My parents religiously go to Bagel Grove every week sometimes twice week. This past Friday the owner went to my father and said the last time they were in, which was Sunday, her employee claimed to have given my father too much change. The employee said that she gave my father an extra $10. She demanded that my father give her the $10 back to her. The owner confronted my father right in front of other customers. And my father gave her $10 because he was embarrassed and did not want to argue. Needless to say my entire family will never be going back to Bagel Grove. read more

This is a good place to eat I was there once and it was good and tasty and delicious for kids to eat at bagel gove is the best In town. In town for a wedding this week, thought a bagel would be nice. Instead, bagel grove has driven me to create a Yelp account just to air my grievances. Being from NJ I am used to a high quality bagel sandwich. While I do not expect the world when trying out a new place, I also don't expect a sandwich that borders on inedible. I ordered a Canadian bacon "scrambled egg" and cheese on a plain bagel. I also asked for double egg. One would think that two "scrambled" eggs would be literally overflowing from one of their comically undersized bagels, but, instead, the egg patty couldn't have been larger than a silver dollar. I'm near certain it was microwaved or heated in an oven and couldn't have covered more then 50% of the surface area of the bagel. The Canadian bacon, while tasty, was just one thin slice and was smaller than the eggs. (Unbelievably). I would compare it size-wise to a single piece of Lunchables™ Bologna. My sandwich was at least 40% dry bagel. The bagel itself could be compared to a WaWa bagel or something you could buy in your local supermarket frozen. Undersized and unflavored. The woman who took out order was also rude/borderline drunk. She seemed offended by every bit of my order. On the bright side, place looks great inside, and the rest of the staff seemed quite pleasant. Do yourself a favor and get an egg mcmuffin next door. read more

I have been a bagel grove customer for years. The bagels aren't the problem, it's the awful customer service.When the original owners were there, it was clean and the staff was pleasant. Over the past few years, I find the staff to be disinterested. This past Sunday I stopped in. There were 4 people behind the counter, none of whom seemed to be in any hurry to do anything, let alone wait on customers. The staff are consistently unhelpful, unpleasant and sometimes plain rude. The case for their cookies was dirty and the whole place seems to have deteriorated. What a shame for a local business who has a wonderful customer base and is the only act in town.....maybe that's the problem. read more

On our way to Albany we decided to stop at Bagel Grove for lunch. There was an endless list of bagel possibilities and an eclectic selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. There is definitely something for everyone here! We tried the chicken parmesan sandwich on a salt bagel, a scromelette on an egg bagel, a vegetarian scromelette on a spicy everything bagel, and a Vox on a Saratoga Sunshine bagel. All of the bagels were delicious and the sandwich toppings were super flavorful. We were hoping they would have some original coffee flavors that we could try but their coffee selection was limited to regular caf and decaf. They do however have a wide variety of tea choices but we did not end up trying any of them. read more

What can I say about Bagel Grove. It's the BEST bagel spot. People in other states wish they had New York bagels. My favorite is their blueberry bagel with honey raisin cream cheese. I was here almost a year ago, 10/2015, had egg salad sandwich on a toasted bagel and coffee, the bagel sandwich was good but what I remember most was that the coffee was pretty good. I told myself I really have to try this place again to see if it was just a 1 day fluke. Came back May 2016 to pick up my son from college, really disappointed when I arrived the place was already closed. Now I built it up in my mind that I really have to stop by this place next time I'm in the area. Today, 8/29/16, finally got to go back and try it again. It's hard not to get disappointed when you build up in your mind how good a place is, well I was not disappointed! I love this place! The bagels were good, I come from NYC, I know what a bagel is supposed to be like. This place doesn't come up in yelp under "coffees & teas" but this place has really good coffees. They have several different grounds. I'm a big coffee guy, I tried 3 different grounds, except the flavored one, I thought they were all good. Will definitely recommend this place for coffee, but the bagel sandwiches were good too. 4 stars because I don't give 5 stars unless everything is perfect and no place is perfect. read more

Still going strong. These bagels aren't just good for central NYS- they are just plain good (and we lived in NYC for many years). We always get a dozen (they give you 14) to take home to freeze and eat over time. They are a nice manageable size. We are amazed at the variety and our favorite specialty bagel is the Bonanza. Every time I've been here, the courteous and kind employees have always been helpful, fun, and efficient. Today, they accidentally brought out a bagel with the wrong cream cheese but the person bringing it out noticed on the way and made it right. I also love that the windows have stickers saying "Breastfeed Your Baby Here"! What a welcoming and supportive thing to do for mothers who may be shy or uncertain. Holy moly, we stopped here on a whim on our way home from a wedding in the Adirondacks. After a rough night of drinking, a sandwich from here really hit the spot. I got a bacon egg and cheese on a pumpkin bagel. The bagel was AMAZING, soft and clearly freshly baked. Hint of sweetness that was perfect with the salty bacon and cheese. The bagels are SLIGHTLY smaller than your standard bakery bagel (I would compare them to the size of Thomas' bagels you'd buy from a grocery store), however I found the sandwich quite filling and a steal for only $2.50 read more

Food is always delicious, I have no complaints on the quality. However, the employees are always unpleasant and miserable to the point I would rather sacrifice good food just to not go in. They have no manners and mope around as if to let us all know they hate their jobs. They're decent but the bagels are pretty small in comparison and they don't have the friendliest service in the area.
