ isn't an elegant food choice, I was super conscious the messy way I'm eating a rib. While the Swedish customers eat ribs with knife and forks. The owner told me that she seen people eat taco with knife and fork Now for the food, it is dry rub with a bit of spicy. It if fulfilling and delicious. They also stocked with many American beer (mainly from San Diego). This is a must try place in Visby. read more

Great food and wonderful staff. My wife and I were traveling on business and were hungry for some BBQ. Even now (almost a year later as I am go through some of the the images of our trip) I remember the ribs, nachos and guacamole we ate. Super yummy and the drinks were spot on too! Vanessa was very knowledgable about her whiskies. We went back the next day just to hang out for a bit and grab a drink. Great atmosphere. read more

My group from LA stopped in. Wasnt expecting bbq spot in visby. Great food. Owner is friendly.

This place is a must. We went here and the staff was very helpful and friendly. He talked to us about the island and what to see. The beer selection was good but the food was amazing. We had fried chicken and pork. The BBQ sauce was perfect and the prices were great too! read more
