Ambiance - plenty of parking spaces to park. Restaurant is large and spacious. Service - is excellent. Order was filled fast and our water glasses were always kept full. Different servers came to ask if we wanted more water or anything else. Food - my friend ordered the lunch special consisting of shrimp/vege tempura and California roll which came with rice, salad and miso soup for $16.99. I ordered the crispy pork papaya salad for $17.99. My friend really liked her order. The tempura was crispy but not greasy. There were 8 pieces of California roll which was generous. My papaya salad was okay. The dressing was not as flavor packed as I've had in other Thai restaurants. The pork was indeed crispy and good. The manager/owner was nice enough to chat with us.

Definitely an underrated gem! Bai Plu offers both Japanese (Sushi, Bento Boxes, etc.).and Thai dishes! They offer a Happy Hour daily 3-6pm (7 days except holidays) and they are open early for lunch with lunch specials. Happy Hour consists of discounts on certain specialty Sushi Rolls and appetizers along with beers, wines and cocktails. They have a full bar and several beers on tap. We decided to order one special roll, Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll, and one Bento Box, Chicken Teriyaki. My husband was still full from having a large lunch and this was as early dinner (4pm). This was more than enough food to share. We both ordered large Thai Teas that filled us up! The food! Sushi.was very fresh and very generous size roll. Bento Box came with a generous sized miso soup, many tempura pieces of shrimp and veggies, salad, and average amount of Teriyaki Chicken. The Tempura arrived piping hot and freshly prepared using fresh veggies. Prices were very reasonable. Service was very friendly, helpful, and attentive! There is ample parking in a shared lot with other businesses. They have a Robot Server. It was very cool to see it running around! We are already planning our next visit. We want to try their Thai dishes!

Totally underrated Thai and sushi restaurant! Oysters were AMAZING. MP was $13.99, worth it! The sauce they add is simply delicious. I could order 2 more just for myself. The nine one one roll was good and easy to eat. Not really standout-ish but nice to eat nonetheless. Crab fried rice with the BBQ pork jowl is a MUST. The combination of the two is too good to pass up. If you're a fan of pork, the pork jowl is a great amount of chew and bite while still being tender. I wasn't the biggest fan of the soft shell crab on the fried rice due to texture but my husband loved it, just bear in mind for those who are texture-focused on meals! The service was nice and our server came the right amount of times despite it being a busy weekend. She was very nice and attentive. The ambience leaned more towards comfort-bar style. We loved that tennis was playing live on the TV!! Highly recommend and look forward to trying more of their menu.

Went to Bai-Plu with my mom for dinner last night after not visiting for many years. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to what we hoped for. The restaurant itself feels like it may be overdue for some updates and renovations. After settling in, we both requested hot water. Instead of separate cups, we were brought two glasses of water with lemon and one shared mug of hot water, which felt a little unusual. For food, I ordered the spicy coconut soup and my mom ordered the wonton soup. The wonton soup was extremely bland, almost like wontons placed in plain hot water with a few vegetables added. My coconut soup leaned heavily sour without the balance of sweet, spice, and richness you normally expect from Thai flavors. Neither of us finished our soups. I am also very sensitive to dust because my son has a severe dust allergy, so I tend to notice cleanliness details. The light fixture hanging above our table was visibly very dusty, and it honestly made me grateful my son was not with us for this visit. Overall, the experience felt disappointing, and sadly, we will not be returning.

Great service, good, and atmosphere. Highly recommend! I had the shrimp pad Thai. We came with a large group and staff was friendly and accommodating.

We really love getting Thai food at this place! This trip, I got the pad Thai with tofu and he got the Pad See Ew with chicken. Both meals were very flavorful and filling. We also got chicken Satay as an appetizer. The peanut sauce was so yummy. Service was prompt and courteous. We did come in after the Saturday lunch rush. This place is spacious inside, and even has a Japanese sushi bar. One of these days, we'll come back to try the rolls. So I guess this review is really only for the Thai food. But it really is worth it. We'll post a roll review the next time we go!

Pretty solid, lively locals scene at the bar, lots of screens to watch the game with a very laid back vibe. Thanks to Mariya who directed me to the superbly spiced pineapple curry, and all service was polite. I also tried their version of an old fashioned with Japanese whiskey and grapefruit. While I didn't taste anything particularly unique, it was a well made old fashioned nonetheless. Extensive menu with Thai and sushi/sashimi options, and I appreciated the shout out to the vegetarian options on the sushi menu. Fun robot server works the sushi bar!

This is one of my neighborhood restaurants and I come here pretty routinely for lunch or to take advantage of the happy hour. Last night I sat at the bar so my friend and I could watch the hockey game and was served very attentively by the lovely Jackie. The food was delicious. I know that, which is why I keep going back. But last night we ordered oysters for the first time which I had never noticed on the menu before. My friend asked about them and we were served enormous oysters from Seattle that were fresh and delicious. I will make sure I order them whenever they have them, they were that good. We also ordered an assortment of other delicious items, like the Long Beach roll, garlic edamame, yellowtail sashimi, tuna sashimi, and my friend also had a spicy tuna roll. The bar is well stocked and Jackie cheerfully accommodated my friend's repeated requests for different types of whiskeys. (They had a great assortment.) They have a regular bar as well as a sushi bar, booths and tables, and an entertaining robotic server we saw bringing someone a happy birthday dessert, playing the song while transporting... Try it out if you haven't been there, it's really a great choice for both Thai and Japanese dishes

We have been coming here for a looooong time! Food is always super fast and service on point. Today we had the pad Thai and it was so sweet I couldn't really enjoy it. I have had it before and I don't remember being this strong. Regardless, I still give it 5 stars

FOOD: came here for a birthday lunch by request. We had... shrimp pad see ew, lunch special L-4 which is chicken with mint leaves and a bento box. Both the bento box and the lunch special come with soup (either miso or tom yum), salad, and rice. The L-4 lunch special also includes an egg roll. I had the bento box. I chose teriyaki salmon and a Philadelphia roll. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The Philadelphia roll had a nice ratio of cream cheese to fish to cucumber. They use quality ginger and wasabi. The shrimp pad see ew came out way later than the lunch specials. When it did come out, it was piping hot, with lots of plump looking shrimp. Two of us had Thai iced tea and the birthday girl had hot jasmine tea. SERVICE: the service was excellent. Lots of teamwork going on there. AMBIENCE: this is a very large, clean restaurant with plenty of seating. There is a long sushi bar and a regular bar as well. Plenty of parking.

Lunch this afternoon before a trip to the Lakewood Pumpkin Patch. My son and his wife have been coming here for 20 years, they recommended it to us and we loved the vibe. They had a robot that delivered the orders to the table, and the waitress would then take the food and personally deliver the entree to you. There was also a beautiful aquarium that my grandson was impressed with. it added to the ambiance. of the restaurant. The table across from us was celebrating a birthday and the robot sang. impressive! it was 8 of us including 2 toddlers and a baby. we ordered Pad See Ew noodles, Moonlight roll, Thai noodle soup, Salmon Skin handroll, Tuna handroll Wonton bbq pork soup, Edamame and Curry Powder fried rice with shrimp. Our food was personally handed to us and not delivered by the robot. We had server 9 i think her name was Sherrie, she was pleasant and got our orders to us quickly. My order was made incorrectly with tofu but she noticed it before handing it to me and quickly had it corrected. The Curry Powder fried rice w/shrimp was flavorful ,however, the menu did not mention the order had cashews as a garnish. i don't have allergies, however, i did not like the hard cashews in my rice. Overall it was a 10/10

Worthy of the good reviews. First time: had cucumber salad and chicken green curry. Cold crisp cucumbers with a slightly sweet dressing which I would gladly get again. The curry is super tasty and made me happy. the dish was crowded with fresh vegetables and ever-delicious thai basil.

An amazing amout options that will please all!

False Advertising and Total Failure of a "Speakeasy"…read more This place should not call itself a speakeasy. According to their website, they are strict about dress code, reservations, and no large parties. None of that was enforced. People arrived wearing sports clothes, tennis shoes, and flip-flops, and a group of more than 10 people was allowed in. That group was loud, drunk, and screaming, completely destroying any speakeasy ambiance. We had a reservation booked one week in advance for 2 tables of six, yet by 8:30 pm, we were told no food was available, despite the bar being almost empty. The water was already on the table when we arrived and tasted strongly of chlorine, with no ice. The waitress was clearly new, untrained, and unprepared. She did not know the menu, didn't know how to take an order properly, and provided no guidance whatsoever. There was one bartender Ricardo, who took over an hour to prepare cocktails and showed no sense of urgency or care. The dramatic cocktail descriptions sounded impressive, but the drinks did not match the descriptions at all. Because of the delays, we were never even able to properly toast or celebrate our friend. The charcuterie board took forever and arrived with an absurd amount of cheese and only six pieces of bread. To make things worse, part of the food we ordered never arrived at all. The live jazz band advertised and promised never showed up. When asked, the staff responded with: "I don't know, they were supposed to be here. I don't have their phone number." That level of disorganization is unacceptable. At the end of the night, we were shocked to receive a check close to $600 for two tables, despite each person only having one cocktail and shared food. The bartender, Ricardo, approached us and said: "Well, sorry, we really tried tonight! It wasn't the best, but we tried." Honestly, that comment made the experience even more frustrating. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they hadn't "tried."That statement perfectly summarizes the problem -- trying is not enough when everything fails. I would not recommend this place for a speakeasy experience. This is not a speakeasy. It's a poorly run bar hiding behind a concept it does not deliver. Do not recommend.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. (Also really good N/A cocktails!) The menu is super inventive and creative! And the cocktail menu changes out every so often so there are new things to try. This area is vintage vibes and Baby Gee speaks it fluently. Really cool decor, curated by the owners who design everything from the playlist to the cocktails to the invention of never-before-seen flavors and shapes of jello shots. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

We decided to celebrate my son's birthday at The 908 and really glad we did. The restaurant has a…read moremodern look and felt welcoming. We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.

The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.

The ambiance of the wooden tables and the total feel was cozy and welcoming. Once seated at the bar, we were greeted immediately by a very awesome Mixologist/Bartender! Amazing banter A+++++ Service The drinks : My Whiskey Sour was delicious, it had the perfect balance of sweet to sour notes. We also had the old fashion yes. May I have another, soo good. And, this place has a couple games to play and on some nights entertainment, which is pretty cool but on this night I only partake playing some pool. Overall, the drinks were crafted wonderfully, and I would recommend this lovely joint!

THE BLIND DONKEY IS NOT SAFE FOR TRANS PEOPLE…read more Last night (6/28) between 10-11pm, my trans boyfriend was followed into the men's bathroom by a security guard who started aggressively yelling at them for using the "wrong" bathroom. The security guard asked extremely inappropriate questions like "aren't you a lady?" and "what bathroom do you usually use?". Anytime my boyfriend responded, he yelled more and threatened to kick him out. This was a deeply upsetting situation. We were there for a friend's birthday and we left immediately after the incident. We definitely will NOT be returning to the Blind Donkey. We also suggest our queer and trans friends and community avoid this place too! The Blind Donkey needs to do better with educating and welcoming people of all genders. For good karaoke in a queer & trans friendly place, we recommend Silver Fox!
