    Offerings from BakerLand

Finally! A place near me where I can get a great croissant! BakerLand Cafe is a new addition to the Sugar Land bakery scene that has been sparse and getting a great croissant locally even harder. BakerLand had a soft opening a week or so ago and I bypassed simply because soft openings are meant to get the kinks out and not a fair assessment in my opinion, but I digress. This review is based solely on their bakery offerings, centering mostly on croissants. This has been my own personal campaign, always in search of a bakery with great croissants and BakerLand did not disappoint. Now, there is only one issue I have. The hours. BakerLand is open from 9 am to 10 pm. So, it misses that opportune weekday breakfast crowd. It's disappointing because they are a stones throw from my workplace and grabbing a coffee and croissant on the way would be awesome. I am hoping it changes as they get more established. All in all the atmosphere was very coffee house, but they offer sit down meals for lunch and dinner. I will have to return to give an update. The bakery is very similar to the panaderia, you grab a tray and tongs and set off to pick whatever catches your attention. There were several offerings and they were also putting out more as I walked up. I loaded my tray with two large butter croissants, a pain au chocolate, a mini danish, a cherry pastry and one donut, a well rounded selection. The coffee can be ordered at several self-service screens. I used the self-service to order a cappuccino and see if it was easy and it was, however you can order at the counter as well. For what was chosen, price-wise was very reasonable. They were a little backed up at the coffee counter but not too bad. The cashier did make sure to let me know my order was coming up and it was appreciated. During peak times I can see it bottlenecking. I took all my order to go. The cappuccino was very good and balanced. I would order again. Now for the croissant; I am a firm believer that a plain croissant should taste great and for me it sets off what the rest of the offerings should taste like. The croissant was great, I picked the jumbo one but was pleasantly pleased to find they also offer medium croissants as well. It was flaky and well laminated, a little bit of air but overall all was flaky and buttery and tasted great. I also tried the cherry pastry, I loved the fresh taste, many times you can tell if it sat for a while, this did not. Flaky and tasty not over sweet, the pan au chocolate also was flaky and yummy. All in all I found a new go to place close enough to enjoy on a regular basis and not an occasional journey. I went in on Sunday morning about 20 minutes after opening. Parking can get crowded and I assume when the other businesses are open during the week. Compared to others the pricing was average for what was ordered. I ordered for take out and will have to return for the dine-in. Worth a return to sample the rest. I recommend you try for yourself.

Beautiful waterside views, a ton of delicious selections? Fort Bend could use more spots like this. Pastries were a little pricey but the whole experience was great.

Very nice addition to the area. Food was good but the friendliness of the staff was even better. Everyone was so helpful. The pastries are delicious and they have a very large selection of beverages. Very family friendly and very relaxing. Will return.

My sisters and I came here on a Sunday morning I believe right as they were opening. Upon walking in, it felt like utter chaos and also a bit of confusion as to where to start or to go. The pastries and desserts did look delicious but lots of them weren't labeled. I really wanted to try a few mousse cakes out, so I got 4 different kinds. We also ordered iced lattes. The cakes were absolutely delicious, something I've been wanting to have for a long time. The lattes were disappointing. At first, mine came out with just oat milk and the flavor, so they had to add an espresso shot. But all 3 of our drinks were pretty meh, nothing that stands out. The service was also just pure chaos and people telling others what to do loudly in front of customers. Since it is technically the soft opening, I'll try to give this place another chance either once the chaos dies down or after the grand opening.

Real good deserts and baklavas. I am in love with their pastries. Great decor and view. This is my third time and it's getting better and better. Definitely recommended it for breakfast, lunch and coffee anytime a day.

The space is beautiful but they are very clearly still in the early days as the kitchen wasn't opened yet when we arrived. But the pastries we were able to try were quite good. Coffee wasn't my fave but they have 100 things on the menu you could try. May give it a second chance after they get a few months under their belt. Service was a bit chaotic as it was very busy and they're very new.

Great view, amazing selection of pastries and desserts. We had baklava and ice cream and both were really tasty. You cannot go wrong with any of the products on display. Finally a place worthy of Sugar Land

This place was so much bigger than we thought! It's very pretty inside and the coffee was great!

The toasted yolk had a very pleasant atmosphere and our server was absolutely fantastic. She was so friendly and explained with great detail any questions we had about the menu. We loved everything about the place. I had a simple breakfast consisting of two eggs over medium, a hashbrowns casserole which was so yummy. Three nice thick pieces of bacon and a biscuit with butter and jelly. I asked for honey for the biscuit and was accommodated. We even loved the mugs they serve their coffee in and actually bought one to take home with us. The menu was varied and had some unique items on it. My wife ordered fruit cup with her meal and the fruit was very fresh and nicely prepared.

The…read moreservice was terrible, we sat down for 20 minutes before anyone approached us (mind you, place was not that busy to begin with) there was multiple staff members who would just walk by our table but there was a specific waitress with a face mask and long ginger hair who purposely went out of her way to avoid us. She helped the table behind us, in front of us, and even next to us but never once came up to us to even acknowledge us. She just stood there, fixing bottles, made eye contact with me and still chose to pay us no mind. We felt discriminated against considering the fact that she helped every other table but us. I asked for the manager and let her know how we sat there for 20 minutes before anyone greeted/acknowledged us and as an apology we got donuts. I paid attention to every single person who sat down after us and witnessed the difference of how they were being treated compared to us and it just validated how we felt, uncomfortable and awful. We will never go back and if you can take anything from this review, try somewhere else.

I get it - it's right after the holidays so staffing could be short. The server we had wasn't exactly enthusiastic, just did the bare minimum. Dishes piled up and we weren't asked about refills. You'd figure because there was only 1 group that the service would be attentive, but nope! The food that we ordered from the kitchen were all super fresh and delicious. My favorites were the bulgogi gimbap, eggroll (tiny rolled egg omelette), and chicken wings! They come out super hot - loved them all. The hot buffet bar was not filled at all, some were even just empty. I found it disappointing that we didn't get to try a lot of their items. The hot buffet bar was really scarce, I mean, just fried dumplings and fries but they were refilled really slow and some never had refills. The boba bar was empty and never filled. The DIY ramen station was closed off. I tipped only because I felt like I had to, but the service was abysmal. I would come back but maybe for lunch instead of dinner. Hopefully service improves.

The owner and Nathan were amazing! Inside is really cute and and great for bigger groups.
