    Where's the shrimp
    Fina K.

I've been to other Bakers Crust in the area, and excited to try this one! When you first walk in it's nice modern cozy environment! Our host was very knowledgeable and spot on with my questions. I ordered the "shrimp asparagus Omlette " with the salsa on the side. It was a nice presentation with the 2 medium size shrimp on top. And only on top! Honestly if I am paying $21 for a shrimp omelet you've got to put a little more shrimp (look at my pic). The omelet tasted fine, but come on it needed a little more shrimp. The home fries where fine and the toast. The dish itself was not woth the amount you're paying! Plus they do not make crepes in this location! I will go back but definitely will try another dish and location that I am use to that serves crepes on the menu.

Went for brunch after girls day of mani/pedis and our server Layla was the most lovely young lady who really went out of her way to make our meal enjoyable. She was kind, gracious and attentive. The food was delicious and overall we had a great time & will be back for sure!

Our waiter was friendly and attentive to our table. The interior was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also clean and well stocked. I had the tomato and cheese soup, it was delicious and super creamy. The fried calamari could have been crispier and it needed more seasoning. The rest of the table had the smash burgers which they both enjoyed. Would come again to try other dishes.

    Ahi Tuna Burger and fries

We dined here today 8/23/25 with our two kids. We have been Bakers Crust customers for years but always the Hilltop location. I don't know if it's just this location or things have backslid over the years, but upon walking in (gorgeous 78 degree day and they have all the doors/patio open) we were hit with a disgusting smell. As we stood there for a while when they were cleaning up a booth for us I'm sure the hostess heard me complaining about the smell. I can't describe it as anything other than if someone had passed really bad gas. But IT DID NOT GO AWAY. It was right inside the doors by the hostess stand. Once we went further into the restaurant to our booth the smell got a little better but it still smelled like musty and old. Almost like they had left the doors and windows open on a really humid day. It was so odd. The smell was still there when we left and past back by the hostess stand. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Burger which was good, but the fries that came with all looked like I got the bottom of the fry basket - even my kids wouldn't touch them. My husband had the Smash burger that he said was okay. The pizza we ordered off the kids menu for my two boys to split was a good deal with how big it actually is (grateful we only ordered one) but OMG it was SO greasy. We asked for an extra stack of napkins to blot it. (You can see in pics) - tasted like the pizza you would get at Sam's club or Target when they used to have it there. My kids ate it nonetheless. The service was great and our waitress was quick and helpful. Very disappointed in the food. We probably won't be back.

Baker's Crust at Landstown as become a frequent stop for me. The happy hour is awesome. The menu offers so many options. The bartenders always get it right for me. Special shout out to Jessica F., for always having my sweet tea ready and preparing a perfect old fashion.

    Calabrian Chicken Alfredo

Service was good , pretty fast actually But don't recommend the chicken Alfredo nor the chips Chips tasted stale while the Alfredo was pretty much just oil

    Baltimore Benedict
    Mia B.

Maybe I should blame myself for ordering a lump crabcake dish from a non seafood establishment. It was bad. There wasn't any pieces of lump crab to be found. I got the Baltimore Benedict, and it definitely should be served in Baltimore so they can get some fresh crabs. The crabmeat was a mushy mess. The hash browns potatoes were also awful. My husband got the Jamaican french toast and we were trying to figure out what made it Jamaican. It was run of the mill french toast. Its a no for me.

    Signature tomato and cheese

My wife and I stopped in for a relative late lunch and we love Baker's Crust if we are near one around lunch time that's our go to place and I just realized I have never checked in or gave a Yelp review. So here we go. I had the BC Combo with the Mortadella and Burrata sandwich and the signature tomato and cheese. I also added the parmesan potato chips. The ciabatta had light toast which is nice because so many places over toast bread but NOT here. The mortadella thinly sliced with pistachio in it. It was excellent. The one thing I forgot to ask for extra pesto. The soup what can I say it just reminds me of being home sitting with my wife on the couch all warm and fuzzy. In other words it's the best in town hands down. The addition of the cheese just gives it that slightest bit of texture. The presentation of the soup not the best but we werent fine dining. We were eating lunch. The staff was best as always. Just give Baker's Crust a try and you will see what I mean.

Chicken and cheddar panini and homemade potato chips
    Meagan W.

I loved the panini and homemade chips! The only thing I'd recommend is asking for extra Mayo since the chicken was a tad dry (it was shredded chicken breast). The homemade potato chips were stellar, I couldn't get enough. The restaurant itself was clean and had a great ambiance. The only thing I didn't like was that it took quite a while to get my food, but the service itself was great. My glass stayed full and the waitress made sure I was good to go the entire time. I came here on a Sunday for lunch, and it was pretty crowded but I got a seat quickly.

The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly at mid-rare. I loved the idea of the pancake taco or "paco." The grits were seriously on point (and I typically only say that at restaurants in South Carolina or when we make them at home.) Just a side note: It's a bit off putting when there are several signs telling people that they must claim their table within 5 minutes or lose it; and that you only have 90 minutes at your table. It feels aggressively inhospitable, especially in writing on a chalkboard, at a restaurant where hospitality and service are a part of the experience. It seems unnecessary to me but I imagine that's how they try to ensure they can keep tables moving/turning over. ‍

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

I ordered the Williamsburg Bagel, which consisted of lox, plain cream cheese, tomato, capers, and red onion. I've had the Williamsburg Bagel before so I was excited to enjoy it again but I wasn't a big fan of the thick-cut red onions they added on there, and I actually love onions! Unfortunately, I ended up taking most of them off. I also wish it had more cream cheese, the thin layer on the bottom just wasn't enough for me. My husband and a friend came here on a Thursday morning to order 6 items and they were gone for almost an hour (it was a 10 minute drive from where we stayed). They come back with a bag of "bagels" (if that's what you want to call them) drenched in ketchup. Our orders were extremely simple: BEC w/PK on a plain bagel Egg and cheese on a croissant BEC w/PK on an asiago bagel Taylored Ham, egg & cheese on a bagel Toasted everything bagel with lox & cream cheese Here is everything that went wrong: 1. The bagel store didn't offer BACON, so we ended up substituting for sausage. The sausage patty was probably the size of my kid's palm- that's how small it was. The eggs were overcooked and had no taste, but don't worry, they'll make sure to smother the entire bagel with ketchup to make up for it. 2. TOASTED bagel with lox & cream cheese- bagel was not toasted, and there wasn't any lox available. 3. Egg & cheese on a croissant- the place didn't have any croissants... so had to substitute this for a roll 4. It was the chef's second day in the kitchen. Bagels alone wasn't great quality..it was edible enough, but extremely chewy and stiff, especially after taking so long to prepare the orders and with two people working in a place that is seemingly popular with the Yelp Community, the amount of time it took this order to be ready was a little ridiculous. I ordered the same thing back home the following day and it took less time to make here in NJ than it did here on a non-busy day with just my husband and friend as their sole customer at the time.
