While we showed up here unannounced and were able to enjoy an incredible lunch with wine pairings, we did seem to surprise the people who worked here with our appearance, so I think it's best to call ahead to make a reservation.
That said, we were so delighted to get a brief tour of the beautiful property, and to be seated in the sunny atrium room for one of our favorite meals during our 8 day visit to Sicily.
We kicked things off with fish cakes and a typical Sicilian appetizer - caponata, a sweet and sour eggplant dish with other cooked vegetables. I don't typically like eggplant; this was outstanding. For our main courses, we enjoyed plump, soft gnocchi with butter sage sauce and ravioli with shrimp in a red sauce. Each dish was paired with a glass of wine, all of which were terrific (we purchased 3 bottles as we left).
