A no frills donut shop - come in and grab your delicious yeasty donut and head out to splendid donut bliss. We got the original glaze, which like I mentioned is yeasty goodness. Think Krispy Kreme but softer and fluffier. We also grabbed an apple fritter, which they are known for. I can tell you, I completely understand why they are known for it. Come for the original glazed and stay for the fritter. Amazingly priced - I got 3 donuts and a fritter for $7. A perfect place to enjoy National Donut Day on June 6th.

Stopped by while visiting another store in this plaza. Very friendly lady helped us. The selection was pretty limited, however, we did visit at about 1 pm, so maybe the morning rush grabbed them all? We got a lemon filled which was good, the others were quite dry and lacked flavor overall. The buttermilk was very dense, the chocolate sprinkled tasted a bit stale and the glazed was also pretty meh. Again, maybe a better experience would be first thing when the open. Parking in this plaza is a mess. Literal mess. But, if you live here, you know that already!

While in the area and craving donuts, I found Baker's Dozen Donuts 2 on the map. I have been to Baker's Dozen Donuts before so I was excited to see that they opened a second location! The first time I went to the Cary location it was packed with customers. This location only had one customer in front of me. Thankfully that meant I had choice in any of the donuts. They offer numerous sizes and flavors, all well stocked. Plus they are reasonably priced. I chose a strawberry sprinkle, old fashioned, and lemon filled donut. They were all amazing. Perfect texture, temperature, and balance of flavor and sweetness. These donuts were exactly what I was craving. Excellent experience here and I recommend this donut shop to others!

Baker's Dozen Donuts in Raleigh deserves a solid 5 stars! The maple frosted donut is my absolute favorite - it's soft, flavorful, and surprisingly still delicious the next day. My second favorite is the glazed donut which is not too sweet, and has a hint of vanilla flavor to it which I found interesting. The prices are reasonable as well, making this place a true gem. Will definitely visit again once I find myself back in Raleigh.

My coworker recommended this donut shop a while back but I haven't had an opportunity to try it until now. The business was located in a shared lot with multiple other businesses. There is plenty of parking in front of the business. The shop was clean and had colorful decor inside. The bakery offered donuts, other pastries and drinks. We decided to get a half dozen donuts that has a fixed price. But if you get any of the specialty donuts then you have to pay an up charge for each specialty donut. The clerk was friendly and patient while we decided what to get from the variety of donut options that were available. I tasted the chocolate with custard filling and the glazed donuts. They were really good! They were soft and melted in my mouth. I tasted one of the donuts the next day and it was still soft. The bakery definitely used fresh ingredients. These donuts are way better than Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme. I will be back!

All I have to say is that these donuts are amazing and they melt in your mouth when you eat them. I had a donut left over the next day and it tasted just as good as the first day that I bought them. I will put them on the top of my list for donut places to go. You would definitely have to try them to see the amazingness that I've experienced eating them. And it's not too pricey. Definitely definitely definitely will be back.

You want donuts? You want them early in the morning? Well, this is the place to get them! A dozer varieties made fresh every day, and they close when they run out! On the weekends, the can run out earlier in the day, so get on over there. Also, if you need a large number, they will happily accommodate and have them ready when you pick up. I don't have a favorite donut, because they do everything well and I have found them al enjoyable. read more

I like a good donut as much as the next guy so I decided to try this place yesterday. I also like to support smaller businesses but unfortunately this donut shop disappointed me. I ordered a variety of pastries to try. The glaze donut was not very good, the dough tasted a little sour ( the yiest probably), the cinnamon roll didn't have any cinnamon taste, the apple fritter was just ok. If I am giving this place 2 stars is because the cream filled chocolate donut was good. I won't be coming back. read more

I have a serious sweet tooth and Bakers Dozen gets the job done every time! It's a no frills donut shop that serves up the classics for a great price. The owners are diligent and will have you in and out in no time. No matter what time of day you come, they will have plenty of donuts. I can't ever recall them being out of any flavors ever and I consider myself a regular The buttercream filled chocolate donuts are serious. They fill them as they go to deter sogginess. Please open a franchise in Knightdale!!! We need a bakery here so badly and it would be awesome if y'all came here. I have always been impressed with your doughnuts and you can definitely tell they are fresh. Krispy Kreme and Dunkin have nothing on your doughnuts. 6 stars because wow these doughnuts are delicious. These are yeast doughnuts and not cake like. Don't ask if it's as good as Krispy Kreme- Krispy Kreme can't hold a light to these. Why am I just finding this place‽ No shade, but this is way better than Duck Doughnuts, yet DD has been all that I have heard about for years. Everything that I have had here has been extra-ordinary. Their raised glaze manages to taste like the "Hot Now" version of that-chain-that-I-loved-for-so-long any, and every time that I eat them, no heat required! And, also in contrast to DD, I don't have to take out a second mortgage to enjoy them. Delicious and affordable...that's winning, if ever there was! read more

Just like home! We were having a hard time finding a donut shop what wasn't Rise or Dunkin Donuts... And we found this place! All the donuts here were fresh, and delicious. Pretty standard flavors, but done very well. Reminded us of donut shops in SoCal we used to go to. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I ordered a crème brûlée donut and noticed one had a visible finger imprint, as though it had been picked up and put back. There were several other fresh donuts available, so I was surprised it wasn't replaced with a better looking donut. The display case was quite full despite it being later in the day, which made the situation even more frustrating. We ordered a glazed donut, crème brûlée donut, and a Dubai chocolate donut. Unfortunately, none of the donuts lived up to expectations. All three were served cold, the crème brûlée tasted less than fresh and the Dubai chocolate was noticeably dry. I also felt like the Dubai chocolate was overpriced at $7 given the quality. Overall I left disappointed. While the donuts look appealing, the service and quality didn't match the hype, and I don't see myself returning.

My family tried some and enjoyed them as well. Will definitely come back and try the apple fritters they were unfortunately sold out of.

The crispy shrimp were nice large shrimp and a spicy sauce with rice. I ended up using the rice with the crab claw sauce. And the dumplings were ok but I didn't eat many of them. They were my least favorite. I would come back to enjoy coffee and breakfast, but doubt I come back for dinner.

I've also been to the Durham location, check out the review if you want to know more. Panysaurus over all is a very cool place (either location) but they have drastically different vibes - which in my book is a good thing. The Raleigh location has a smaller footprint and doesn't have the same outdoor patio vibe. The dinning area is a bit small but turn around is quick and there is plenty of space to stand and socialize if you're just there for the beer. I really love Ponysaurus beer, their pilsner is nice but their kolsch is my favorite. The Raleigh location menu has lots to choose from, we had a margarita pizza with pepperoni, hummus and wings. I can't recall what was in the hummus but we practically licked the bowl and the wings were a big hit too - note the Durham menu is a bit scaled down but one thing that's consistent with both locations is the amount of pita that came with the hummus. There is nothing worse than getting a huge bowl of hummus and only a few pieces of hummus or chips. Both locations knocked it out of the park - plenty of WARM pita for everyone. Service was great, we did't wait long and the tables were turned over quickly. They use a mobile app for ordering food which makes ordering fast and efficient and the food is delivered to your table - which I must note came out very fast.

Wow, this might be one of the best restaurants in Raleigh! I stopped in for a business dinner and…read morewas really excited to finally try one of Ashley Christensen's restaurants. Parking can be a bit challenging as you'll either need to find street parking or in a open lot near by. The restaurant itself is located in a historic building that once was a funeral home and also was also a tax practice in a different chapter. The restaurant feels very upscale but there isn't a strict dress code. The kitchen is open as well if yo prefer to sit along the kitchen and watch the chefs cook. When you order you'll have to place everything at the same time but they'll pace it out to your table. For drinks, I ordered the In Gold Blood (Bourbon, amaro, Fino sherry, banana, golden raisin) and the head in the clouds (Vodka, Falernum, strawberry, pistachio). Both drinks were excellent and extremely easy to drink. You'll definitely want to start with the sourdough bread, NC Oysters (Roasted NC oysters, chili butter, preserved lemon gremolata), and fried NC shrimp (Fried NC shrimp, buried garlic aioli, pickled green tomatoes). All of the appetizers were excellent in their own way. The bread and butter just complemented each other so well, the oysters were well balanced and almost seared where they weren't chargrilled but partially still raw, and the fried nc shrimp has a nice contrast of flavor with the pickled green tomatoes and fried shrimp. For the entree we split the Prime-aged Delmonico (ribeye; and was served in a red wine jus, and topped with sea salt and peppercorn). The steak fell apart as you bit into it. For sides, we ordered the crispy potatoes (Crispy potatoes, Italian chili crisp, piquillo peppers) and Brussel sprouts (Embered Brussels sprouts, apples, lardon vinaigrette, almonds). The steak and potatoes were definitely my favorite. The Brussel sprouts were good but a bit on the salad side where they were still a little hard. For dessert, we ordered the cheesecake (Basque cheesecake, strawberry compote, olive oil shortbread) and the Sticky Toffee Pudding (Sticky toffee pudding, embered vanilla ice cream, benne seed brittle). The sticky toffee pudding was so warm and was excellent. The cheesecake also had a nice balance of flavor and the strawberry compote combination worked perfectly. This is by far one of my favorite meals I've had in Raleigh and you definitely need to go here if you are in the area.

While the food left me somewhat underwhelmed, the cocktails were exceptional, among the best I've had in recent memory. The standout was the Over/Under, a beet-infused gin take on a Negroni. Absolutely phenomenal. The earthy beet notes were subtle but present, complementing the bitterness of the Campari, the floral qualities of the gin, and just enough sweetness to tie everything together. Every cocktail I tried was excellent, but this was the clear winner. As for the food, it never quite reached the same heights. The beef tartare was the best dish I had all evening. In fact, I found myself enjoying it more on the accompanying sourdough bread than on the rice crisps it was served with, which ultimately justified ordering the bread. The "pickled egg yolk" was an inventive twist, essentially replacing both the raw egg and cornichons found in a traditional French tartare. Clever in concept, but the pickling process seemed to sacrifice some of the creamy richness that the dish could have benefited from. The rice crisp accompaniment is also part of a trend I've noticed at several restaurants and one I'm not particularly sold on. They're usually too brittle to hold much tartare and often end up scattered across the plate. I find they work better crushed into the tartare itself than as a delivery vehicle. The oysters were the biggest disappointment of the meal. Heavily drenched in butter, they felt one-dimensional, with the lemon zest providing the only real counterbalance. To be fair, this is likely intended as a shared dish, and as a solo diner consuming the entire portion myself, the richness may have become more pronounced than intended. The gnocchi delivered deep, satisfying flavor and were impressively light, though perhaps a touch too soft for my personal preference. As I glanced over at the roast chicken being served to the couple next to me, a sense of ordering regret began to creep in. What ultimately elevates Death & Taxes is its hospitality. The service was genuinely five-star. Every dish was explained thoughtfully as it was delivered, and the bar team struck that perfect balance of attentiveness and conversation, making a solo diner feel completely welcome. Their warmth and professionalism raised this experience from a three-star meal to a four-star evening. And they are all 5 star.

I like how you can easily see and pay on the screen so I could see the error. When fixed the total was about $5. Pricy for one cookie, but they do look pretty and are packaged well so they make a great gift. The rotating weekly menu is exciting, but the cookies are not very flavorful so they taste similar. Even the guava cookie had a very faint fruity flavor and mainly tasted like sugar. Many times I have noticed that the unique flavors are just in the frosting not the cookie itself. I understand having a weekly changing menu is challenging, but there is room for improvement on their flavors. The cookies are all perfectly baked and decorated beautifully. Overall, good place for the occasional treat or gift.
